HAIR & BEAUTY AT HUMPHREY PERKINS SCHOOL

P2

Mr J Barnard, Business Manager

VISIT TO LOUGHBOROUGH DEGREE SHOW 15 JUNE — GCSE ART STUDENTS

A small group of Year 8 students

were lucky enough to go on a Hair

& Beauty Course at

Humphrey Perkins School in

Loughborough. They had a great

time, and were very enthusiastic

about the course. It was

fantastic to see their confidence

grow as the course progressed

and they learned many skills

including nail art, advanced hair

styling, and using make up

effectively. These students were

great ambassadors for our school

and their behaviour was

impeccable.

Mrs A Dakin, SENCO Mrs M Day, LSA

What we thought

of the course ...

As a cost saving measure Peter Figg, our amazing Premises Officer and his team are doing their bit to keep the grounds trim and save the College some money.

The hair and make-up

was my favourite.

Angel

I have had so much fun

doing the hair and beauty course,

making new friends and

learning new things. Thanks you to Mrs Day for

her support and to Mrs Johnson for letting us go.

It’s been great.

Natt

I have enjoyed meeting

new people and making friends.

I love doing nails with glitter.

Courtney

I enjoyed th Hair & Beauty course

because I loved learning new skills

and meeting people, and I loved the

experience. Thank you Mrs Johnson

& Mrs Day!

Ginny

The Beauty Club was amazing.

We did hair, make-up, and even nail

art! Learning make-up artist skills

was my favourite thing.

James

The best part about the 6 week course at

Humphrey Perkins School was hairdressing. We

learned lots of new techniques and we were

taught like apprentice hairdressers. I’m thankful

that I had the opportunity to do this course.

DERBY ARTS FESTIVAL

Year 7 student

My 2017 experience at the Derby

Arts Festival was very enjoyable.

The people were very supportive if

you were nervous, and congratulat-

ed you after you had finished. The

feedback you get about your

performance is very kind and

helpful as you get told what you

did well, and what you could im-

prove for next time. I thought that

it was truly worth it and think it is

a great experience for other children!
