Self-employed retirement
contributions
If you own an outside busi-ness through which you contribute to a qualified re-tirement plan, and you are also enrolled in ORP or TDA through the A&M System, there are IRS regulations that apply to your retire-
ment savings.
The IRS 415 regulations limit the amount that can be contributed to a retire-ment plan for an individual ($52,000 for 2014). Normal-ly, this limit does not have to be aggregated between different employers. Howev-er, plan contributions must be aggregated across plan types if the individual owns more than 50% (controlling interest) of a business with a sponsor-qualified plan (typically a Keogh plan or
SEP).
This means contributions includ-ing employee and employer con-tributions for both the 403(b) (ORP and TDA) plan and the self-employed qualified plan must be below the annual 415 limit men-
tioned above.
415 regulations assign the re-sponsibility of aggregating these plans to the A&M System, since we are the 403(b) provider. The A&M System is required to obtain self-employed contribution infor-mation from employees to deter-mine if employees have exceeded
this limit.
If you have made contributions to a self-employed plan in 2014,

Barbara’s nominator said “Barbara Wilson has done many great things since becoming part of the Eagle family. We are now able to pro-vide student services that were not offered be-fore, and considering the tragedy that our campus experienced in November we see that these services are required. During the after-math, many students had a difficult time with the loss of their friends, and Barbara Wilson was here for them through it all. She called fellow mental health counselors from the community to come in and help, while provid-ing group and individual counseling sessions during normal hours, nights, and weekends. She also hosted a program to allow students that were in the grieving process to express their grief through painting. Ms. Barb’s dedica-tion to being there for our students during this difficult time while meeting her other pri-orities shows that she is passionate about her job and our campus community.”
