Thank you to our wonderful school community

We must say another HUGE thank you to our school community for continuing to support us with our amazing ‘outdoor learning’ project. Café Church online this Sunday!

Do join us for the Cranmer Group’s monthly Café Church service this Sunday, July 5th - our service starts online, at www.cranmergroup.org.uk at 9.30AM for half an hour, including fun stuff for our children. Then grab your coffee and bacon sandwiches, before joining us on Zoom at 10.15AM for a chat. If you haven’t joined us before, do give it a try - I promise we’re very friendly! And if you cannot join us on Sunday morning, catch up any time via the Cranmer Kids YouTube page - details of how to do all of this, including Zoom, are on the Cranmer Group website www.cranmergroup.org.uk. Hope to see you there! Best wishes and God bless, Rev. Tim Chambers

Looking to the Rainbow

A huge well done and thank you to all of the children who sent in videos to be a part of our ‘Looking to the Rainbow’ virtual choir, as part of Faith at Home. I am sure that you will all agree that the song sounds just fantastic! What fantastic singing voices

you have! Another big thank you and well done to Mrs Lock, too for her technical wizardry in putting the videos together. The video will be something to treasure forever.

Black Lives Matter At Archbishop Cranmer, we strive to promote equality and celebrate diversity in all its forms. We feel it is important to address, reflect and discuss the ongoing events across the world and in the news with our young leaners and support our parents and carers in also discussing these topics with your children. As we are not currently able to have these conversations in the classroom, we have created a bank of home learning resources which can be used to facilitate this at home: https://www.archbishopcranmer.co.uk/black-lives-matter-3/ Scan the QR code to listen to these stories, which promote diversity:

There are more links, just like these, on our website if you follow the above link.

Sporting Achievements at Home This week we would have been taking part in our annual Potted Sports and Sports Day festivities, however lots of you have been busy taking part in the Active Notts School Games Challenge activities and the FACS 7 day Physical Challenge at home throughout lockdown. Year 1 and 2 have even been busy this term finding out all about the Olympics as part of their home learning topics, where Year 1 made their very own laurel crowns. It is great to see so many of you cycling, too!

Remember, you can explore lots of exciting activities and ideas to keep active here:

Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) Consultation In line with the updated, statutory government guidelines on the teaching of RSE, we have opened a consultation to share our proposed new scheme of work, a sample of exemplar resources and updated policy. These can be found under the new Relationships and Sex Education page on the school website, under the key information section. As part of this consultation, we ask you to complete the following questionnaire, available at: https://tinyurl.com/RHSEconsultation by Friday 17th July. There will be further oppoprtunity to discuss our RSE Curriculum and our provision for Special Educational Needs and Disabilites at our Parent and Carer Forum which is being held virtually on Thursday 9th July at 3:45pm. For further information, please see: https://www.archbishopcranmer.co.uk/parent-forum/ If you would like to attend, please contact the school office.

And finally…

We always teach the children at Archbishop Cranmer about PERSEVERANCE and RESPONSIBILITY.

You will often hear staff telling children “Go on, have a go!” “You can do it!” “Adventure on!”

We want our children to be willing to TRY - and to keep trying - even when they find things difficult. And being RESILIENT and RESPONSIBLE are life skills that we all need ……

especially over the past few months. Everyone at school is SO proud of all the children whether they are at home or at school. They have been NON-STOP resilient and responsible! Quite simply just amazing. We know that things are still difficult; we know that life is still not ‘normal’; but we also know that as a school community WE CAN DO THIS, that a

‘new normal’ is on the horizon, and that there is light at the end of the tunnel. KEEP GOING – and remember that we are ALL IN THIS TOGETHER!
