We rise by lifting others

Organizational Leadership in NGOs

“When you live in a poor neighborhood, you are living in an area where you have poor schools. When you have poor schools, you have poor teachers. When you have poor teachers, you get a poor education. When you get a poor education, you can only work in a poor-paying job. And that poor-paying job enables you to live again in a poor neighborhood. So, it's a very vicious cycle.”

Malcolm X.

Donor behavior we should know

9

• Speak in the company’s interest - Spend time to tell them how your NGO can help them achieve their objective

• Be creative - Give your donors something back, example organize networking events for the funders to interact

• Build networks within the company - People may leave, change positions, make sure you know a few key people

• Keep trying: So if you do not succeed the first time round, stay in touch and ask again later.
