Father's Day Fudge Sale As a small community, we recognise and value the wonderful support our local businesses continue to give to us and we are hoping to work with as many as we are able to, especially 'during these times'.

This time, we have partnered with the team at Vickers Fudge to bring you our Father's Day Fudge Sale. Order forms were sent home this week and are due back no later than THIS FRIDAY August 28th.

Make sure you order for every man and his dad and throw in a couple extras for yourself. Orders will be sent home on Friday the 4th of September, so keep an eye out. Payments are to be made to the P&C via bank transfer, details on order form, as we are not accepting cash for these orders, sorry.

We will be having a variation on our Father's Day stall on Friday the 4th of September, where students will be able to purchase one piece of fudge each, so if you wish to have more for the other men in their lives, pop it on your order form. Dough Raiser We are waiting for final figures from our meal deal and Dominos for the Dough Raiser last Wednesday, but so far it looks to be a very profitable fundraiser. It is events like these that allow the P&C to purchase much needed resources for the school and the students. On behalf of the committee I would like to thank everyone who ordered a pizza or took part in the meal deal. Also thank you to the wonderful canteen committee who organised this event.

Next meeting We will be having a special meeting Thursday night at 6pm to vote in another merit selection panellist. Only current, financial members can vote on this. To check, please email [email protected] Our next general meeting will be September 22nd at 6pm via zoom. Anyone can attend and if you wish to join, please email me on the above address. Working through each of the eight themes will allow us to sharpen our knowledge, skills and understanding of high-quality teaching practices, which will ultimately impact on our student’s progress and achievement.

Each fortnight I would like to give you a brief summary of these eight high-quality practices, starting with high expectations.

1. High expectations – key points: • Teachers’ beliefs about their students influence how they teach and

interact with them. High expectations are linked with higher performance for all students.

• High expectations matter at all stages of education for all students. • All students need to be challenged and engaged in order to develop

their potential fully. A culture of high expectations needs to be supported by strategies that both challenge and support student learning needs.

• Teachers holding high expectations of their students has been found to impact student achievement and learning, as well as student behaviour, wellbeing, motivation, self-esteem and attendance.

School photos Please note, due to MSP Photography’s COVID-19 procedures, they will not be taking sibling photos this year.
