A total of 764 students attended the 2017 Majors + Careers Expo, representing a 63% increase in total attendance at the Expo as compared to 2016 attendance. Additionally, 34 fewer College of Arts Sciences attended the 2017 Expo compared to 2016, meaning that more non-matriculated students interested in the College were drawn to this year's Expo. The metrics below relate to student attendance at the 2017 Expo and often provide comparisons to 2016. It is always interesting to listen to why they appreciate a subject and why they want students to take their courses. I liked being able to meet so many new people that were excited about my education and where I could go with it. The enthusiasm the booths had for the subject matter. talking with people passionate about their jobs. Talking to actual professors and staff who worked in departments Free candy The free stuff I loved how clear each booth was and how easy it was to obtain information. Getting to see everything that's available all laid out. Mathematics part Meeting one of the faculty of the East Asian Languages and Cultures major. Meeting with the booth of the major I'm looking to study. the professor came here and made a brief explanation of the class he taught. I enjoyed the free items that pertained to the major or career itself. Free t-shirts and talking to someone about the turkish flagship Meeting people who could tell me what I should do for my future career. very energetic environment I got to meet my Criminal Justice advisor and receive information about my degree, as well as career opportunities. I really enjoyed finding out about all the different majors being offered The free things. The people running the booths were extremely helpful and nice I liked getting a chance to talk to all the different people at all the booths. It allowed me to talk to someone about my planned second major, which I had been unable to in the past. I think I would have larger walking area or a set path that people go through. It was difficult getting through the crowds. A map at the front with all of the majors and their locations in the fair. less fair-like and more of a presentation I did not experience lot of emphasis on careers More people advertising and helping to explain A map of each booth would have been very helpful. It was a little overwhelming trying to figure out how to navigate it. More organization of it's possible. More books about some majors A map of the place, put it on the wall in multiple places so people don't have to wander around or ask for directions a map More organization More free stuff. Don't get me wrong I got a TON of free stuff but hey I like more free stuff. Given the professor's name and the class he taught before at the advertisment. I think there could be a map or guide that showed you where the specific majors and careers were located. Maybe get a bigger space or spread out a little more? Better organization- it was difficult to navigate and hard to tell how everything was laid out Maybe having more interactive activities for each station would help gain attraction for the different majors and organizations.
