Students seeking endorsement as a teacher of students with disabilities must complete an endorsement in the area of Adaptive or Functional Special Education. These program courses can be taken concurrently with ASD courses and will count towards the Master’s degree. Some ASD courses may substitute for some endorsement requirements, but check with an advisor before planning a program. The University of Kansas may have federal grant dollars to support a limited number of students in the ASD master’s degree program. Grant recipients must be able to work as teachers or related service professionals after graduation. First priority goes to full time gradu- ate students. Part time students are also eligible to apply for partial tuition reimbursement support under this grant. To learn more about this grant and how to apply go to www2.ku.edu/~autism.
