The river walk is a famous tourist attraction in San Antonio. The riverwalk is basically a river lined with shops and restaurants on the streets.

In 1921 San Antonio had a flood that took 50 lives. The people then decided that they needed to develop some kind of flood control. Architect Robert Hugman submitted a plan for what we now know as the river walk.

As the river walk becomes more important to San Antonio’s economy, there has been talk of expansion. For example they added the museum of research in 2009 and could add more things in the up coming years.
