Pope Francis’ prayer intention for October 2014 HIS GENERAL INTENTION IS…

That the Lord may grant peace to those parts of the world most battered by war and violence.

HIS MISSIONARY INTENTION IS... That World Mission Day may rekindle in every believer zeal for carrying the Gospel into all the world.

That as co-workers in the vineyard of the Lord, we may work together for the common good ...

GOSPEL MEDITATION/EVANGELIO MEDITACIÓN - October 5th/ 5 de Octubre Today’s Gospel refers to tenant who will give God “the produce [of the vineyard] at the proper times.” We are all

the new tenants of this vineyard. What have you “produced” for God?

Have you given your produce to God at the proper time?

of St. Therese of Lisieux and St. Louis de Montfort were

placed and sealed beneath the altar. From this holy place of

pilgrimage, the Virgin Mary, Mother Thrice Admirable,

Queen and Victress of Schoenstatt, welcomes us to experi-

ence a little bit of heaven on earth, and intercedes for us three

special graces:

1) The grace of finding a home - She receives us into her

heart where we are loved and accepted. and provides a place

of peace and tranquility to escape from the anxious restless-

ness of the world.

2) The grace of inner transformation - Working as mother and

educator, she guides our decision-making, strengthens, us and

leads us closer to her Son and to a place of true inner free-

dom.

3) The grace of apostolic fruitfulness - As a gentle teacher,

she sends us out as missionaries into the world to share Christ

with others, leading many souls home to God's fatherly heart.

For more information, please visit the website, https://www.schoenstatt.us or contact, Olga Salas (512) 280-0874

Saint Mary Frances

Feast Day – October 6

Saint Anna Maria Rosa, as Saint

Mary Frances was christened,

was born in Naples in 1715 of a

family that belonged to the mid-

dle class of society. Saint Mary

Frances was scarcely 4 years old

when she began to spend hours

in prayer, and sometimes arose at

night for this purpose. Such was

her desire to know the truths of

the Catholic Faith, that an angel appeared to her and instruct-

ed her regularly. Saint Mary Frances had not yet attained her

7th year when she desired to receive Holy Communion. Alt-

hough she suffered continuously, our Lord also gave Mary

Frances great graces and consolations. She received the

marks of the wounds of Christ and was granted the gift of

prophesy and of miracles. When Pius VI was crowned pope

in 1775, she beheld him in a vision wearing a crown of

thorns. Pope Pius closed his life 24 years later as a prisoner

of the French Revolution at Valence.

Santa María Francisca aún no había alcan-

Catholic Social Teaching Corner Oct. 4th & 5th : 27th Sunday of Ordinary Time

27º Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario

The readings today challenge us to ask important questions

about ourselves: What kind of tenants are we? Do we claim

the vineyard of our lives for our own and turn God out or

do we recognize that everything we have comes as gifts

from God and is to be given back in praise? As we reflect

on the gift of life and dignity given to each of us, how are

we called to show greater respect for life: for the unborn;

those on death row; the immigrants coming to our country

with or without legal permission; enemies who kill others

without regard? Where do we need to grow in love for the

life and dignity of others?
