2019 HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION Friday, June 7th

6:00pm

Graduation will be held again at JUMP in

downtown Boise.

Guests should plan to arrive with time to find seats. With graduation scheduled to begin at 6:00pm, we will begin to take

tickets at the door at 5:15pm.

Due to maximum occupancy requirements at the Pioneer Room in JUMP, we have

issued a designated amount of free tickets to each graduate. These tickets will be used for family members/loved ones to attend the commencement ceremonies. They will be collected at the door upon

entrance to the ceremony.

We will not have a formal lunch. We are working with Life’s Kitchen to hopefully provide a sack lunch to those who signed up for hot

lunch. Those students will be able to eat while waiting for buses to arrive about 12:30pm.

UPCOMING EVENTS & IMPORTANT DATES

ORIENTATION FOR INCOMING MIDDLE SCHOOLERS

Tuesday, June 11th 6:00pm - 8:00pm

This year we would like to invite all incom-ing 6th thru 8th grade students to a night

of orientation for our middle school at Sage. This will be a set up in with an

open house/station setting with current families and students there, as well as middle school staff on hand to answer

questions.

IMPORTANT DATES FOR INCOMING KINDERGARTENERS

Tuesday, June 4th 6:00pm - 7:00pm

We are excited to have our incoming Sage kindergarteners join us this fall! Before then, we have a couple of important dates. We will send out more specifics, but please save the date for these two events.

On Tuesday, June 4th at 6:00pm, the Sage Kindergarten Team will hold a Parent Information Night. Teachers

will share what your child’s day will look like and what you can do to prepare them for August. We will be sending out a student information form that we ask you to have completed prior to joining us on June 4th.

On Tuesday, August 6th from 12:00pm - 4:00pm, we are holding a kindergarten screener. Expect this to take

about an hour of your time. As we get closer to the date, we will send out an invitation to sign up for a specific time for you and your child. Staff will complete academic and speech screening with your child. We

will also have the Lion’s Club on site for vision and hearing screening, as well as our school nurse.

NOT RETURNING TO SAGE?

Please fill this Google form out if your child is NOT returning to Sage for the 2019-20 school year. This infor-mation is helpful for us to plan, budget, and potentially offer new enrollment seats to students on our Waiting

List for this next school year. If you have more than one child NOT returning to Sage, please complete separate forms. Your response is greatly appreciated.

VOLUNTEERS FOR NATURAL PLAYGROUND NEEDED!

WORKING PARTY DAY Saturday, June 8th 8:00am to 12:00pm

WELL, WE STARTED IT, NOW WE NEED HELP FINISHING IT…..

In the last 12 weeks, the 11th grade DT students helped design, build and bring to life several landscape features we have been working on around the school and on the playground. There are a few projects that were started that we could use help

with finishing, we have just ran out of time.

Unfinished Projects:

Tiered seating area at the entrance of the school (team of 6) Installation of a screen fence for protection of the landscaping (currently cordoned off) (team of 3) The completion of the tunnel landscaping (team of 4) The completion of the log edging around the natural playground (team of 6)

We are hoping to have a work party with the number of people needed, shown above. We will get done what we can. Please email Miss Lex or Guy Falconer and RSVP if you can help. Thank you!

CAMP INVENTION - ALL GIRLS STEM CAMP This is the 6th year Camp Invention has come to Sage to offer the only ALL-GIRLS STEM camp in Idaho! This is put on with an ALL Sage Teachers and Student Interns staff! Camp Invention is a high-energy, hands-on STEM camp. Supercharge your world! Experience the all-new 2019 Camp Invention® program, where campers will take on fun, hands-on challenges that encourage creative problem solving, STEM application, innovation, collaboration and confidence! This is an exciting, weeklong summer adventure with les-sons that explore connections between science, technology, engineering and innovation. Girls work together to create solutions to real-world problems and build critical 21st-century skills while rotating through several high-energy, hands-on modules. ENGINEERING FOR KIDS BOISE METRO (Summer)

Set the foundation for your child's career at the best STEM Summer Camps for kids ages 4-14. Our Summer Camps will help students gain valuable 21st Century skills that will help them be successful in life. Camps are catered to support various age groups taking into consideration the physical, social, and cognitive development of our students.

ZERO ROBOTICS TEAM 2019 (Summer)

Zero Robotics is an innovative and inspiring program for middle school students that is truly out of this world! The five-week STEM curriculum introduces students to computer programming, robotics, and space engineering, and provides hands-on experience programming SPHERES (Synchronized, Position, Hold, Engage, Reorient, Experimental Satellites). The program culminates in a tournament where winning teams’ SPHERES compete aboard the International Space Sta-tion (ISS). Middle school participants will get to see the SPHERES operate in space via a live feed from the ISS while NASA astronauts provide real-time commentary.

Zero Robotics seeks to inspire our next generation of great minds by allowing them unprecedented access to space at the middle school level. By making the benefits and resources of the International Space Station tangible to students, Zero Robotics hopes to cultivate an appreciation of science, technology, engineering and math through healthy, immer-sive, collaborative competition.

HIP-HOP SUMMER CAMPS

Little Hip Hop: Entering Grades 1-2

(Maximum 24 students - first come, first served) Exclusive summer camp for incoming first and second graders! Our younger kids will work on discipline, coordination, and confidence while learning musical theater and basic hip-hop moves to popular songs. A great work-out for energetic, fun-loving kids, taught by professional choreographer, playwrite, and performer, Kerith Telestai, or “Mrs. T.” as she’s known around Sage. Tennis shoes, water bottle, and work-out clothes recommended. Non-Sage kids are welcome, so spread the word and invite friends! Your child’s spot is secured once registration and payment are complete. Please commit to attending every day. Dates: July 8-12, with a performance on the last day Time: 9:00am-9:50am (Supervised drop-off begins at 8:55; supervised pick-up until 9:55) Cost: $35 Location: Performing Arts Room #177 (main building)

Hip Hop & Musical Theatre: Entering Grades 3-5

(Maximum 32 students - first come, first served) Specially geared for upper elementary school students, we will learn basic to intermediate hip-hop moves to popular songs and tie it all together in a musical theatre format. For campers with prior performing arts experience and beginners alike, this camp offers an exciting approach to acting, singing, and dancing. A fun, non-cheesy outlet for energetic boys and girls! Taught by professional choreographer, playwrite, and performer, Kerith Telestai, or as Sage kids call her, “Mrs. T." Tennis shoes, water bottle, and work-out clothes recommended. Non-Sage kids are welcome, so spread the word and invite friends! Your child’s spot is secured once registration and payment are complete. Please commit to attending every day. Triple-Threat!!! Entering Grades 6-9

(Maximum 30 students - first come, first served) Mrs. T. is back for the summer! This time, we get 2 weeks together to learn a full-length science musical. It’s not cheesy, I promise! We will learn several top radio hits whose lyrics have been changed to become outrageously funny parodies. Be a “triple-threat” by gaining mad skills in hip-hop dance, acting, and singing. Tackle your stage-fright in a safe environment, and have a blast while getting a killer workout and learning an entire unit of science! Great for stu-dents with prior performing arts experience and beginners alike. Non-Sage kids are welcome, so spread the word and invite friends! Taught by professional choreographer, musician, and playwrite, Kerith Telestai. Tennis shoes, water bottle, snack, and work-out clothes recommended. Please commit to attending every day. A NOTE FROM NURSE P

REQUIRED IMMUNIZATIONS FOR THE 2019-20 SCHOOL YEAR

We are notifying parents of student's who are missing required immunizations by email. Please check your email inbox and consult with your doctor to ensure your child's immunizations are up-to-date. Students with-out required immunizations may be unable to attend school until immunizations are current, so please make this a priority. In particular, students entering 7th grade are required to have two additional immunizations: Tdap & Meningococcal. If you have a 6th grader going into 7th next year, please make sure your child re-

ceived these two immunizations before school resumes in August.

STUDENT HEALTH CHANGES OVER THE SUMMER?

If your student's health changes over the summer break and will impact them when they return to school in August, please notify Nurse Palaia in early August.
