2. What is AEC?
501 3c Nonprofit,started in 2006 with 25 middle school youth
By 2008, AEC began renting space in the Ottosonwith 85 middle school youth enrolled
We are a middle school and high school youth community organization
Programs AEC offers:
Afterschool Program from 2:30-6:30 in the Ottoson
Enrichment Workshops from 3:30-4:30 in the Ottoson
The Basement-a middle school teen night every two months, borrowing space at the Senior Center
High School Enrichment Workshop, 5-7p at the Gibbs Gym(NEW for Fall 2010)
3. About the Afterschool Program @AEC
The Ottoson hosts an AM/PM program
7:00-8:00am
2:30-3:30pm
Small fee
Not Affiliated with AEC
The afterschool program enrolls around 50 middle school youth per day
Tuesday is our highest enrolled day
We run from 2:30-6:30p everyday
We have a daily schedule
The afterschool program includes opportunities to participate in the AEC enrichment workshops at no extra cost
4. Our Daily Schedule

  • The Media Center is open to AEC youth from 3:30-5:30,the 3:30-4:30 hour is complete silence and used only for homework, no quiet activities or computer browsing until after 4:30

5. Homework support is provided by honor students from the Arlington High School 6. Get Moving activities offer 2-3 different options per day to capture everyones interests from the dancers to the athletes
