Apprenticeships

2 apprenticeships

Apprenticeships are an excellent way to grow your own talent and develop a skilled and motivated workforce.

Grow your own talent

As businesses face an increasingly competitive market place, ensuring your workforce is properly trained is vital.Research by the National Apprenticeship Service shows the majority of employers who take on apprentices report increases in productivity, lower costs and higher profits.

Other benefits include improved products or services, new ideas being introduced to the organisation, better morale among staff and lower staff turnover.

Apprenticeships can be completed by existing staff, who want to develop their careers, or by someone who has joined the company in an Apprenticeship role. There are also grants available to help companies meet the cost of taking on apprentices.

Working with a training provider who understands the needs of the learner and your company is crucial to the success of each Apprenticeship.

As an approved training organisation, we can help you with every step of the Apprenticeships programme.

Printing to IT services company Contrac has taken on an apprentice to work in its busy warehouse.Andrew Corlyon was given the chance to fulfil his ambition of securing an Apprenticeship following the retirement of the Beverley-based company’s warehouse manager.

Operations director Melanie Hopper said:

“We wanted to make sure we continued to operate efficiently, while also giving a chance to an apprentice.

“It’s going really well. Andrew has fitted right in. Once the Apprenticeship finishes, we hope to be able to offer him a job. We would much rather have someone we know than take on somebody we don’t know.”

Melanie said the partnership with TIR has been positive from the start.

“TIR are local, so you know you are speaking to someone on the doorstep,” she said. “They are always available and we are keen to do business with local businesses.”

Andrew joined Contrac after completing the Employability Skills Course for jobseekers at TIR.
