The next twentytwo lots are from

the late Claude F Temple

collection and have come direct

from a family friend.

Claude F Temple was a motorcycle

manufacturer, a Brooklands racer and a

world record holder. He was also the first

person to cover 100 miles in less than

one hour on a motorcycle. This

historically important motoring

achievement took place at Montlhery

when he covered 100 miles in 58 minutes

and 50.6 seconds which is equivalent to

101.982 mph
