few of them which gave the judges a better opportunity to select the winners.

Right after the picking session was the distribution of food for dinner, everyone

was again asked to go at the back to claim their food. While eating, some took the

opportunities to take photos anywhere else inside. After that was the announcement

The Watson Program

By Christian Manlapaz & Jhanella Mino

The Watson Program is built to understand the nuance of natural language, this new service allows

researchers to process millions of data points normally impossible for humans to handle. Unlike It's

predecessor's Watson can reduce project timelines from years to weeks or day.

The ability to understand natural language difference is a big deal. You can ask, for example: “I’m

going to be in Manila. I like basketball. What do you suggest, Watson?” You might get several answers:

Ateneo, Adamson, tickets, Ateneo , Adamson, tickets. Or in the offseason, Watson may suggest you drive

to the Basketball Practices of each universities. Companies are already using Watson this way. Fluid, Inc.’s

Watson-based retail solutions deliver granular results to different questions such as “I am taking my wife

and three children camping in Bulacan in

December and I need a tent.” Consider this:

Watson has been taught to pass the medical

boards. Would you trust it to diagnose you

and prescribe medication? What if you claim

to be in pain (e.g., back pain, migraines,

depression) and Watson doesn’t believe your

subjective input? Here’s more food for

thought: What if Watson could learn to code?

Why not? It’s hardly heretical to suggest that

as Watson works with developers, it will one

day be able to generate solutions based on a

natural language difference. That’s equally

exciting and worrisome.

Yes, Watson can process millions of bytes of data, it is fascinating knowing and using this kind of data-

technology but it can only be used and transformed by a human. May it be a transformation from the

coders or Watson itself, a thing that is to be worried or exciting about it is only on the limit of a humans

imagination.

Justice or Ratings? By Franz Ian Angeles (Grade 9 - Baltazar)

Exciting, entertaining, provocative and fun to watch.... Nowadays, people are not afraid of

complaining because they know the media will listen to their complaints but is this a good thing or a bad

thing?

On the November 18 episode of “Raffy Tulfo in Action” after a 47-year-old grandmother complained

about a teacher who asked her grandchild to step out of the classroom over their failure to return their

report card on time. The teacher admitted wrongdoing, apologized and explained that she just meant to

teach her pupil a lesson on discipline.

“Ikaw na kusa magresign sa iyong trabaho at maging sa PRC (Professional Regulation Commission),

ilalakad namin at sasangayunan mo na ikaw ay matanggalan ng license o ilaban mo sa korte,” Tulfo told

the teacher.

Tulfo initially threatened to file child abuse charges against the teacher for ‘traumatizing’ the student,

but changed his mind after the student's parents proposed to deny the teacher career eligibility instead.

The teacher agreed to have her license revoked after Tulfo threatened her that they would make sure that

she ends up in jail.

“Dito sa mabilisang kaso, sa child abuse dito ka namin yayariin … Yayariin ka talaga namin,” he told

her on his show.

But something happened..the television and radio personality backtracked on Friday saying the

teacher would not be sued anymore. After receiving backlash on social media, Tulfo said that his next

decision will depend on the society or his fans, the supporters of the show. But he asserted that the teacher

must still be sanctioned and taught “maximum tolerance."

The Department of Education also released an official statement regarding the issue on Saturday,

November 23, which states that a proper deliberation to discuss concerns involving educators must be

followed and respected

An online petition has also been started to give support for the school teacher.

We can see that Tulfo messed up a little bit, but he grabbed that opportunity to make it right. Like Raffy

said "I'm not perfect, I also make mistakes" for now he continues to help people. But do you ever think if

what Tulfo is doing is just for ratings or really for Justice?

“Strength” By Franz Ian Angeles Be happy with what you have While working for what you want. Do not allow negative people to turn you into one of them. Please remember that your greatest talent is so much more powerful than your biggest fear. I am not as good as I want to be, Not as great as I will be, But thank God I’m much better than I used to be.

"New Trend Tito Raffy" By Franz Ian Angeles

Exciting, entertaining, provocative and fun to watch.... Nowadays, people are not afraid of complaining because they know there's something or someone who can help them to have justice and peace.

November 18 episode of “Raffy Tulfo in Action” after a 47-year-old grandmother complained about a teacher who asked her grandson to step out of the classroom over his failure to return his report card on time. The teacher admitted wrongdoing, apologized and explained that she just meant to teach her pupil a lesson on discipline.

“Ikaw na kusa magresign sa iyong trabaho at maging sa PRC (Professional Regulation Commission), ilalakad namin at sasangayunan mo na ikaw ay matanggalan ng license o ilaban mo sa korte,” Tulfo told the teacher.

Tulfo initially threatened to file child abuse charges against the teacher for ‘traumatizing’ the student, but changed his mind after the student's parents proposed to deny the teacher career eligibility instead. The teacher agreed to have her license revoked after Tulfo threatened her that they would make sure that she

ends up in jail. “Dito sa mabilisang kaso, sa child abuse dito ka namin yayariin … Yayariin ka talaga namin,” he told her on his show. But something happened..the television and radio personality backtracked on Friday saying the teacher would not be sued anymore. After receiving backlash on social media."Netizen Power" Tulfo said that his next decision will depend on the society or his fans, the supporters of the show. But he asserted that the teacher must still be sanctioned and taught “maximum tolerance." The Department of Education also released an

official statement regarding the issue on Saturday, November 23, which states that a proper deliberation to discuss concerns involving educators must be followed and respected

An online petition has also been started to throw support for the school teacher. We can see that Tulfo messed up a little bit, but he grabbed that opportunity to make it right. Like Raffy

said "I'm not perfect, I also make mistakes" for now he continue to help people. But do you ever think what will happen if Tulfo will be involved like the situation of the people he helped?

Teacher’s Day Celebration By Mariell Dalusong

Teachers serve as our second parents. They love, care, inspire and protect students like their own children. This year at Fernandez College or Arts and Technology, we celebrated Teacher’s Day on October 5, 2019. This simple and heart-felt celebration was for all our teachers who are very special and dear to us. It is also our way to show that we appreciate their efforts in teaching and guiding us all.

A love song was played as the event started. With each of the teachers having students as escorts, one by one, they went to the stage snapped some pictures and took a seat. They might not say it but we can see that our teachers are excited for this year’s celebration of Teacher’s Day.

The Student Council headed by the adviser Mrs.Ailriss B. Patawaran and school’s Prime Minister Mariell Dalusong organized the program. The Masters of the Ceremony were Charisse Alvea Malaluan (Grade 10 student) and Mia Olaera (Grade 9 student). The program started with a prayer followed by the singing of the National Anthem conducted by Karen Mea Sumooc (Grade 10 student).

Next was the Intermission Number by the Student Council members, where they showed their energetic and fun-filled dance moves. A heart-warming song number is given by Clarisse Reichelle Marcos afterwards.

After the presentations done by the students, the SC prepared some exciting games for the teachers to play. First on the list was the Guessing Game where the selected student actors and actresses will demonstrate a teacher’s habit or characteristics. All of the students had the chance to guess which teacher is like that. The winner got a prize of candies which made the teachers smile.

The next game was a group game where the players need to assemble a tower made of cups, the fastest group would win. The last game was Trip to Jerusalem where the teacher’s needed to show a little bit of dancing while circling around the

chairs. It was really fun as all of the teachers joined excitedly and danced happily. After the games, the SC played a video presentation for the teachers. It showed throwback and present pictures of all the

teachers including us, their students, family and loved ones. It was such a beautiful moment for both of the teachers and students. Mariell B. Dalusong, the school’s Prime Minister gave a heartfelt message of thanks. Each teacher was also given recognition.

At the end of the program, teachers were also given handwritten letters and simple gifts. The SC opened their photo booth to make the day even more special. Every photograph is a beautiful memory captured for a lifetime. To all our teachers, we would like to say thank you for everything.

The students of Fernandez College of Arts and Technology (FCAT) High School Department competed in the annual 2019 EDDIS Level Secondary Schools Press Conference (Public and Private) last September 12, 2019 at Alexis G. Santos National High School in Bustos, Bulacan.

At around 7:00 am they boarded a jeepney to Bustos Bulacan. When they arrived some of the participants told some jokes to ease the tension and nervous that all the participants’ felt as they reached the host school. They went to the registration area and their teachers guided them to their assigned rooms.

As the competition started, all the teachers from different schools including us waited at the covered court area. Around 12 noon some of the students were already finished. When all the students had finished, they enjoyed their lunch at the cafeteria. Even though the weather was not good, they enjoyed the hours that passed before the announcement of the winners.

According to the students they competed against 80+ students from all over Bulacan. However they still wanted to prove that they are worthy of being journalists. Even though that they don't have enough training for this competition, they still fought hard and never gave up.

And the hours passed, the competition started for the announcement of winners. They were so lucky to have Abigail Javier (Grade 9) who bagged the 7th place in Editorial Writing (English). Even though not all the FCAT students won, they were still proud of themselves for being journalists and they did their best for the competition.
