“God has not given us a spirit of fear, but ofpower and of love and of a sound mind.”2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV

Fear is something you will experience each timeyou try something new, like a new job or a newrelationship or a new investment strategy. Youwill never succeed as long as you keep giving into fear. The corporate world risks failure everytime they launch another product. The fashionworld risks failure with each new clothing line.Yet they’re willing to take multimillion-dollarrisks to improve their merchandise and boost theirsales. Do they always win? No, but without takinga risk they’ve no chance of succeeding at all. Thepoet wrote: “There was a very cautious man whonever laughed or played; he never risked, he nevertried, he never sang or prayed. And when one dayhe passed away, his insurance was denied; forsince he never really lived, they claimed he neverdied!” The fact is, we all fail! The failure rate ofthe human race is one hundred percent, andeveryone (you included) qualifies for membershipin this club. But that doesn’t mean you have tolive with the fear of failure. Faith in God is whatgives you the courage to confront your fears andlive the life He meant you to live. If you don’t,you’ll suffer the regret of “what could have been.”You’ll never be perfect, so you’ll never be

perfectly successful. That doesn’t mean you will notsucceed in life - but you must try. Fear is a “spirit,”and if you let it, it will control you. God offers youthree better options: “Power…love…a sound mind.”

…Late for Bible ClassA little girl, dressed in her Sunday best, was running as fast asshe could, trying not to be late for Bible class. As she ran sheprayed, "Dear Lord, please don't let me be late! Dear Lord, please don't let me be late!" While she was running andpraying, she tripped on a curb and fell, getting her clothesdirty and tearing her dress. She got up, brushed herself off,and started running again. As she ran she once again began topray, "Dear Lord, please don't let me be late...But pleasedon't shove me either!"
