Help Anshe Emeth Grow

If you think back to how you first heard about Anshe Emeth, you will probably think back to a friend, co-worker, neighbor or relative. And that is why the Membership Committee needs your help -we can't get the word out to everyone by ourselves.

Temple shopping season has begun and we invite you to accompany a prospective member to Shabbat Services. A membership committee representative will be at every Friday night service to answer any questions.

During the summer our Executive Director, Gail Kroop has set aside time to meet with prospective members. The hours are: Tues .• July 7.10 am.-12 p.rn; Wed.. July 15.4-6 p.m.; Thurs .• July 23. 12-2 p.m.; Tues., July 28,8-10 a.m.; Wed .• Aug. 5,4-6 p.m. and Wed., Aug. 26,2-4 p.m.

Do you know families in your neighborhood who would like to learn more about Anshe Emeth? Would you like to sponsor an informal Coffee at your home? Call Shari Rothstein at 422-4489 or Ruth Hass at 545-4863 to see about scheduling a summer Coffee. August 11 at 7:30 p.m. an open meeting is scheduled at the Temple to meet with the clergy and Temple leadership.

For more information about the Prospective Member Shabbats call Ruth Hass at 545-4863 or Shari Rothstein at 422-4489. And thank you in advance for your help.

Anshe Emeth High School Choir Are you too old to be in Anshe Emeth's Junior Choir, yet too young to be in the Adult Choir and you love to sing? Be a part of Anshe Emeth's new "High School" Choir! If you're between the ages of 13 and 18 and are interested in joining, please contact Cantor Roskin at the Temple at 545-6434. We will begin in September with the opening of Religious School.

AETY The fall will be jam-packed with events for us. Most importantly, save the dates October 30 - November 1, when Anshe Emeth will be hosting the New Member Conclave for NFfYGarden Empire Region. We expect 200 high school students from allover the region to be joining us. Know that we're going to come lrnoclcing, and we need you to house people, to help in the planning and programming, and - most importantly - to participate. When you get your Religious School registration packets over the summer, be sure to pay your AETY dues. Your membership means a great deal to us.

AETY wishes everyone a wonderful summer.

JAETYIMAETY JAETY and MAETY have many wonderful plans for the falldon't miss out on a single one of them! Look for registration and dues information in your Religious School registration packets, and send them in. And in the meantime - best wishes to everyone for a great summer.

and crafts, story time, science and social studies. Theme Days have become a tradition. The children will enjoy Pancake Day, Pizza Day, and Tye Dye Day to name a few. Other weekly themes will include Dinosaurs, Fairy Tales, the Wild Wild West, Insects and the Olympics. We will also be taking several exciting trips. The children seem to enjoy the bus ride as much as the destination.

Our excellent child to teacher ratio provides a safe, nurturing environment for those children who are experiencing the group setting for the first time. Our staff will help them to become confident and develop a positive image. This philosophy, of course, continues and is reinforced during the regular school year.

There are still space available for our summer and fall sessions. We offer flexible scheduling and will try

to accommodate your needs whenever possible. We are conveniently located in the Temple and we offer member discounts. For further information on our programs or registration materials please call Helene at 545-6555.

Proudly Presents

Mazel Tov Cube & Mazel Tov Mezuzah The Breaking of the Glass

The Jewish wedding ceremony ends with the customary breaking of the glass by the groom, and everyone shouting -Mazel Tov·.

There are many explanations as to why the glass is stepped on. Two of the most popular, are as follows:

Traditionalists say that it reminds us of the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem.

Contemporaries say that a marriage is as fragile as glass.

Whatever the reason may be, this centuries old tradition still carries on.

Today, many ceremonies end with the bride and groom each stepping on their own glass.

You can now save this precious moment in time, by preserving the broken glass (or light bulb) in handmade works of art, the Mazel Tov Cube 1M & Mazel Tov Mezuzah ~ .

Designed and created by Jules Martin Schreider, it is something that the bride and groom will cherish all of their lives, with a lasting memory of their special day.

Mazel Tov Cube 1M & Mazel Tov Mezuzah 1M, the most unique wedding gifts, engagement gifts and personal keepsakes ever designed, are distributed locally by Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple, 732·545·6484
