Scientific Evidence

Photographic food diaries change attitudes and behaviors more effectively than written diaries (Zepeda et al., 2008)

Programs relying on technology seem to be more effective when participants can also contact a "live person," either in person or over the Internet, as compared to standardized programs that feature no personal interface (Tate, Jackvony, & Wing, 2003).“

Keeping in touch with clients through telephone and computer contact can be very effective (Fabricatore & Wadden, 2005).“

Lifestyle- and weight-management groups tend to be more effective than individual consultations, regardless of whether individuals say they prefer group or individual counseling (Renjilian et al., 2001)."
