Welcome!  We are so glad you have joined us this morning!  If you are new to Chaparral, please stop by the Welcome Center and pick up information about our

Church.  Getting connected is one of the most important ways to grow your faith and get to know others in meaningful ways. Here at Chaparral, we offer ministries for all ages, men, women, couples as well as fitness classes and much more.

In January, we will have a New Member class offered on Sunday nights, and a New Member dinner at the end of the month.  These will offer wonderful opportunities for you to find out more about Chaparral and how you can get involved, and will give you a chance to meet other new people at Church. Please call the Church office if you have any questions and ask for Adrienne Armes if you would like to get involved!

Club 45 Winter Camp...time to mark that calendar! It may seem unthinkable to speak the word “February” before Christmas but all will be forgiven as you see the wisdom in these words. Yes, winter camp is upon us and this year, we will be sailing the seven seas and hearing a tale told by pirates, arrrrrg! Now you may be asking yourself, “What in the world do pirates have to do with teaching children about Jesus?” Well, batten down the hatches and hang on tight, cuz this is the story of surprising, relentless love. It’s The Captain’s Aye!

So why mention this before Christmas? Think of it as the most spectacular stocking stuffer EVER! Tuck this little morsel in your kids stocking and voila! you are bestowed the best-parent-of-the-year title for the next 12 months! Not a bad exchange for $99. Go online, sign up & then start planning how you would like your daily breakfast in bed.

Welcome to the World!Congratulations to Jake & Rachel Versteeg on the birth of their baby girl, Stella Charlotte. Stella was born on 12/11 at 7:17 a.m. The rose on the pulpit is in celebration of her birth.

Thanks again to everyone who helped in various ways with Follow the Star at Chaparral Christian Church. If your index finger is calloused or blistered from lighting a zillion candles, your sacrifice is greatly appreciated.

Stained Glass Teen ChoirBravo, teen choir, for a great job singing during Follow the Star and in the blended services last Sunday morning. Don't forget about Carol-o-grams tonight. Meet at Church at 5 p.m.

Winter RetreatThree more weeks left to sign up for the 8-12th grade winter retreat. Final balance due January 2.

Stained Glass Teen Choir: Elves BakeryFresh fruit is all well and good, but at Christmastime baked heavenly goodness reigns supreme. Come visit our Elves Bakery where our teens have lovingly designed yummy treats with high quality ingredients and artistic flair. Skip, don’t run to get first dibs on gifts for family or friends after 1st and 2nd services today! (Gifts...if these little beauties actually make it home unscathed.)

Missions: Reaching OutwardToday is Vitor, Andrea, Larissa and Fernanda’s last day at

Chaparral. We have enjoyed having them with us during the last few months and previous summers. Be sure to wish them well as they begin their ministry in Brazil! They are currently seeking partners to participate in REPARE, a ministry to assist the poor in Brasilia. For additional information visit his website www.reparebrazil.org.

Neighborhood Revitalization: Saturday, January 15, 2011People are in need everywhere and our neighborhoods are no different. Part of being the Body of Christ is being the hands for others at times. In conjunction with Men’s Ministry, the entire congregation is invited to participate in a neighborhood revitalization, assisting those who are unable to physically or financially maintain their property. Contact Nick Stavlund or sign up on line.

The 10 A.M. Report: A New 9:45 ClassPrior to The Well, join us for a new Sunday morning class, from 10-11a.m. taught by Nick Stavlund in the Conference Room. We will be exploring "Culture and Community" by comparing popular news and stories against what it means to be a part of the Jesus community.

We hope your worship experience with us will be meaningful. To help you feel a bit more comfortable with our campus and morning programs, we have included a few recommendations. We are glad you are here today!

Helpful Information

• We would like to get to know you! Each pew has a Welcome Book in which you can let us know prayer requests, sign up for events and update your information. Please pass the Welcome Book down the row so we can hear from everyone!

• Communion/Lord’s Supper All followers of Christ are welcome to participate in our Service of Communion. If you have prepared yourself for this very special moment with our Savior, you are invited to his table. (1 Corinthians 11:23-30)

• Offering In our first two services, a special time for giving is set aside. Participation is an act of worship and voluntary. During our third service there will not be a time specific for offering but rather boxes are placed at the entry to allow for giving as you are led.

• Nursery We have a friendly, well-staffed and impeccably clean nursery located on the north side of the narthex. Please see an usher for directions.

Several of our “regularly scheduled” weekly programs will have a special holiday schedule. Please check with the leader of the class for any changes.
