Photo of theWeek From the Principal We are already just past the halfway point of the 5irst quarter. Much time and effort has been put into starting the year strong with family meetings, activities to get to know each individual student, establishing classroom procedures and routines and setting the groundwork for focusing on a challenging academic curriculum by teachers and students. Some ways that you can help your child have a successful year are by setting up routines at home such as a homework and bedtime routines, spending time just talking with your child, playing games together and reading together every night. We are looking forward to parent/teacher conferences on October 16 and 17. If you have not had the opportunity to set up a time to meet with your child’s teacher, please let them know. Our goal is to meet with all BES families. Communication is key to a successful year for your child. Our biweekly Bluejay Bulletin and class newsletters are sent home electronically to save paper and printing costs. Please make sure that your child’s classroom teacher has a current email address to send these items and other important information to you. If you do not have access to a computer or email please let your child’s teacher or the of5ice know, so we can get paper copies sent home with your child. Special thanks to all families that participated in our BBT trash bag sale. Money earned through our parent organization (Basehor Bluejay Team) provides funding for 5ield trips throughout the year, playground equipment, and many other educational items used in the classrooms. This past year we were able to purchase science supplies and technology equipment for classrooms and the library with monies earned. Trash bag orders may be picked up on Friday, September 20 from 5-8 p.m. in the front circle drive of BES. Thank you for your continued support!
