The Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies is the only school in North America dedicated to graduate education in worship. Our mission is to form leaders in worship renewal. Our courses are based on the conviction that authentic worship is rooted in the biblical narrative, draws from the rich treasures of Christian history, and is committed to glorifying God in the postmodern context. “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:23-24) The Rev. Dr. Constance Cherry My mission is to train church leaders to develop & lead corporate worship services that are biblically based, Christ-centered, pleasing to God and engaging for 21 st century Worship tells and acts out the Christ- event. In this sense, the order of worship comes from above, and not from below. Worship is patterned after God who revealed and God who become incarnate. Therefore, the twofold focus of worship is the Word (the Bible as the symbol of God speaking) and the Table (bread and wine as the symbol of God acting to save us). Robert E. Brewer Bishop of Central Florida My deep desire is that in the midst of genuinely sacrificial mission we never forget eating and drinking, laughter and joy and knowing all that we share, as we literally gather together, even here, as a foretaste of the heavenly banquet of Christ. The Rev. Dr. Lester Ruth A historian of Christian worship and is passionate about enriching the worship life of the church. He believes that careful reflection on the worship of other Christians—whether past or present, whether Protestant, Roman Catholic, or Eastern Orthodox—can serve to enrich the church today. The Rev. Dr. Reggie Kidd Professor of New Testament at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando. His most recent book is With One Voice: Discovering Christ’s Song in Our Worship. He is a columnist, member of the editorial board and conference staff for Worship Leader Magazine contributing a regular column entitled “One Voice.”
