communities where AFMC has installations or a major organization

Meets twice annually to: Hear updates on important AFMC and Air Force

issues Share information with the AFMC commander Brainstorm ideas of mutual benefit across the

command

Workforce At Wright-Patterson:

30% of the current workforce hold STEM related positions

Projected STEM job growth over the next five years is 180 jobs per year

Average civilian attrition is 700-1,000 every year 60% of the workforce is retirement eligible

Translation: 7,800 people are currently eligible to retire

Inspiring the next generation 15 additional education-centered tours, 488 students -- high school

classes, ROTC and Engineer for a Day Focus is on five surrounding counties, but help anyone who asks Local civic and professional organizations lend labor and funds

when available. 2010 Impact: 1,707 students, 193 teachers Supported by 81 scientists/ engineers and 207 volunteers Program funded by center FY 07-10 Center received funds from DoD’s National Defense Education

Program in late FY10. Funds pending for FY11, and FY12 funding uncertain.

AEDC prime contactor, ATA has been carrying lion’s share of work load until AF can hire NDEP manager.
