They have vast experience in managing the supply and specification of a broad range of vehicle types, from minibuses and panel vans to tippers, dropsides, boxsides and curtainsiders. We consider a number of factors when we’re helping you plan your fleet:

FLEXIBILITYAs your business grows, your fleet requirements could change. We are able to recommend commercial vehicles that can accommodate changes in payload – whether it’s a move to bulky, irregularly shaped cargo or just an increase in volume.

ENGINE EFFICIENCYChoosing the right vehicle also involves selecting the most appropriate engine. Your annual mileage, how much weight you carry and the type of journeys you make (motorway vs. city centre) will all have a bearing on what vehicle might be most appropriate.

PASSENGER SAFETYAs well as the safety features of the vehicle itself, it’s also worth considering any conversions to the inside. Ensuring the safety of your drivers and their passengers is crucial. A secure bulkhead is one way to maintain a safe driving environment and using professional, experienced providers to fit bespoke racking and equipment is another.

ACCESSThe type of business you’re running and your loading and unloading requirements will have an impact on the type of access required. You may need doors on each side of your van so you can make kerbside deliveries whichever way you’re facing or a nearside side-loading door could be sufficient. Access via a tail-lift or a dropside would also impact on the type of vehicle required.

Our conversion engineers have a full working knowledge of the very latest automotive technologies. Our suppliers provide innovative designs and we can project-manage everything, from concept to construction. As a result, you enjoy the convenience and peace-of-mind that your vehicle needs are taken care of. Our engineers add real value to your conversion experience in a number of ways:

We use Electronic Wheel/Axle Weighing Pads to accurately weigh vehicles, establishing potential overloads and achievable vehicle payloads. This ensures your new vehicle options are legally compliant.

They obtain quotations from suppliers to validate and benchmark all costs. So, you can be sure that any quote you receive will be fair and legitimate.

We create computer-aided design drawings of your vehicle, to discuss and agree with you. Once everything is signed off, we oversee all builds, and arrange meetings during the build process to check that everything is on-track and fit-for-purpose.

Once completed, we carry out a series of quality checks to make sure your new vehicle complies fully with all legislation, including Health & Safety and Whole Vehicle Type Approval requirements.

We conduct training to ensure safe operation and maximise efficiency and usage.

Our Commercial Vehicle Proactive Service Management System gives you everything you need to stay legal, operational and in control of your costs. For an agreed monthly fee, you can take advantage of specialist compliance and service management that’s tailored specifically for commercial vehicles.

By using your vehicle data to inform you when repairs are required, the system identifies issues and flags them before they affect fleet performance.

This reduces your vehicle downtime and helps you keep overall maintenance costs down. Our advanced scheduling facility helps you manage your time and resources effectively, with ‘twilight hours’ opening times, tachograph and ‘O’ Licence options. Where available, you have the ability to profile individual vehicle maintenance by specific supplier and depot.

END-OF-TERM SUPPORT

Proactive vehicle management advice.

Uncertainty over end-of-term recharges can be the biggest concern for Contract Hire customers. A well-organised vehicle assessment can relieve the pressure, by flagging issues in advance so they don’t come as a shock.

We realise that because your vehicles are working every day, it’s only fair to expect some level of wear and tear. So, rather than just charging you at the end of your lease term, we’ll work

with you to manage any maintenance and in-life repair costs while you’re still using it.

If you’re concerned about a possible recharge, you can call our team of specialist engineers before the end of your contract (usually 3 months before), and they’ll carry out a thorough vehicle condition report to BVRLA standards. This will give you enough time to make any necessary repairs before your vehicle collection date.

THE ORGANISATION:Innserve install and maintain drinks dispensing and refrigeration equipment for major drinks companies in pubs, clubs, airports and major event venues. A fleet of 350 light commercial vehicles are managed by a team of two; Simon Binks and Rachael Clarkson, award winner in Fleetworld 2014.

THE CHALLENGE:To optimise fleet management, in terms of delivering service levels demanded by customers and minimising costs.

THE APPROACH:With highly Business Critical and highly customised vans, the goal was to improve ‘uptime’ (as opposed to ‘downtime’) in partnership with Lex Autolease. This was successfully achieved through a number of joint initiatives; A Service Level Agreement (SLA) with Lex Autolease, aligned with the SLAs between Innserve and their customers. An example of which is a guaranteed 2-hour vehicle replacement agreement, 24/7, 365 days a year.

Maintenance of fully-customised and stocked reserve vehicles to ensure continuity of service to customers.

Servicing protocols, which encourage engineers to book vehicles for service overnight, or on rest-days.

Direct communication between driver and Lex Autolease, to minimise need for management intervention.

Development of an Innserve Drivers’ Quick Guide, allowing drivers to deal with most issues relating to their vehicle.

Development of collateral to help drivers in an emergency, or after an accident.
