At the start of the day, all our teams played some handball, while other schools arrived and the school set up. The first rounds were a mix of three wins and no wins. Alex X managed to quickly win with a four move checkmate. It was then that the Belrose B team versed the Belrose A team and we only got half a point, because Will stalemated Xavier. The last two rounds were played well with two wins each. We were exhausted. Sadly, in the last game the As versed the hardest team and lost all their games. At the medal ceremony, the As got 6th and we tied for 3rd. Then the adjudicators added up the opponents’ scores and we got third. We jumped up and down with excitement. Then, we went back to school to show our amazing achievement. Belrose also had an all-girls team for the first time. They played really well for their first time. It was a fantastic day!
