Lies in being uniquely you— lies in being true to your best,

That part of you different from all the rest." Helen Lowrie Marshall

STARTED 28TH AUGUST

Help us win a $20,000 staffroom makeover!

Thanks to QT Mutual Bank we have the chance to win a $20,000 staffroom make-

over as part of their “Staffroom for Improvement” competition.

The prize is a complete makeover of our school’s main staffroom and even better

is the chance for individual voters to win one of five $1,000 QTMB bank ac-

counts. The winning school will be the one with the most votes weighted against

the number of students, so any school, small or large has an equal chance to win.

We need as much support from our local school community as possible.

tions and register your interest today. The competition kicks off on 28 August

Year 4/5 News

Throughout the term our Year 4/5 class have been investigating natural and pro-cessed materials. At the beginning of the unit we explored a variety of materials used to make gloves. We had a classroom full of different types of gloves! We enjoyed working in groups to discuss our own knowledge of materials. We are continuing to complete an ongoing investigation called ‘What a Rotter’. This is where we are investigating materials to see if they change or decompose. The materials we are investigating include an apple core, plastic, paper and cotton. During this experiment our class learnt about the importance of a fair test. We are enjoying participating in our science unit! This week is Health and Wellbeing week and we are discussing safety, health and personal development. I encourage all parents to take the time to discuss these important issues with their child. Finally, our class are thrilled to be dancing and reciting poetry at the Father’s Day Bush Dance. Just a reminder that the dance starts at 6pm on Saturday night. Please remember to bring along your picnic rugs or chairs. Don’t forget to wear your best country clothing! We look forward to seeing you there and having a great night filled with dancing. Miss Nystrom and Year 4/5
