• By using the Advantys configuration software it is very simple to export a configuration specific Island node into RSNetWorx for use with Rockwell masters.The complexity of the island does not matter,whether you have CANext devices such as drives or valve blocks ,regular island extensions or HMI words the configured exported file contains all the data with the proper transmission type already chosen. This makes integration a simple export (out of the Advantys Configuration Software) followed by a simple 1 file import (into RSNetWorx) there by saving lots of commissioning and configuration time and effort.

• For this example we used the following Advantys STB hardware

1. NDN2212 Devicenet NIM2. PDT 3100 24vdc3. STBDDI3725 16 channel discrete

input4. STBDDO3705 16 channel discrete

output5. STBART0200 2 channel RTD input6. STBACO1225 2 channel 4-20mA

output7. XMP100 termination plate 8. XBE2100 CANext connected via

CAN open to the ATV31 VFD

• After assembling the modules in the Advantys Configuration software and performing a successful build, we can now export this configuration as a single file to be placed into RSNetWorx (this same export can be used with other manufacturers masters as well as the Sycon configuration software)

• Under the edit tab you find the export utility with the name of the Island file you are going to export (in this case the Island is named “integration”)

• Now choose a path to export the EDS file to.

• Some Masters have character limits on the title of an EDS so you can choose to use a short file descriptor

• Click the ok button and your configuration specific file will export to your designated path

Start the RSNetworx for Devicenet software

From the tools barChoose EDS wizard

From RSNetWorx choose your Scanner Module. In this case we will choose the 1769-SDN for the Micrologix 1500 PLC. The steps that follow would be similar for any other Rockwell Master chosen.

Now choose the importedEDS file. We know thatThis configuration had 18 Bytes of input and 10 bytesOf output data

Double click on the Scanner moduleAnd add the Advantys node to the Scan list and you are done
