SNL will begin at 6:00 pm with Down with Love starring Renee Zellweger and Ewan McGregor in a snappy 60’s retro comedy spoof—fun and breezy for the beginning of summer. Playing at 7:45 pm will be The Lost City with Andy Garcia. It is a story of love and beauty, family and fatherland, music and revolution. Catch Bill Murray in top form as ‘The Writer’ (the unnamed Infante), whose common sense and whose sense of the absurd lend a transcendent di- mension to the film. A light supper is being planned and donations will be requested. CAN YOU HELP WITH THE RELOCATION OF NEW CATHOLICS TO THE DIOCESE? A group of Burundians from Africa will soon be settling in the Springfield-West Springfield area. What is my responsibility toward the poor? How do I become someone who really cares for and acts on behalf of the poor and vulnerable? JustFaith is an extended justice education process which offers an opportunity for parish-ioners to experience a spiritual journey into compassion through social ministry. This pro-gram is an intensive study that extends over 8 months, employing books, videos, lecture, dis-cussion, prayer, retreats, hands-on experi-ences, and community building. JustFaith in-volves groups of about 15 people, who meet for 30 weekly sessions including two weekend re-treats and four Saturday hands-on experiences. Through this lively and challenging format come and be formed by the justice tradition, which changes lives, inspires faithful witness, and transforms the world through love and ser-vice. Cost for materials is $135/person and payment is made in installments. Please con-tact Marilyn Paul-Lewis, Director of Parish So-cial Ministry at the Diocese of Springfield. You can reach her by phone at 413-452-0818 or via email at [email protected].

HVAC PROJECT NEWS Happy summer to all! Enjoying the warm weather? Well, we certainly are. With guidance from the Diocese, we are finally going to begin the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems renovation. As you have probably noticed, the air conditioning has yet to be turned on. That is mainly due to reconnaissance, and preliminary pipe work on the fan coil units throughout the building. We hope to have the system running very soon, but only for a short time. We expect it to be turned off again around July 27th. At that time, all of the old units will have to be removed before beginning the installation of new equipment. This project aims to remove any rusty, rotted, and non-functional equipment, increase energy efficiency, as well as prevent any more ceilings from caving in on us due to leaky condensation. Please bear with us throughout the next few months, and I will keep you posted on the progress. David Rondina
