With the help of the community, we were able to construct a Gobar Gas Plant.Gobar Gas will help our MDM vendor to serve us hot & fully cooked food.MDM uncle will also not complain about the Gas prices or shortage. The community has been sensitized to the importance of alternative & traditional fuel

Getting back to a few years & thinking about an Indian Village,Gobar Gas plants comes naturally to mind. Its location was normally in the front yard of village head man & was collectively owned by the whole village/community.It was representative of the village as a unit & a glaring example of cooperative culture. It provides women the time & space to sit & talk together. Its operation was well planned & managed as every one contributes in its continuity.

Story of Gobar Gas

In the present context, with the creeping of modernity in the village has made Gobar Gas plant a thing of the past. Now most of them have been buried & leveled and a few functioning are either through Govt pushing it or for aesthetic purposes.Gobar Gas plants have lost their importance and people prefer LPG over other fuels.

Mid Day Meal is served in the school by very jolly & good natured person who takes full care of children diet & taste. But recently the MDM was not being distributed as per the norms & MDM uncle looksangry & frustrated.Students witnessed MDM vendor entering into an argument with the Head Teacher demanding rise in the amount per head citing rising prices of LPG cylinder

Students felt sympathy for the MDM uncle & wants to help him in some way. They place their intentions before their teachers, & came to know how MDM vendor can be helped.1.Can grow vegetables in the school for cooking by MDM vendor.2.Can take turn to help him in cooking, thereby reducing labour costs.3.Can provide him with some alternative to cooking gas.The third suggestion draws maximum interest from the students as they want to know about the alternative to cooking gas. They were told about solar cookers & Gobar gas plants, which can be used for cooking food. After knowing the merits & demerits of solar & Gobar energy.students decided to install a Gobar Gas plant for MDM vendor.Gobar Gas excites students as they felt it within reach & familiar. They know it from their elders that Gobar Gas plant once existed in the village & were eager to recreate the magic of old days

A Gobar gas plant will be set up for the cooking of Mid Day Meal in the school. It will solve to an extent the problems of MDM vendor & help us in getting good &fully cooked food. The community will become more aware about the green & cheap fuels & will adopt them as alternative to LPG.

A Gobar gas plant for SchoolEfforts will be made to collect necessary finances for the setting up of Gobar Gas plant in School. This plant to be set up at the backyard of school will help MDM vendor to cook mid day meal. The cost to be incurred, design, rssources, optimum utilization & sustainability plan for the plant has to be chalked out. This campaign will require time, energy & enough persuasion/tact for its completion.
