MEET THE EXECUTIVE CURRENCY TEAM
Frederick J. Bart is the author of United States Paper Money Errors, the 4th edition of the definitive reference was released in late 2015. He has appeared on CNN, NBC, FOX and been quoted in USA Today. During the last two years, Bart has appeared on the reality TV show Pawn Stars and in the full length documentary, $2 Bill Movie which debuted at the Ft Lauderdale International Film Festival before nationwide showings. His personal paper money collections include: serial number one national banknotes by State, large and small size serial number one by type, and $100 large size type notes. Fred can be reached by calling or texting 1-586-979-3400 or at [email protected]. He joined the American Numismatic Association in 1973, foreshadowing a lifelong involvement in coins and currency. By the late-1970s he was advertising sporadically in Coin World and, in 1981, issued his first price list featuring paper money. Despite early numismatic entrepreneurship, Bart pursued a traditional career route as a trauma surgeon and performed
reconstructive surgery for more than a decade before returning to his first love. BART, Inc (the parent corporation of Executive Currency) was founded in 1997. During the past two decades, Frederick J. Bart has handled nearly every major US paper money rarity, including the $1,000 1890 Treasury Note or "Grand Watermelon", the first piece to realize more than one million dollars at public auction. Bart was selected for full membership in the prestigious Professional Numismatists Guild, an honor bestowed upon very few currency dealers since the PNG's inception 60 years ago. Doris A. Bart experienced a random encounter with an error note in the mid-1980s. This exposure served as the catalyst to alter her life course from surgical "scrub" nurse to numismatist. She is the co-author of chapters on paper money errors which appear in major guidebooks such as Paper Money of the United States (Friedberg), Standard Catalog of United States Paper Money (Cuhaj), and others. Doris is president of BART, Inc. overseeing the daily operations of the firm and its staff, including its online auctions and website sales. She attends every major paper money convention, where she provides auction representation for her clients. Her ability to guide clients to a fair market value, establish a sensible bidding cap, and seamlessly execute bids for several clients in the same sale is respected industry-wide. Her personal paper money collections include: the finest assemblage of error notes on the $2 denomination. Email Doris at [email protected] or call 1-586-979-3400. Doris is an Associate Member of the Professional Numismatists Guild.
Bianca B. Bart was born into a home where numismatics often provided a topic for dinner-table discussions; as such, her interest in the industry was nearly predictable. In addition to seeking mentors within the field, she enjoyed an internship opportunity at a top tier third-party grading firm, training under experts in the field. Immediately after obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree from Michigan State University, she began full time employment at Executive Currency. During her time at MSU, Bianca played on the women’s ice hockey team, and continues to play competitive ice hockey on a nationally-ranked women’s team. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her two adopted Pit Bull Terriers—Skylar and Deke. Bianca aims to share her passion with other collectors by tailoring selections to enhance their holdings. Bianca Bart is among the youngest members ever accepted by the Professional Numismatists Guild. Contact Bianca at 1-586-209-3116 or email her at Bianca@ ExecutiveCurrency.com.
Over the past two decades Mike Abramson has had articles published in Coin World and Paper Money magazine, and is widely considered the nation's largest currency dealer concentrating on special serial numbered banknotes. He considers it a real honor to have been the primary dealer for constructing five of the six largest collections of these notes since the A. A. Grinnell sales of the 1940s: The 1998 Baltimore Collection, the massive VA radar/repeater collection, the landmark John Whitney Walter Collection, the James W. "Billy" Key Collection and the Mel Wilmore collection. Mike sold the VA radar /repeater collection in 1999 in his 168 page fixed price catalog and wrote the auction catalogs for the Key and Wilmore sales through Lyn Knight Currency Auctions in 2012 and 2014. Fred, Doris and Mike are all members of the Professional Curency Dealers Association and a large number of other numismatic organizations. 2017 marks Mike’s 50th year invovled in the world of paper money. Mike can be reached by calling/texting 1-218-310-0090 or e-mailing [email protected].
Together these four individuals have over 140 years of combined experience in the currency industry.

Grading Paper Money Grading currency is an art and not a science. There is no one industry standard that is universally accepted by all dealers, collectors or grading services. We make every attempt to grade accurately and conservatively. We have adopted the following descriptions for each grade that we feel parallels that used by the majority of professional currency dealers and most of the well-established grading services: Superb Gem CU, Superb Gem New or Superb Gem Crisp Uncirculated - A virtually perfect specimen. Near perfect margins, bright paper, vibrant inks, and fully embossed surfaces. May have one or two very minor handling marks and/or a tiny corner crinkle. One might expect this note to be graded 67 by PCGS and PMG. Gem CU, Gem New or Gem Crisp Uncirculated - An almost but not quite perfect note. Above average but not perfect margins, with no aging or fading of papers, bright inks. Same flaws acceptable as Superb Gem CU. May or may not have fully embossed surfaces. One might expect a Grade of 65 or 66 by PCGS and PMG. Choice CU, Choice New or Choice Crisp Uncirculated - A very nice new note, but margins may be uneven or a bit skewed. Paper may show light aging, with some handling marks evident. Might be graded 63 or 64. CU, Unc., Uncirculated or Crisp Uncirculated - A new note with some minor flaws. The note may have some aging, pinholes, margins may be shifted, handling marks will be evident, with one or two corner tip folds. 60 to 62. AU or Almost Uncirculated - A note similar to a “CU” or “Unc.” note above, but will have a centerfold and/or another light fold, corner fold, or bend in another area. May be graded 50 to 58. XF or Extra Fine - A lightly circulated note that may have three folds, and may have handling marks and other minor distractions. Still relatively crisp and clean. Reasonable to expect a possible grade of 40 - 45. VF or Very Fine - A well circulated note with multiple folds, duller paper and coloration, with little crispness. PCGS or PMG would likely grade this note 20 – 35, with a 35 appearing much, much better than a 20. F or Fine - A note that is lacking in crispness and coloration. Fairly heavy circulation with edge problems 12 - 15. VG or Very Good – Heavily circulated note with multiple problems. One could expect a graded of 8 – 10. Good – Very heavily circulated with pieces missing, heavy paper splits, poor color. Grade may be 4 – 6. The words App. or Net means a note has received the “Apparent” or “Net” designation & reflects that there are (were) small flaws or that conservation work has been done on the banknote.

FEDERAL RESERVE BANK NOTES -- LARGE SIZE The Greatest Cut
Sheet in American Numismatics
98. S/N s 1-2-3-4 $5 1918 Federal Reserve Bank Notes further identified as Fr. 782...an item of epic proportions, missing from even the greatest collections, including both public and private museums...the likes of which have never graced the halls of the Smithsonian Institution or the American Numismatic Association, either on temporary loan nor permanent display. There are three serial number one $5 Federal Reserve Bank Notes (FRBN) recorded. The D1A, from Cleveland, is no longer accompanied by it's sheet-mates. The F1A, from Atlanta, remains part of an uncut sheet. The F1A uncut sheet is presently for sale at $450,000. (It would be our pleasure to broker the sale of this item.) We believe that
the uncut sheet of $5 F1A, F2A, F3A, and F4A uncut sheet is fairly priced; only a tremendous purchase on the B1A, B2A, B3A, and B4A cut sheet, offered herein, allows us to present it at such a favorable price. During their two prior auction appearances, dating back decades, each of these four notes was graded Gem CU. PCGS took a very conservative approach in assigning: B1A--the first and most important note printed-- Choice About New 55 PPQ B2A--serial number matches district number--Choice About New 58 PPQ B3A--every bit the equal of the Gem New--Choice New 63 PPQ B4A--few certified gems exist--Gem New 65 PPQ Each received the coveted PPQ (premium Paper Quality) accolade attesting to complete paper originality with deep embossing. Our firm sells collectibles, without the mention of 'investment'--which, as advertisements remind "past performance is not a predictor of future growth". Yet, perhaps once a decade, an item comes along whose future appears so stellar that contemplating long term potential seems reasonable. This is one such item. From the FUN 2014 auction (Platinum Session), with an estimate of $75,000-up and an opening cost of $70,500 ($60k bid+ 17.5% premium). Make it a crown jewel of your collection. ANDREA DORIA—Authentic Salvaged Banknotes
The S. S. Andrea Doria was as much a floating art gallery as a luxury cruise vessel. Between her maiden voyage in 1953 and the maritime disaster ending her service along with the lives of more than fifty on board, she ferried thousands of people between Europe and New York. On July 26, 1956 the Andrea Doria and the Stockholm (a Swedish ocean liner) collided amid dense fog off the coast of Nantucket. On August 27, 1981, a team lead by marine explorer and department store heir, Peter Gimble, recovered the Banco di Roma safe which had been submerged more than 250 feet underwater for more than one-quarter century. Three years later, the safe was opened during a live television broadcast revealing stacks of U.S. $1 silver certificates and Italian banknotes in 50, 100, and 1,000 Lire denominations. After a meticulous inventory, some notes were preserved and protected in specially-made Lucite holders. These holders were sealed by PCGS along with a certificate of authenticity. It is a thrill to offer such historically important relics from this famous maritime disaster. Each pair includes a $1 silver certificate and an Italian 1,000 Lire salvaged from the Andrea Doria mounted in custom acrylic ready to display, along with an informational DVD.
534. One pair: $1 Silver Certificate and 1,000 Lire, each PCGS certified………….$995535. Two pairs, as above, two $1 silvers and two 1,000 Lire……………………….$1795

INTAGLIO IMPRESSIONS of ADOPTED or PROPOSED DESIGNS
PROOFS and INTAGLIO IMPRESSIONS are among the most highly coveted items in paper
money—unlike United States coinage, where proof strikings have been available annually, to the public, for nearly 150 years, paper money collectors never enjoyed the same opportunity; even the most common, the most basic of proofs command prices beginning at $5,000, with several approaching $100,000 at public auction. Despite abundant similarities, important differences exist between proofs and intaglio impressions.
Proofs are produced on an intaglio press before a design is released, commonly impressed into India paper on cardstock, in extremely limited numbers.
Intaglio impressions—such as those offered here—are printed from the same plates and inks on the same presses directly into cardstock after release.
Both are official products of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing; both offer a wonderful execution of the engraver’s design with each artistic detail flawlessly rendered and crisply impressed. Both proofs and intaglio impressions are printed on one side only (uniface) without identifying serial numbers; neither is negotiable.
Intaglio impressions offer a valuable addition to any collection or a worthy (and affordable) gift to a collector at any level. Only once before, in the 35 year history of our firm, did we have the privilege of bringing such important pieces to market. PCGS Currency has authenticated these as “Intaglio Impression from Original Printing Plate on BEP Card” and additionally graded each as Gem New 65PPQ or better, attesting to the pristine nature.

F. E. SPINNER ARCHIVE "On the recommendation of Secretary of the Treasury Salmon P. Chase, he (F. E. Spinner) was appointed by President Lincoln as Treasurer of the United States and served from March 16, 1861, until his resignation on July 1, 1875. He signed the different series of paper money in a singular handwriting, which he cultivated in order to prevent counterfeiting. His signature on the “greenbacks” of the United States was the most familiar autograph in the country. The flourishes are so immediately recognizable--simple autographs of F. E. Spinner are acquired immediately by anxious collectors. Cut signatures bring $100-250, while checks from Mohawk National Bank (signed by Spinner) fetch $250-500. Spinner proved such an important member of Lincoln's cabinet that his image appears on the Fifty Cent denomination, of the Third Issue of fractional currency, replacing George Washington on previous Issues and preceding Abraham Lincoln on future releases. Public auction sales fails to reveal even a single letter accomplished totally in Spinner's hand during the last decade. This irreplaceable, museum-worthy archive contains five (5) letters executed in their entirety by F. E. Spinner, showcasing his unique style of handwriting and signed by him. Each document was generated during Spinner's tenure as Treasurer of the United States, underscoring the importance of these relics. Each dates from 1868-1872 and is addressed to the Honorable Ezra Graves of Herkimer, NY. A full typewritten transcript of each letter is available upon request.

NUMISMATIC RELIC from the TITANIC DISASTER
Timeless Treasure: A Coveted Collectible from a Devastating Disaster
The fascination with the Titanic is not the romance of the survivors but, rather the tragedy of the victims.
Not only was it the greatest maritime disaster but, it continues to evoke emotion and stir the collective soul of humanity to the present day. Her story is still told in movies, books, documentaries, traveling exhibits and permanent museums.
This 1906-O Barber half-dollar belonged to Titanic victim John W. Gill. It was recovered from the trouser pockets on his corpse. The provenance is beyond question and the origin irrefutable. Even the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) which understandably takes an ultra-cautionary approach before endorsing a pedigree and imprinting it on the “slab” concurs with the origin. The Gill archive continues unchallenged as the best documented artifacts recovered from the disaster. Any piece linked to Gill creates a stir, as the authenticity is beyond reproach.
An Epic Love Story
Gill was a Second Class passenger on the RMS Titanic. The 24-year-old planned to sail to America to
begin a new life with his wife and father-in- law. At the last moment, his wife and her father decided to remain in England to sell the father’s business.
John and his wife, Sarah, were married on Valentine’s Day, 1912--only two months before the tragedy. After she learned of his death, Sarah fell into a state of shock and was unable to speak for more than twenty years. She resumed talking only after falling down a flight of stairs. The pain evoked by viewing her late-husband’s belongings caused her to sequester them in a drawer. Sarah never remarried. Provenance: Nova Scotia to Now
Mr. Gill's possessions were carefully inventoried by a provincial secretary in Nova Scotia. The items were placed inside a canvas bag stamped 155, corresponding to the order in which his body was recovered. The bag now serves as the centerpiece of the exhibit at the Titanic Museum.
Among the items were his pocket watch; the hands of which froze three minutes after the Titanic fell beneath the ocean surface. In addition to this half dollar, a folding comb, and a ring was returned to Sarah.
Everything remained inside the bag until 2002, when auctioned by Henry Aldridge of England; the holdings brought a staggering amount. So much so, that the assemblage was later broken into individual lots so that more collectors could afford the items. The Barber half was featured on the cover of the catalog.
That this coin survived the disaster on April 15, 1912, while Gill himself didn't, offers a poignant reminder of the frailty of human life. This silver disk endured the frigid saltwater of the north Atlantic, which was inhospitable to human life, even for a brief period.

Not merely a numismatic link to the greatest maritime disaster in history, but a tangible relic of a young couple’s promising future, which crashed to the ocean floor along with the vessel, touted as being “unsinkable.”
Accompanied by three letters related to the loss
of John Gill in the Titanic disaster, consisting of a letter from his widow Sarah Gill's attorneys, a letter from the White Star Line, and a carbon copy of the law firm's response. The first letter from attorneys O'Donoghue & Forbes (21 Dec 1915) states "We are acting for Mrs. Sarah Gill...whose husband drowned in the 'Titanic'...at present receiving an annuity out of Bishop Exeter's fund. We notice....that your Line has agreed to pay L 128,000 in settlement of all claims...kindly let us hear what part of this settlement will be allocated to our client." The second letter, written by the White Star Line, forwards the claim to their attorneys Mssrs. Hill, Dickinson & Co. The final is the retained carbon copy of the White Star Line's legal firm to Sarah Gill's attorneys delivers disappointing news: "The reference...to a settlement is with regards to certain proceedings in America...but, we have no information of your client being party to the American Proceedings." These documents were part of the original Gill archive, the best preserved and documented artifacts relating to the maritime disaster.
Comprehensive The central piece in this museum-worthy assemblage remains the unparalleled 1906-O Barber half
dollar certified by NGC as originating from the corpse of John W. Gill. However, this archive contains a treasure trove of information: an original auction catalog, copies of correspondence be-tween Sarah Gill, the newlywed widow, and the White Star Line which disavowed any liability, additional letters from the Provincial Secretary in Nova Scotia, etc. The next curator is annexing far more than a coin, that person is receiving an irreplaceable link to a history-defining moment. At a certain point, success is no longer measured in dollars, but rather by the prestige and privilege to acquire trophies beyond the imagination of most collectors; a rare collision of fantasy and reality. An opportunity to reward oneself for a lifetime of hard work.

1943 BRONZE LINCOLN CENT and the 1944 STEEL LINCOLN CENT
"Trophies of the highest caliber" Every collector creates a mental checklist of fantasy items--trophies so rare that despite the financial success of the individual, obtaining one carries far greater value than the money spent to acquire it. The realization of the fantasy dwarfs the cost of ownership. Among those who aspire to possess the finest in United States numismatics, a genuine example of the fabled
1943 “COPPER” or “BRONZE” PENNY
often rests alone at the apex of the pinnacle; a single tier below that is the
1944 “STEEL” or “ZINC” PENNY
1943 COPPER or BRONZE CENT A rarity of the highest caliber, with unequivocal authentication. Less than a dozen examples are believed known, with six from the San Francisco mint, and a lone example bearing a “D” mintmark (presumed) intentionally struck under clandestine circumstances. It appeared in the estate of a woman who dated John R. Sinnock—Chief Engraver for the United Sates Mint in the 1940s—when both lived in the small community of North Tonawanda NY. The museum-worthy showpiece offered herein demonstrates pleasing golden-brown surfaces interrupted by “test cuts.” As the 1943 Copper cent became an immediate sensation upon discovery—and today holds the lofty position of number 8 out of the top 100 coins—crooks immediately began to attempt to capitalize with nefarious methods designed to fool the collecting community. Among the earliest methods was also the most easily detectable. Plating a normal 1943 steel cent with copper produced a visually compelling fake. As very few people had access to equipment to perform specific gravity tests and many were unaware that only steel (not copper) sticks to a magnet, a pocket knife became the diagnostic tool of choice. Cutting deeply into the coin would reveal the inner core—whether of copper or bronze origin.
Page 84
1943 1C -- Struck on a Copper Planchet -- PCGS Genuine. The present piece can best be described as having the details of EXTREMELY FINE, which has been scratched. Scratches are present above LIBERTY, near the T in CENT, and beneath the IBU in PLURIBUS, but the most noticeable mark is a deep horizontal test scratch from Lincoln's cheek to the back of his head. These marks were undoubtedly made by an incredulous finder expecting to uncover the steel interior usual for a 1943 cent. The golden-brown surfaces also have a trivial rim nick at 2:30 on each side. Accompanying the lot is a 1970s vintage Fort Wayne, Indiana, newspaper feature story on the present cent, and a May 10, 1982, Professional Numismatics Guild certificate of title. The “test marks” have long permitted accurate identification of this particular specimen. Such marks can be professionally smoothed and the coin re-slabbed, should a future owner desire. However, we find the cuts to lend a unique character to the coin and a reflection of days before third party grading (or the knowledge of a magnet) would have yielded the correct diagnosis without disturbing the surface.
1944 STEEL or ZINC CENT
“The story behind the creation of the 1943 copper cents has been told and retold in numismatic circles since the discovery specimen was reported in the June, 1947 edition of The Numismatist. Leftover copper blanks from 1942 found their way into the coinage presses and were struck with 1943-dated dies. Recent years have also seen heightened public interest in these pieces, with national coverage often resulting in temporary elation and dashed hopes. Less well known among the non-collecting public are the equally as fascinating 1944 steel cents. The 1944 steel cents probably owe their existence to a few leftover steel planchets that were accidentally struck early in the year. Rather than waste the numerous steel planchets that remained unused at the end of 1943, the Philadelphia Mint pressed them into service the following year to produce 25 million two franc coins for liberated Belgium. Given the poor quality control that characterized the wartime Philadelphia Mint, it is not beyond the realm of possibility that some of these planchets found their way into a tote filled with cent planchets. Once struck, most of these coins were probably released in original mint-sewn bags.Richard Fenton discovered the first 1944 steel cent in circulation in 1945. Another example was reported in 1959 by W. H. Smith of Fayetteville, Ohio. In his 1996 book The Complete Guide to Lincoln Cents, David W. Lange gives an estimate of the number of 1944 steel cents confirmed as genuine: 27 P-mint examples; seven (perhaps as high as 10) D-mint examples; and a single S-mint coin. The Philadelphia and Denver coins are less rare than their 1943 copper counterparts, but the 1944-S steel cent is the rarest of the 1943-1944 off-metal error cents. The finest known P-mint steel cent was once the property of Chief Engraver John R. Sinnock, designer of the Roosevelt dime and Franklin half dollar. He passed this coin, as well as a 1943 copper cent that he had also acquired, to an anonymous female acquaintance, who in turn sold both examples to dealer William Grichin. The coins then passed through the hands of Harry J. Forman and John J. Ford.” (From HA.com, lot 5492, February, 2001 Long Beach Signature Sale)
1944 1C -- Struck on a Steel Planchet -- PCGS Genuine. The present piece can best be described as having the details of EXTREMELY FINE, which has received some environmental damage. Still, the lightly granular surfaces are entirely consistent with original circulated steel cents. The weight of 2.7 grams, as reported on the PCGS insert, is precisely identical to the standard weight for the steel cents from the previous year.
PRICING and the PRIVILEGE of OWNERSHIP:
Clearly a landmark opportunity for a collector who has already enjoyed tremendous success in other arenas and is now ready to simultaneously fulfill a childhood dream and catapult his or her collection into the stratosphere. Extensive research suggests that examples of these two iconic errors have never been offered together publicly.

Forward to our Special Serial Numbered Notes
Summer 2017
Our larger office in Roseville, MI handles all types of paper money except fancy serial numbered banknotes. Our Duluth, MN office headed by Mike Abramson has bought, sold or consigned in excess of $20,000,000 of this specialized material since he published his first large retail price list in 1998. A few comments worth considering from Mike: “I'm not big on making predictions and I'm not smart enough to be certain where prices are headed on fancy serial numbers. I never have been. In the last six months I've sold more inventory than in the previous eighteen months. Fancy serial number inventory went from $450,000 down to $35,000 from September 2016 to March 2017. Prices for many types of fancy serial numbers have experienced a drop of 30 to 50% from their peak levels more than a decade ago. In my opinion not only has the bottoming out process ended but price increases are now a reality. For the first time in thirteen years, I've never felt like I do today. It is my opinion that it will cost considerably more to buy fancy serial numbered notes in the future than what you will pay for them today. Let me explain: It only takes two or three individuals who love fancy serial numbers, (who have significant buying power) to move the prices up for most all types of fancy numbers. John Whitney Walter, the buyer for The Taylor Family Collection, James W. Billy Key and Mel Wilmore and three others each had a real impact on moving prices upward from 1988 to 2004. These individuals bought up over $12,000,000 worth of serial numbers like 00000001, 11111111, 88888888, 99999999, 12345678, et al…at ever rising prices. During that time period I had as many as three individuals each month shipping me fancy serial numbers from US money center banks and/or armored car companies. As of early 2011, every domestic supplier that I once had is now "out of business". With the top five domestic banks buying up hundreds of smaller banks in the past two decades, the ability of bank employees to pull out a serial number like 11111111 or 87654321 is simply gone. All have been barred by the employers from buying fancy serial numbered notes. It's now been six years since I've had a supplier here in the US. The few newly produced fancy serial numbered notes I can buy now, come from overseas, where the vast of the total dollar value of us paper money is shipped. Several new well-heeled buyers have come into the market seeking fancy serial numbers in the past eight months. The dispersal of the Walter, Taylor, Key and Wilmore collections is fully complete. Last year four collectors decided to sell me their collections. Over 95% of those purchases sold out within 30 days. Over the past few months, I have approached several long time clients to see if they would consider selling their collections to Executive Currency and all declined. Most collectors of this material, simply aren’t interested in selling their holders. But….there are many fancy serial numbered notes included in this catalog that are on consignment from long time clients. I am simply thrilled to be able to offer several pieces that are impossible to replace. Just look at the photos on the previous and following pages! The bottom line is this: While I can offer no guaranty that prices will go up for special serial numbered banknotes, this is the first time in thirteen years that I feel prices for this material are now at the most attractive level it has been for a long, long time.”

SPECIAL SERIAL NUMBERED BANKNOTES – ULTRA LOW SERIAL NUMBERS
THE KING OF SMALL SIZE U.S. CURRENCY
The first pack of $100 1966 Legal Tender Notes were found by Phil Lampkin likely sometime between 1968 and 1972 in Puerto Rico. He subsequently called Amon Carter, Jr., then President of American Airlines, who helped Lampkin acquire this intact pack. Amon kept the #00000005 and #00000001 note for his personal collection. When the Carter estate was disbursed in the mid 1980’s John Rowe sold the #00000001 to Jack H. Fisher for the unheard of price of $6,000, who illustrated this note in several articles he wrote in Coin World and Bank Note Reporter in the 1980’s. When Jack passed away in the early 2000s, the note was subsequently acquired by John Whitney Walter in 2004 for $195,000….which at the time, we believe the highest price ever paid for a small size United States Banknote. We are of the opinion that this is the single most valuable piece of small size U.S. Paper Money. There are only two others that we consider in the same league: The $10 1933 Silver Certificate A00000001A (which we sold for $18,000 to the current owners in the late 1980s) and is currently not for sale, and the $500 1934 Federal Reserve Note J00000001* which was offered for sale in 2010 for $295,000. The note has never been encapsulized and remains in its natural state. We believe the note might grade between 55 and 64 if submitted to PCGS or PMG. We would of course be pleased to have this note graded by either service at no charge to you. 801. The King of Small Size U.S. Paper Money is offered to you at $395,000. 813. 1950’s era notes are multiples rarer than their counterparts from series 1963 to 1995. There are two main reasons for this: 1) The quantity of notes printed in the 1950 – 1950E design is a small fraction of the redesigned 1963 – 1995 era notes and 2) Very few collectors pursued fancy serial numbers before the 1960s and very few special serial numbers were ever pulled.

The Single Most Desirable Large Size Eight Digit Solid Serial Number Banknote
SOLID SERIAL NUMBER 55555555 on a FIVE DOLLAR BILL WITH THE #5 “E” PREFIX
With the help of Martin Gengerke, Peter Huntoon, Jamie Yakes, Billy Baeder, Sandy Bashover and my own research we find that the total population of eleven known digit large size $5 notes extant is limited to this census: Fr. 88 $5 1907 LT E99999999A Fr. 91 $5 1907 LT M22222222 Fr. 91 $5 1907 LT M33333333 (offered in this catalog) Fr. 275 $5 1899 SC E55555555 (offered here) Fr. 280 $5 1899 SC N11111111 Fr. 727 $5 1914 FRN G11111111A circ Fr. 846 $5 1914 FRN A33333333A Fr. 852 $5 1914 FRN C11111111A circ Fr. 871a $5 1914 FRN G99999999A Fr. 871a $5 1914 FRN G44444444B circ Fr. 891a $5 1914 FRN L77777777A One of the crown jewels of the John Whitney Walter Collection. It was lot #104 in his historical sale held on October 16, 2004 where it realized $40,250. I was fortunate to offer it again for sale in the Executive Currency Fall 2011 catalog with the very reasonable asking price of $50,000. It was gone the first week the catalog hit the streets. The note is in its original state having never been slabbed by a grading service. It was last described by Lyn Knight in the John Whitney Walter auction catalog: “This note is totally fresh and original and it has wonderful centering. It would be difficult for me to believe a better Chief could be possible for the quality and this incredible serial number. Choice CU.” The note has never been encapsulized and remains in its natural state. We believe the note might grade between 55 and 64 if submitted to PCGS or PMG. We would of course be pleased to have this note graded by either service at no charge to you. 842. The single most desirable solid serial numbered U.S. Banknote is offered today at $88,000

There are three pieces in this set (not six). The backs of each note look like regular issue banknotes. Do not confuse this trio with the more common serial #23456789 specimens that surfaced over the past decade. Serial #00000000 are far more desirable and much more difficult to locate. Truly this set will be a centerpiece of even most advanced collection of small size U.S. banknotes.

Dear Collector, Heir, or Executor: If paper money no longer holds the fascination that it once did and you are considering selling—or if you are charged with selling a collection on behalf of someone else—permit us to place your material into the hands of a new generation of enthusiastic collectors. We understand that decisions are not made lightly. Hence we will discuss the route that best suits your circumstances and maximizes your financial return. Please realize that in addition to United States paper money, our firm also handles all United States coinage form 1794-present. Outside consultants are utilized for areas such as historical autographs, fine art, stamps, and numismatics from other countries allowing us to handle nearly every estate. Some of the venues that we offer: Outright purchase: our firm has spent $1,000,000s on individual collections. Immediate funds are available. Many poorly capitalized dealers wait to pay clients until after they’ve sold an item. Our firm pays promptly via bank wire or certified funds—whichever you prefer. Private treaty: our firm has brokered single collections up to $10,000,000 at one time. Arrange auction consignment: our firm has handled more than $50,000,000 in auction consignments on behalf of our clients. This includes single sales between $3,650,000 and $9,200,000—plus countless collections in the $100,000 to $1,000,000 range. There are more factors to consider when negotiating auction terms than most people can imagine. To the inexperienced, the process can be extremely intimidating and less rewarding than when negotiated by experts. In fact, if we can’t deliver a better overall package than the auction company offers, our services are free. When the time comes to discuss distributing your holdings, we welcome the privilege of assisting you. Please call or text Frederick Bart at 586.979.3400 or [email protected] for a confidential analysis.

Page Item # Description Price Page Item # Description Price
All prices are quotes in U. S. DOLLARS, and include Insured shipping and insurance to all U.S. mailing addresses. All notes are guaranteed genuine U. S. government issued legal tender, with the exception of proof, specimen, intaglio or foreign notes that are so labeled in this catalog. If any item sold in this catalog is ever found in the future to not be genuine, a full refund of the original purchase price will be made by Executive Currency. Your satisfaction is very important to us. Every order carries a 10 day, no-questions-asked, money back guaranty, with these exceptions: 1) Any note that has been previously encapsulized by PMG, PCGS, CGA, RCGS, or CGC may not be returned for any reason, 2) Any raw note that is submitted to a grading service that comes back graded differently than we have described it, may not be returned. Any other banknote purchased from us, sent back by the original purchaser, received by us in its original condition, may be returned up to 10 days from the date you receive your order for a 100% refund. To avoid misunderstandings and to answer any and all questions, please call Bianca/Doris/Fred Bart at 1-586-979-3400 or Mike Abramson at 1-218-310-0090 to review any notes you wish to purchase. All items must be paid for within 30 days of order date, unless other arrangements have been made in writing by Executive Currency. Please inquire about special payment terms on larger purchases. There is no additional charge for the use of Pay Pal. Orders over $1000 are shipped via USPS Express Mail at no additional charge to U.S. locations. Additional mailing charges may apply to orders shipped outside of the United States. Forms of payment that ensure two business day shipping turnaround include: Discovery, VISA, MC, AMEX, PayPal, cashier’s checks, certified checks, money orders and wire transfers. Personal checks are welcome, but such checks from new clients may delay shipping for a week to allow the check to clear. We want and appreciate your business!
