Optical Fibre based self-monitoring Motor Drives Scope: Development of an fibre-optic sensor system for multi-parameter self-monitoring motor drives. Goal: Enhanced reliability of electrical machines and their time-to-failure prediction (adaptive parameter estimation algorithms, lifetime models). Purpose: Development of test setup to investigate the integration of FBGs into the electrical drive components and the machine itself.
