Shopping trolley carnival floats, the best of local live music, the most delicious food & weird & wonderful fun.

There is no other FREE festival quite like CoCoMAD.

CoCoMAD is run by the Friends of Cotteridge Park, a group of dedicated or foolish, volunteers. The festival is a big project and we always need more volunteers to help with the planning and to make sure the day runs smoothly.

CoCoMAD is proud to be a FREE festival but we do need your help to pay for the bit the volunteers can’t do: insurance, paying the bands, licences and the stage.

If everyone puts £2 in a bucket that’s CoCoMAD paid for.

If you want to know more about Friends of Cotteridge Park or want to join the CoCoMAD team have a look at our website, or follow us on twitter @CotteridgePark & facebook.

Get Active in Your CommunitySet up in 1997 FoCP is the group of volunteers who work to ensure that Cotteridge Park is maintained as a great space for the whole community.

FoCP organises events in the park like CoCoMAD and Fright Night, raises funding for the park and supports school and youth group visits.

On average FoCP volunteers donate more than 150 hours a month doing daily litter picks and regular grounds maintenance supplementing the service provided by Birmingham City Council.

Everyone who uses the park or lives nearby is welcome to join the group. Come and say “Hello” at the FoCP stall in the Main Field or get in touch by email

[email protected]

FoCP is a charity registered in England and Wales (1150091)

Scouting offers challenge and adventure to 400,000 young people across the UK. Our thriving Scout Group in Bournville has over 150 members through its doors each week, but we would still love to do more! We need funds to improve our facilities and volunteers to help run the Group. Please help us out by volunteering via [email protected] or by making a donation at https://mydonate.bt.com/charities/1stbournvillescoutgroup. Look forward to putting something back

The aim of CoCoMAD is to have a great day out in your favourite park with friends, neighbours & family – without leaving you feeling broke at the end of it! At CoCoMAD as many of the activities as possible are FREE – they are funded by grants and your donations. If everyone puts at least £2 in the buckets then CoCoMAD can continue to offer good value fun.

Welcome Back to the 20p Challenge

CoCoMAD has challenged the traders to have something for children on their stall for 20p –something to buy or a game to play. This way you can give your children a £1 or £2 and they can go shopping without breaking the bank.

Look out for the 20p sign on 5th July to see who is taking part.

Thank you to the Roadhouse for supporting the CoCoMAD Main Stage this year.

Page 11: Cocomad 2014 festival programme

Main Stage12:30 XOVABirmingham’s best kept secret. One of the tightest and best live bands inthe UK fusing reggae, rock and pop.

13:00 Suzi and the BackbeatsThis girl can really sing and, with her fantastic band and diverse repertoire, it’s and absolute no brainer... a must see!

14:30 The ParadimesSometimes a band comes along that has no other agenda than to create good music and the Paradimes are one of those bands.

15:30 Souled Out 2 Funk Do you like music - that sweet soul music? Then you will love Souled Out 2 Funk.

16:30 The Lionel Street PlayersBursting from the heart of Birmingham, The Lionel Street Players blend comic madness with traditional music from around the world.

17:30 The Broombusters Rhythmic reggae bass lines matched with gritty blues chords create an original sound led by Charlie Wolfman.

18:30 The Dirty Old Folkers A super-charged folk ensemble creating musical mayhem. Think of a Viz comic being narrated by the Pogues. Theirs is a pick ‘n’ mix bag of musical genius, stretching across an ever expanding repertoire – Irish Folk – Bluegrass, Blues – a quick detour to Jazz – Classical Music and a nod to Black Sabbath.
