What CFAC Is

2.4.3 Chancellor’s Faculty Advisory Committee

The Chancellor’s Faculty Advisory Committee serves in an advisory capacity to the Chancellor of the VCCS on System-wide issues. The Committee shall meet at the call of the Chancellor to deliberate and make recommendations on items in a formal agenda set by the Chancellor.

Who CFAC Is

•One representative from each of 23 colleges

•Almost always full-time faculty

•Representatives (s)elected in a variety of ways (ex officio, elected post, etc.)

•Terms of service vary; two-year terms recommended

Member Responsibilities

1. Attend fall and spring meetings at the System Office

2. Solicit questions, concerns, comments, and ideas from faculty at their colleges each semester

3. Report out to faculty senate / association about CFAC meeting

4. Distribute CFAC minutes (also on VCCS website)

5. Distribute CFAC surveys

6. Participate in conference calls

7. Resource for faculty: referrals for questions / assistance
