Annual “Families Reading Together” Campaign

This November, we will be celebrating our 14th Annual Families Reading Together campaign. Reading as a family is an important bonding experience. Studies show that spending even 15 minutes a day can help a child become a better reader. Each year a book is chosen for all preschool through first grade children to read with their families. This year the book is “The Peace Book,” by Todd Parr.

We will be kicking things off with a day at the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium, On Sat, Nov 04 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm, children showing their library card will receive free admission along with one accompanying adult. The Bookmobile will be on-site for children to visit and library staff will issue cards to those who do not have one.

There will be a Great Book Giveaway inside! We will have other activities throughout the month to promote Families Reading Together. All county library locations will feature the book at story times and Outreach staff will provide programs to day care centers. This campaign is made possible through the generosity of the Friends of the Palm Beach County Library System and other community sponsors. All events are free to the public.
