MAJOR WORKS

• Excavation of the Cornering Camber with a total length of 180.00 meters in traditional, digging di-ameter of 16.29 m, finished internal diameter of 12.63 m. Coating of the AC tunnel cast in place.

• Excavation tunnel evacuation with a total length of 1,500.00 meters in traditional, excavation diameter of 7.82 m, finished internal diameter of 6.32 m. Coating of the AC tunnel cast in place.

• Excavation of the Twins Metro Tunnel of total length of 6,849.00 meters in traditional, exca-vation diameter of 10.18 m, finished internal diameter of 7.50 m. Coating of the AC tunnel cast in place.

• Excavation of by-pass tunnels and niches in traditional method.

Tunnel lining

• Coated AC tunnel lining, 90cm thick.

GEOLOGY

The route crosses a heterogeneous set of structural geological units: it is in fact the area of contact be-tween the ends of the Alpine mountain to the west and the northern Apennine mountain to the east.This area, known as the Sestri-Voltaggio, is bounded on the west by the Voltri Group and on the east by theLigurian units. These macro tectonic units are, finally, bounded by succession to the north sedimentary from the Ligurian-Piedmontese Tertiary Basin and from the deposits of the Po Valley, too interested in the project line.
