What a fun event! Our next BBT meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 3rd at 6:30 p.m. in the Basehor Elementary Library. We welcome all parents to attend. Special thanks to all families that participated in our BBT trash bag sale. Money earned through our parent organization (Basehor Bluejay Team) provides funding for field trips throughout the year, playground equipment, and many other educational items used in the classrooms. Trash bag orders may be picked up on Friday, September 29 from 5-8 p.m. or Saturday, September 30 from 10 a.m.– 2 p.m. Mid Term grades have been made available on Skyward for our 1 st and 2 nd grade students. Kindergarten families received a paper copy of the Mid Term Report last Friday. Please be sure to visit with your child’s teacher at Parent/Teacher conferences or email if you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s grades. Thank you for being a valuable BES team member in supporting your child’s education! Conferences are scheduled for Wednesday, October 18 from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday, October 19, from 1-7 p.m. Due to the conference schedule, school will not be in session for students on both Thursday, October 19, and Friday, October 20. We will have a full day of school on Wednesday, October 18. If you have not made an appointment with your child’s teacher, please contact the school and we will help you to schedule an appointment. We are striving to have 100% of our students represented by at least one parent/guardian for conferences. Every child’s education is a team effort between school and home! The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, In downtown Kansas City, MO., is hosting an American Indian Cultural Celebration on Sunday, September 24th, from 10 am - 4 pm.It is free admission and open to the public. Kansas City celebrates the vibrant cultural and artistic expressions of Native Americans, featuring the Haskell Indian Nations University Dancers, art activities,storytelling, games, and demonstrations. Special thanks to all families that participated in our BBT trash bag sale. BBT News....... Greetings from BBT!! Thank you to all of the families who have joined BBT. We couldn’t do what we do without your support. We will know the winners of membership drive soon. ! We hope the kids enjoyed riding in the parade on BBT’s float, especially those who were first timers. ! Reminder, trash bag pick up will be Friday, the 29th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm or Saturday the 30th 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. We are in need of volunteers to help distribute the trash bags during these pick up times. You can sign up to help at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0e4ca8ad2aa64-trash2.! There are plenty of opportunities to volunteer and support our teachers coming up.  October 4th is the first Care Cart for our staff. Help us provide delicious treats for them to enjoy throughout the day.  On October 18th, BBT will be providing a luncheon for our teachers on the long conference day. From the Library Happy Fall Everyone! Save the date…BES Book Fair will be held November 6-9. More information coming at the end of October. Basehor-Linwood Assistance Services (BLAS)

!! Basehor-Linwood Assistance Services (BLAS) is a not-for-profit organization which serves the needs of needy individuals living in the Basehor-Linwood School District. Services include food, utility expenses, and holiday assistance. All requests are handled confidentially. Please call 724-2077 and leave a message, and the coordinator will call you back.! BLAS is gearing up for the holiday season with our Adopt-A-Family program. BLAS helped 34 needy families last year and hopes to have enough support to help those in need. If any organization, business or individual would like to donate money or adopt a child, please contact the above number. Thanks for making the days brighter for others.
