About the Institute for Worship Studies...The Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies is the only school in North America dedicated to graduate education in worship. Our mission is to form leaders in worship renewal. Our courses are based on the conviction that authentic worship is rooted in the biblical narrative, draws from the rich treasures of Christian history, and is committed to glorifying God in the postmodern context.
“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:23-24)
The Rev. Dr.
Constance Cherry My mission is to train church leaders to develop & lead corporate worship services that are biblically based, Christ-centered, pleasing to God and engaging for 21st century
Worship tells and acts out the Christ-
event. In this sense, the order of
worship comes from above, and not
from below. Worship is patterned
after God who revealed and God who
become incarnate. Therefore, the
twofold focus of worship is the Word
(the Bible as the symbol of God
speaking) and the Table (bread and
wine as the symbol of God acting to
save us). Robert E. Webber

The Rt. Rev Gregory O. The Rev. Dr. Lester RuthA historian of Christian worship and is passionate about enriching the worship life of the church.
