The book of Acts tells us that Jesus ascended into heaven. This site on the Mt of Olives is traditional remembered as that place.

Garden of Gethsemane
On the night he was betrayed, Jesus was on the Mt of Olives in the Garden called Gethsemane.
It was Passover and he knew his life was in danger. He also knew that he could walk up and over the Mount of Olives and in 10 minutes he would be in the safety of the Judean Wilderness.
But Jesus chose to stay and face the cross.
Groups come to the Garden of Gethsemane to remember how Jesus prayed on the night that he was arrested.
