The Year 7 Boys Basket Ball Team won their
game against Hampton Academy this week,
with Leon Byrne scoring the golden basket
after the team drew 10-10 at the end of the
4th Quarter. Congratulations.
Our 6th Form Boys 5-a-side Football team
played well in their matches against Grey
Court & RPA. They won Pool A and then drew
3-3 against a strong RPA team in the play-off
final. Overall a great afternoon for our boys.

‘Catch it. Bin it. Kill it.’
Public Health have launched the
‘Catch it. Bin it. Kill it.’ campaign to
encourage the public to adopt
hygiene practices. The campaign
urges people to carry tissues and use
them to catch coughs or sneezes,
then to bin the tissues and
to kill the germs by
washing hands.
Kingston University Progression ConferenceKingston University Progression Conference
Eight Year 9s spent Monday at the Kingston Hill Campus at Kingston University
attending a one day conference. The theme of the day was progression from
option choices in year 9 through to GCSEs, possible A levels or BTEC, and then
university degrees. During the day our pupils met a range of undergraduate
ambassadors and were able to ask them about all aspects of studying for a
degree, what sort of careers they are planning, what life as a student is like, what
it costs and how to balance studying and having fun. They also had a brief tour of
the Kingston Campus, which includes a hospital ward where the nursing
undergraduates study, and a mock up law court.
Inspiration and Insight day at Credit SuisseInspiration and Insight day at Credit SuisseInspiration and Insight day at Credit Suisse
Earlier this week three sixth formers had the chance to peek behind the scenes at
Credit Suisse, the investment bank based at Cabot Square in the heart of Canary
Wharf. The key note speaker was Marisa Drew, Managing Director of the Investment
Banking Division, who has worked in investment banking for over 28 years and in
2013 was recognised by the BBC as one of the most powerful women in Britain.
Following her talk, our students were able to meet many of the young graduates and
interns employed by Credit Suisse and get tips and advice on transition from school to
university, and then the working world. Our visit included a tour of the building
including the 18th floor which has been refurbished to provide an ultra modern office
environment. The offices have the added benefit of the most wonderful views across
the city of London and beyond.
This day was our first involvement with Artemis, a networking organisation for
women, who ran the event and, based on yesterday's experience, we will do more.
