Erotion
The loss of tooth tissue by a chemical process that does
not involve bacteria, acids are most commonly involved
in the dissolution process
Symptom:
Depretion sight in enamel surface near gum
Loose enamel
There is no sharp enamel
Abrasion
• The abnormal wearing away of tooth tissue by a
mechanical process
• Symptoms:
– Always infection caninus and premolar
– Not pain
– Groove radiolucent more seen at mesial than distal
– Usually on dental servical on cheecks and tongue
Abfraction
• The pathological loss of enamel and dentine due to
occlusal stresses
• Symptoms:
• Usually in servical cheek or lips
• Deep and narrow groove
Attrition
• The physiological wearing away of the tooth surface as a
result of tooth to tooth contact’ as in mastication
• Symptoms:
– Sensitive teeth
– Loss of tooth characteristics; rounded or sharp edges, loss of cusps
and chipped teeth
– Altered occlusion as vertical height changes
– Enamel of molars appears thin and flat
Pulpitis
• Pulpitis result from and inflammatory reaction of the pulp
inside the tooth.
• Symptom :
– contain continual pain in a tooth,
– a tooth hurtful to contact,
– discomfort in the tooth
– the jaw near the area of the tooth is painful and sensitive to
contact,
– fever.
Tooth Sensitivity
• Tooth sensitivity means experiencing pain or discomfort
to your teeth.
• Symptom : discomfort in the mouth when eat hot and
cold drinks.

Xerostomia (Dry Mouth)
• Xerostomia cause maybe illness related of many
medication.
• Symptom :
– dry in mouth muccosa,
– mouth can be easy to affect iritation and infection,
– taste disorders (dysgeusia),
– a painful tongue (glossodynia),
– increase need to drink water.
Abscess
• Tooth abscess is a collection of pus cause by a bacteria
infection of the inside of the tooth.
• Symptom :
– Throbbing toooth pain,
– sever and persistent sensitivity to hot and cold temperature,
– sensitivity to pressure chey or bite fever swelling of the face
cheeck inflammation
Gingivitis
• Gingivitis is infammation of the gum. It’s most often association with
plack.
• Symptom :
• gums that are red, tender and swollen
• Gums that bleed when you brush or flosh your teeth
• Gums have pulled away from the teeth
• Lose teeth a change in how your teeth fit together when you
bite
• Pus between teeth and gums
• Pain when chewing
• Sensitive teeth
• Bad breath that doesn’t away after you brush your teeth
Periodontitis
• Periodontitis is inflammation and infection of the
ligaments and gums that support the teeth
• Symptom:
– gums inflammation
– Bright red or purplish gums
– Gums that feel pain when touch
– Gums that pull away from your teeth making your teeth look
longer than normal
– New spaces developing between your teeth
– Bad breath
– Bad taste in your mouth
– Loose teeth
