SAFETY AND HEALTH CONFERENCE Achieving Excellence in Safety and Health!

This three-day conference is scheduled for August 26-28, 2019. The host hotel for all conference activities is the Perdido Beach Resort in Orange Beach, Alabama. There will be a general session on Monday and Wednesday mornings, along with technical breakout sessions beginning late Monday morning and all day Tuesday. General session speakers will address key issues affecting the work environment and provide pertinent information on current topics of interest. Breakout sessions will include topics covering a wide range of occupational safety, health and environmental subjects plus updates on regulatory matters. The conference program will blend new and traditional topics based on requests from past participants.

OSHA 7115 Lockout/Tagout Thursday, August 22 • 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. • Course Fee – $75

Course Outline: This course covers the role and responsibility of the employer to develop and implement an energy control program, or lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) for the protection of workers while performing servicing and maintenance activities on machinery and equipment. Course topics include types of hazardous energy, detecting hazardous conditions, implementing control measures as they relate to the control of hazardous energy, developing and implementing energy control programs including written isolation procedures, training of authorized and affected employees, and periodic inspection of energy control procedures using the OSHA Control of Hazardous Energy Standard.

OSHA 7215 Silica in Construction, Maritime and General Industry Friday, August 23 • 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. • Course Fee – $75

Course Outline: This course covers the development and implementation of controls and strategies to prevent or mitigate silica exposures in construction, maritime, and general industries. Course topics include describing the requirements of OSHA's Respirable Crystalline Silica standards and recognizing the hazards and risks, assessment options, and exposure control measures associated with silica exposure.

CONFERENCE INFORMATION Hotel Information: A block of rooms has been reserved at the Perdido Beach Resort for this conference. The available conference room rate is $116 plus 11% tax. The Perdido Beach Resort requires a three night (Sunday–Tuesday) minimum reservation. Rooms for this conference are limited and the host hotel will fll up quickly. Please pay particular attention to any special deposit/cancellation requirements listed below.

Additional Hotel Information: Hotel reservations may only be made after you have registered. Once your paid conference registration is confrmed, you will receive an email confrmation with the group number necessary to make your room reservations. When you receive the group number, you may call the hotel, toll free at 800-634-8001, to make your room reservation. You may also make reservations online by visiting www.perdidobeachresort.com and following the instructions given on your confrmation letter. Rooms are limited, so be sure to complete your conference registration and room reservation as soon as possible.

The Perdido Beach Resort will allow guests the right to cancel their individual guest room reservation without penalty up to fve days prior to arrival. Based on contracted billing arrangements, the Perdido Beach Resort will charge the individual’s credit card for three nights’ room rate for any reservations cancelled within fve days of arrival or the guest’s failure to check in. “No show” rooms will be held until 9 am the day following the arrival date on the reservation. Any remaining nights of a “no show” reservation will be cancelled and charged for three nights’ room rate.

Social Activities: Casino Night - Get to know your colleagues by attending the Las Vegas style casino from 7:30 to 10 p.m. on Monday, August 26. Start the night out by enjoying dinner at your favorite restaurant. When you return to the Perdido Beach Resort, be sure and enter the Casino, where you will be handed play money to use at the craps, black jack, roulette and wheel of fortune tables. After you break the bank, you can win some extraordinary prizes. Take advantage of this opportunity to network and win! This is included in your conference registration and in the guest meal package. However, if you wish to bring a guest to the casino only, please see the registration form.

Guest Package - Conference participant guests are invited to join all the festivities and meals with a guest package. The conference guest package includes three breakfasts, two lunches, exhibitor reception and casino night.

REGISTRATION FORM AND POLICY Registration Policy – The conference registration price is $495. This fee will be honored through August 9, 2019. Some form of payment must accompany a registration that is made by phone before it can be confrmed. A verbal registration without some form of payment does not qualify for the early fee. Registrants will receive a confrmation letter via email. Treasury regulations may permit an income tax deduction for educational expenses (registration fees, travel, meals and lodging) undertaken to maintain or improve professional skills.

CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS - If you must cancel from the conference a full refund may be granted if request is received by August 12. After August 12, an administrative fee equal to 25% of the registration fee will be charged against your refund. A refund cannot be made after August 22; however, a substitute participant may be designated. There is a $50 transfer fee for any substitution made at the conference.
