B. INTRODUCTION

1. Ownership

Noranda Exploration Co., Ltd., owns 100% of the Radiore West property, with exploration conducted by the Matagami, Quebec, District office.

2. Claim Status

The Radiore West property comprises 37 claims which are presently in good assessment standing with a large amount of excess credits. Credits obtained from this program will be applied to the claims on which the drilling was undertaken, and spread as future assessment requirements deem necessary. Figure 1 displays the individual claims of this property. Assessment credits obtained from this program are directly applicable to claims 128968-5 (20%), 132235-5 (75%), and 132236-1 (5%).

3. Location and Access

This land holding is located in the southwest portion of Isle-Dieu Township (ranges III and IV), south of Lac Matagami and approximately 5 kilometres west-northwest of the town of Matagami, Quebec. The NTS reference is 32F/13. A location map is presented by Figure 2.

The southeast corner of Radiore West is 2 kilometres west-northwest of the James Bay Highway. Access is possible by use of skidder, or similar capability machine, along an old bush road which traverses the claim group. This

--

bush road intersects the James Bay Highway approximately 50 metres west of the Norita Mine hauling road. Individual work sites within the property can be readily accessed by heavy bush machines: skidder, cat, etc. Of consideration is that during warm temperature months the property is very wet.

4. Previous Work

1963-1969 Radiore Uranium Mines Limited. Geophysical Surveys. Forty-five (45) holes (approximately 36,000 feet total) mostly in the vicinity of the Cu zone or favourable horizon.

Noranda Exploration Co., Limited. Geophysical work (Mag, V.L.E.M., I.P. and Mise-à-la-masse). Basal till sampling. Geological mapping. Trenching. Eighteen (18) holes (approximately 11,000 feet total) in area of Cu zone (1975) and elsewhere on the property (1973) over weak V.L.E.M. targets. The Cu stockwork zone was not considered to be economic at this point. No immediate recommendations for drilling elsewhere on the claim group.

1980 Line cutting and I.P. survey in the eastern part of the property (toward Norita property) over extension of the productive horizon.

1981 Line cutting, geological and geophysical surveys over northeast part of the property to explore the Dumagami Rhyolite. Project associated to M-152.

1982 Re-evaluation of the property. Discharge zone hypothesis.

1983 One DDH totalling 1797' to test the Cu stringer zone on both sides of a thick gabbro sill. Best intersection 1.23% Cu 56.7' (1437.6' to 1494.3').

1984 Four holes totalling 7478' were drilled. RW-84-1 was drilled to test the Cu stringer zone north of the gabbro sill. Minor Cu mineralization was encountered. D.D.H. RW-84-2,3,4 were drilled as part of the regional stratigraphic program. In every hole, the units encountered were part of the Bell River Igneous Complex (gabbro and granophyre). Minor amount of volcanics was observed in RW-84-4.

1985 Four holes and the extension of hole 84-3 were drilled totalling 11,298'. RW-85-1 was drilled north of the Cu stringer zone on the other side of the gabbro sill and intersected mostly gabbros and minor basalts.

RW-85-2 was drilled west of RW-84-4 and it encountered gabbros and granophyre. RW-85-3 was sunk in the eastern part of the property in order to identify the Norita Horizon. RW-85-4 was drilled to test the Cu stringer zone on section 110+00W at a depth of 1700'. Only weak copper values were obtained.

1986 Two holes totalling 5064' were completed to test the Cu zone at depth. RW-86-5 was drilled on section 97+00W, east of the main stringer zone and intersected numerous gabbro sills and dykes and some moderately to highly chloritized basalts with minor amounts of

-- disseminated Cp. RW-86-6 was drilled on section 130+00W west of the main stringer zone. It intersected highly chloritized rhyolitic flows and basalt with minor tuffaceous units.

1987 Hole RW-87-7 was drilled to 2145'. It was collared NE of the stringer zone in an area where granophyre-gabbro dykes may have dilated or truncated the Norita Horizon where it may represent the top of the Cu stringer zone. A weak I.P. anomaly also was present here. The hole started and ended in gabbro. Hole RW-87-8 was drilled 4300' west of 87-7 to a depth of 2118', immediately above the Cu stringer zone. The intersected rock sequence is dominated by mafic volcanics cut by gabbro and lesser tonalite. Minor rhyolite and chloritic rhyolite was also cut.

6

1988 Compilation in conjunction with North Flank study and computer application. 48.84 miles of line were cut and chained to re-establish the pre-existing grid.

1989 Inactive.

5. Regional Geology

The Matagami Mining camp occupies the central portion of the northernmost volcanic belt in northwestern Quebec and forms part of the Superior Structural Province. The belt rests on a gneissic basement complex (to the north) and consists of folded felsic and mafic metavolcanic sequences bounded to the south by a metasedimentary band consisting of immature wackes and associated sediments, iron formations, etc.

Both the volcanic and metasedimentary sequences have undergone at least two phases of folding as well as several episodes of faulting. The Bell River Igneous Complex (gabbro, anorthosite) intrudes the axial zone of the Matagami or Allard River Anticline. Several dikes and sub-concordant sills related to the complex intrude the older metavolcanic/metasedimentary sequences.

Proterozoic diabase dikes striking in a general northeast direction intrude all the older rocks in the sector. Two major episodes of folding are easily identified in the Matagami area; the first consists of homoclinal, asymmetric flexural type folding with fold axes trending 120., the second phase consists of broad long wave length folding with axes trending 010. to 020 .

Several local disturbances are noted in various sectors, however it is not known whether these sectors indicate additional episodes of folding or strong local deformation caused by differences in rock competency.

The massive sulphide deposits in the Matagami area are of volcanogenic origin and consist of pyrite, pyrrhotite, sphalerite, chalcopyrite with minor amounts of galena, tetrahedrite, etc. The deposits are grouped along the folded limbs of the Matagami Anticline and occur in two distinct geological

--

environments. The larger and by far the richest deposits occur along the south flank of the Matagami Anticline at the contact between the Watson Lake Group (felsic volcanics) and Wabassee Group (mafic volcanics). The contact is marked by the presence of a cherty, chloritic felsic tuff unit known as the Key Tuffite. Generally the Key Tuffite occurs as a "blanket" over the sulphide deposits (Mattagami Lake, Orchan, Bell Allard South), however, the Isle-Dieu sulphide deposit appears to lie (in part) above the tuffite.

The tuffite strikes in a northwest-southeast direction and dips approximately 45 degrees to the southwest. Local variations in the dip are common. The sulphides were deposited in a quiet marine environment as evidenced by the finely laminated cherts and sediments/tuffs associated with the deposits.

7

The massive sulphide deposits on the north flank were deposited in a sector more proximal to the volcanic centre. The rocks hosting the sulphides

on the north flank consist of felsic lapilli tuffs, mafic volcanics (cap rock), and felsic to intermediate tuffs and flows.

_ The deposits on the north flank were formed in a high energy environment; this may have limited, to some extent, the size of the known deposits. The Radiore West property is located in the North Flank.

6. Property Geology

The property is characterized by a thick sequence of rhyolite and acid pyroclastic rocks (lateral equivalent to the Norita Rhyolite and Norita Fragmental Tuff), overlain by chloritized basalts and Wabassee group type mafic/spilitized pillow lavas (including some fresh rhyolite flows). Several thick granophyre-gabbro-diorite sills (dykes) cross-cut the stratigraphy at a low angle.

Extensive copper stringer mineralization has been outlined over a strike length of 3400 feet and a thickness of more than 400 feet in the southwest corner of the property. The mineralization appears to be within an alteration pipe cross cutting the lower rhyolitic unit and the overlying basalt. The mineralization consists of cross cutting qtz-carb-cp veinlets and disseminated chalcopyrite within highly chloritized rhyolite and basalt. A gabbro-diorite sill truncates the mineralized zone to the northeast.

C. DISCUSSION : DIAMOND DRILLING

1. General

The objective of exploration on the Radiore West ground is to test the Norita productive horizon over the defined 2.0 kilometres of strike length. Exploration is concentrated on locating a possible output of the extensive copper stringer zone contained by this property, and deeper massive sulphide bodies associated to the same mineralizing event. The 1990 diamond drill program tested deep below the copper stringer zone, slightly to the east.

The diamond drill contract was awarded to Forage Dominik (1981) Inc., based out of Val d'Or, Quebec. Drilling was commenced March 12, 1990, and completed April 8, 1990. Upon completion of the program one hole totalling 3549.6 feet had been drilled.

Core was recovered in BQ size and is stored at the Noranda owned Mattagami Lake Mine Site, Matagami, Quebec. Whole rock sampling was systematically conducted, and zones of interest were sampled for Au, Ag, Cu, and Zn. Whole rock samples were sent to X-Ray Laboratories of Don Mills, Ontario, and assay samples were sent to Chimitec Ltd. of St-Foy, Quebec. Drill logs, geochemistry, and sections are included at the end of this report.

8

2. Drill Hole Summary

Hole RW-90-09

Drill hole RW-90-09 was designed to test deep below the near surface Radiore West copper stringer zone. Targeting was based on modelling from the Norita and Bell Channel properties to the east where it has been displayed that potential exists for economic mineralization beneath zones of known mineralization.

Drill hole RW-90-09 is dominated by intrusive geology comprising, from — south to north, granophyre and a pervasive gabbro section. A thin tonalite phase

is contained by the gabbro.

The only volcanic stratigraphy encountered was Watson Lake rhyolite from 2780.9 to 3133.6 feet, centred at 2500 vertical feet and representing the targeted footwall of the favourable North Flank interface. This felsic horizon occurs along the interpreted depth extension of the Radiore West copper stringer zone. At this location the felsic stratigraphy does not contain significant mineralization, however, the presence of minor chalcopyrite at depth indicates that the interface remains economically potential within the Radiore West claim group. Sulphide content occurs as minor chalcopyrite associated to veinlets in moderately chloritized rhyolite from 2780.9 to 2938.5 feet, followed by 0 to 10% disseminated pyrite in brecciated and spherulitic rhyolite from 2938.5 to 3133.6 feet. The sulphides are interpreted as epi-genetic with no indications of source direction. The best assays from this rhyolite unit averaged 0.33% Cu from 2846.0 to 2870.0 feet (24.0'). Following the felsic volcanic sequence is a wide gabbro intrusive in which the hole was stopped; not allowing for testing of the mafic

-- volcanic hanging wall.

Of note is the presence of overall 0.5% disseminated chalcopyrite blebs and stringers in moderately chloritized granophyre from 36.0 (top of bedrock) to 716.4 feet. Assays from this zone include a range of 0.22% Cu over 21.4 feet, to 0.75% Cu over 4.0 feet. This zone occurs approximately 1400 feet south of the targeted felsic to mafic volcanic interface.

9

D. CONCLUSIONS

1) The 1990 drill program on the Radiore West property comprised a single drill hole (RW-90-09) to test the favourable North Flank interface deep below a known copper stringer zone.

2) The targeted footwall rhyolite was encountered at 2500 vertical feet along the expected depth extension of the Radiore West copper stringer zone. The hanging wall mafic volcanics were not intersected due to a thick gabbro intrusion as is typical to the North Flank environment.

3) Minor epi-genetic chalcopyrite (0.33% Cu/24.0') was encountered in the felsic volcanic sequence, indicating that economic copper mineralization may exist deep below the known stringer zone. This is supported by previous and limited deep drilling in the vicinity. No source direction could be determined.

4) Anomalous chalcopyrite content was discovered as disseminated blebs and stringers in a coarse granophyre body located 1400 feet south of the targeted interface.

E. RECOMMENDATIONS

1) It is recommended that diamond drill exploration for deep copper mineralization continue in the area of the Radiore West stringer zone. Plunge directions are not readily evident, however, evaluation of the abundant drill hole data is also proposed to be continued to aid in future deep drill hole targeting.

2) It is recommended that down-hole geophysical surveying of the existing deep holes be considered as a precursor to additional drilling.
