Porthcurno Telegraph Museum is a family-friendly attraction set in WW2 tunnels next to the beautiful Porthcurno beach. From Victorian times this little village was a hub of global communications, becoming the largest and busiest telegraph cable station in the world. Discover how the telegraph changed the world we live in and how the secret bomb-proof tunnels protected vital wartime communications.

Open daily from 24 March 10am - 5pm. For September onwards please check the website.

Wednesday late night opening to 7pm between 31 July – 28 August.

Last entry 1 hour before closing.

Visit the secret World War 2 tunnels

Explore the amazing WW2 tunnels and experience the sights and sounds of a working telegraph station. Enjoy daily demonstrations and family-friendly activities. Discover how messages were sent around the world before mobile phones and the internet, and send your own secret Morse code messages.

More than just a Cornish tin mine

For safety reasons, the admission of children under 4 on the mine tour is at the Guide’s discretion. Also, as the tour follows the original mine workings it is unsuitable for those in wheelchairs. Suitable footwear must be worn therefore open backed and high heels are not permitted.
