Welcome Message
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you all to the 8th Medical Career Day. I
would like to begin by extending a warm welcome to all participants and a special
welcome to our lecturers and instructors. Many thanks for participating in this
conference and sharing your expertise.
This event is being held annually and King Abdulaziz University is indeed
very fortunate to be chosen to host this year’s 8th Medical Career day.
The aim of this event is to offer guidance from experts on why to choose a
career in medicine right through to the realities of medical life and specialist selection.
The event will be having different themes of which will tackle scholarship &
residency opportunities, training opportunities, job opportunities, licensure exams,
professionalism, interprofessional collaboration, nursing education, and skills
enhancement workshops
The scientific committee worked hard to put together an excellent programme.

Dr. Mohammad AlKhazim Alghamdi, PT,PhD Director of Medical Scholarship Program Saudi Arabian Cultural Bureau, Ottawa, Canada
Dr Alkhazim is the Director of Medical Scholarship Department at Saudi Culture Bureau in Ottawa and Associate Professor of Rehabilitation at King Saud ben Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS). Before his current position, he worked as a founder dean/ associate dean of Applied Medical Sciences College (KSAU-HS); as a coordinator of foundation committee for another similar college at King Faisal University; as a Director of Planning and Development and member/ secretary of trustee board for a newly established medical city (King Fahad Medial City), and as a physical therapist at King Fahad University Hospital (Khobar) and King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (Riyadh). Moreover, he worked as consultant/ advisor for other educational, cultural, and health projects He is known in Saudi as a newspaper columnist and participant in different intellectual and cultural activities; TV/ radio talks, cultural lectures, national dialogue, etc. He was the recipient of best Saudi author in 2012 for his book ‘Invading the Ivory Tower”. He is author/ coauthor of other three books. He is Co-owner/ founder of the Arabic digital reading project “Raffy’’ (www.raffy.ws). He served as a therapist for Saudi National Team for Disabled Sports. He was the founder/ member/ chair of Saudi Physiotherapy Group (changed to an Association, later), Saudi PT (www.saudipt.net); and Saudi Occupational Therapy Association. In addition, he was member of the foundation team for Cancer Patient Society- Eastern Region. Alkhazim is a holder of PhD from Queen’s University (2003), MSc from The University of Oklahoma (1995) and Bachelorate from King Saud University (1992).
Dr. Samar Alsaggaf Vice Rector of Health Affairs Princess Nourah University
Dr. Samar Alsaggaf is Vice Rector of Health Affairs at Princess Nourah University. As the first female Anatomist in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Alsaggaf has made significant contributions to the field of Medical Education and Research. She has authored 38 medical publications, written several books and has led numerous government-funded scientific research projects. Her exceptional leadership qualities have earned her seats in countless scientific and social committees and advisory groups. She is the former Dean of Students and Vice Dean of Medical College at King Abdulaziz University. Dr. Alsaggaf holds a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from King Abdul Aziz University (1988), a Master’s degree in Anatomy and Embryology (1993) and Doctorate of Philosophy in Anatomy and Embryology from King Saud University (1996). She also earned a Certificate of Medical Education from the University of Illinois (2009). As a Physician, Dr. Alsaggaf gained a specialization in Anatomy, Embryology, and Histology with an expertise in the development of the Nervous System. Prior to joining Princess Nourah University, Dr. Alsaggaf served as the Director of the Department of Medical and Health Science Programs at the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission (SACM) to the United States in Washington, D.C. Her mentorship at SACM earned her the informal title “The Mother of Saudi Students” by the students themselves. Under her supervision of international medical degree programs, Saudi graduates gaining acceptance into US residency and fellowship programs jumped to 6th place in the National Match Program (NRMP). As an educator, Dr. Alsaggaf served as Adjunct Professor at George Washington University and the University of Maryland (2014), Associate Professor of Anatomy (2009) and Assistant Professor of Anatomy and Embryology (2004) at King Abdulaziz University. Courses taught by Dr. Alsaggaf include Theory and Practical Skills to students of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, and Pharmacology. She is an award recipient of numerous national and international awards including New York University’s Best Educator Award, George Washington University’s Medical Education Diplomacy Award, Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission’s Best Director Award for three consecutive years and a Global Lifetime Recognition Award, among many others. In 2013, St. Joseph’s University granted Dr. Alsaggaf an honorary PHD degree. Dr. AlSaggaf is an enthusiastic advocate for women’s programs and medical curriculum development. She has an excellent track record managing grand projects and facilitating and bridging the gap between East and West.
Dr. Sulaiman E. S. Al-Emran

Dr. Sulaiman E. S. Al-Emran is the current Deputy General Secretary at Saudi
Commission for Health Specialties in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; and also the
current President of Saudi Orthodontic Society in Riyadh, KSA. Prior to his current
appointments, he was previously appointed as the Dean of College of Dentistry in
King Saud University in Riyadh; and a previous Chairman of the Dental Department in
Military Hospital in Riyadh.
Dr. Al-Emran holds PhD in dentistry from the Department of Child Dental Health at
the Faculty of Dentistry in University of Sheffield.
Dr. Al-Emran has attended and participated in various lectures, workshops and
symposiums, with over 15 research publications published.
Dr. Abdulrahman Alhudhaif, PhD

Dr. Abdulrahman Alhudhaif is the director of the Custodian of the Two Holly
Mosques Scholarship Program.
He got his PhD in English language and Linguistics from Purdue University, the USA in
2005.
His main interest is promoting quality in the field of higher education.
John Magner BA, MBA – Head of International Affairs
Royal College of Physicians of Ireland
John has been a member of Senior Management Team at the Royal College of
Physicians of Ireland for the past five years.
He currently holds the position of Head of International Affairs where he has
responsibility for managing the Colleges overseas activities and programmes,
including recruitment to its International Medical Graduate Training Programmes.
Previously John held the position Head of Operations in the College with
responsibility for managing its Medical Training, Professional Competence,
Examinations and Quality Assurance programmes and services. John is past
Chairman of the International Medical Graduate Training Initiative (IMTGI) which is a
partnership arrangement between the Health Services Executive of Ireland (HSE) and
the Forum of Irish Postgraduate Training Bodies.
Prior to joining the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland John held number of Senior
Management positions with the Health Services Executive, the National body with
responsibility for delivering health and social care services in Ireland. These included
Assistant National Director of Human Resources; Director of Human Resources HSE
South East; Regional Hospitals Manager HSE South East and Hospital Manager.
John holds a BA (Health Admin) and an MBA.
Dr. Hamdan Hammad Al-Hazmi

Dr. Hamdan Al-Hazmi is the current deputy Chairman of Department of Surgery at
King Khalid University Hospital and College of Medicine in King Saud University in
Riyadh, KSA. He is also an Associate professor of Urology and a Consultant in
Pediatric Urologist.
Dr. Al-Hazmi obtained has MBBS degree in King Abdulaziz University. He pursued his
education and acquired various certifications and diplomas (Saudi Board in Urology;
Arab Board in Urology; Fellowship Pediatric Urology in Montreal Canada; Fellowship
Laparoscopic Pediatric Urology, French Diploma of Pediatric Urology, French Diploma
(AFSA) Pediatric Surgery, Diploma of Laparoscopic Urology, Diploma of Robotic
Surgery, French Diploma of Laparoscopy in Pediatric Surgery in France; and Mini-
fellowship in Robotic Pediatric Urology in Chicago, USA)
Dr. Al-Hazmi is a member of various societies, committees and organizations. He has
published numerous research articles, attended more than 50 conferences, and
presented in various conferences.
Dr. Talal Abdul Majeed Yusuf

Dr. Talal Abdul Majeed Yusuf is the current Deputy of the Cultural Attaché at Saudi
Cultural Office in Bonn, Berlin and he has been once a Cultural Attaché to Italy (1996-
2005).
Dr. Talal holds a Bachelor Degree in Political Science (Major) and Public
Administration and Anthropology (Minor); Masters Degree in Middle East Politics;
and a PhD in Higher Education Administration.
Dr. Talal also worked in the Saudi Arabian Cultural Office in the USA as the previous
Director of English Programs Department- Huston; previous director of Admissions
and University Relations Department- Huston; previous assistant Director of the
Academic Department (SACO in the USA); previous director of Academic Department
(SACO in the USA); and a previous director of the Social Affairs Department and
Supervisor of the Council of the Saudi Students Clubs in the USA and Canada.
Dr. Talal is an active of various committees and councils. Throughout his professional
career, he has received numerous awards.
Dr. Haytham Tayeb BDS, Msc, MOrth, RCSEd

Dr. Haytham Tayeb is the current Deputy Director for Planning and Training at
General Directorate of Health Affairs in Makkah, Ministry of Health; A Clinical
Instructor (Saudi Board of Orthodontics) - Makkah at Saudi Commission for Health
Specialties (SCFHS); An Alumni representative in Saudi Arabia at King's College
London; and also a current Consultant in Orthodontics at Al-Noor Specialist Hospital,
Ministry of Health (Saudi Arabia).
Dr. Tayeb acquired his degree in dentistry at King Abdulaziz University in the year
1999. He obtained his Master in Science (MSc) in Orthodontics at King’s College
London in 2006. He then attained a Membership in Orthodontics in Royal College of
Surgeons in Edinburgh during 2006. and lastly, he finished his fellowship in Dental
Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in 2013.
Since then, Dr. Tayeb has published 2 publications entitled “Mechanical Properties of
coloured Elastomeric ligatures” in 2007, and “Minimally Invasive Use of Coloured
Composite Resin in Aesthetic Restoration of Periodontal involved teeth: Case report”
in 2013.
Mr. Anas Obaid

Mr. Anas Obaid, received degree in Computer Science and Statistics from King
AbdulAziz University, and he is currently working at King Faisal Specialist Hospital
and Research – Jeddah Branch, as a Senior Employment Representative in
Department of Employment Services.

Dr Mansour Al Qurashi, currently the Dean of Faculty of Medicine at King Saud bin
Abdulaziz for Health Sciences-Jeddah, and the Division Head of Neonatal Intensive
Care Department at King Abdulaziz Medical City-Jeddah, Ministry of National Guard
Health Affairs. Dr Al Qurashi graduated from King Abdulaziz University, College of
Medicine in August of 1991 subsequently did his Residency Training Program in
Paediatrics at King Khalid National Guard Hospital in Jeddah and King Faisal Specialist
Hospital & Research Center (KFSH & RC), Riyadh in the period between 1992-1996,
and obtained Arab/Saudi Board in Paediatrics in 1997 subsequently obtained
scholarship by NGHA to do Fellowship training in Neonatology in the period between
1999-2002 and obtained Neonatal-Prenatal Fellowship in June 2002. In August 2002,
he was appointed as Consultant Neonatologist at King Abdulaziz Medical City-
Jeddah, Residency Training Program Director in Paediatrics between 2003-2006, and
was appointed on February 2006 as Director of Medical Education and Academic
Affairs at King Abdulaziz Medical City, Jeddah, subsequently appointed as Associate
Dean, Postgraduate Education and Academic Affair and, afterward, was appointed
Dean of King Saud bin Abdulaziz for Health Sciences-Jeddah on October 2016. Dr Al
Qurashi has significant contributions in many of committees and organizations both
in the field of Postgraduate Medical Education as well as Neonatal – Perinatal
profession. He has numerous publications and presentations in national and
international meetings.
Major General Nasser bin Ali Al-Aqeel

Major General Nasser bin Ali Al-Aqeel is the current Deputy Director of
Administrative Affairs in King Fahd Armed Forces Hospital, Jeddah.
Maj. Gen. Al-Aqeel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from King Abdulaziz
University.

Dr. Nezar Bahabri is a consultant in Infectious Diseases at Dr. Soliman Fakeeh
Hospital, Jeddah, KSA.
Dr. Bahabri is a member of American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), Canadian
Board of Internal Medicine (FRCPC), and American Board of Infectious Diseases
(ABIM-ID).
Dr. Bahabri was awarded UBC Department of Medicine K. A. Evelyn Award “Most
outstanding core resident of the year 2007-2008”.
Dr. Mohammad Al-Sultan General Supervisor for Postgraduate Studies Saudi Commission for Health Specialties
Dr. Mohammad Al-Sultan is the current General Supervisor for Postgraduate Studies
in Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. He is also the current Director for
Scholarship Office at the deanship of Postgraduate Education and Academic Affairs
in King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Science, and a Consultant in
Emergency and Critical Care Medicine.
Dr. Al-Sultan acquired his MBBS in 1998 at King Saud University, KSA. He then took
up Residency and Fellowship Program in Ottawa University, Canada specializing in
Emergency and Critical Care Medicine. He then later obtained his Masters Degree in
Medical Education in 2008 at Ottawa University Canada.
Dr. Al-Sultan has been awarded “Teacher of the Year” by Ottawa University in 2004,
and “Best Tutor” by King Abdulaziz Medical City in the year 2005, 2006, 2007, and
2008 respectively.
Dr. Bashar Bishara, MD

Dr. Bashar Bishara received his Medical degree from Damascus University- Syria. He
serves as Regional Medical Director – Middle East at Kaplan Medical.
Having worked for Kaplan for over 12 years, he has assisted thousands of American
and foreign medical students and graduates understand the United States medical
licensure pathway and achieve the highest possible scores on their USMLE exams.
As a Kaplan Medical test-taking expert, Dr. Bishara uses personalized study
techniques and his extensive knowledge to motivate his students and help them
achieve their US medical residency goals.
Dr. Bishara’s advice: “Believing in yourself is the first secret to success”.
Dr. Alaa Bagalagel, Harmed

Dr. Alaa Bagalagel, Harmed., CDE, is assistant professor at The Faculty of Pharmacy,
King Abdulaziz University. Dr. Bagalagel earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from
King Abdulaziz University after which time he completed Pharmacy Practice
Residency and Ambulatory Care Specialty Residency training at The University of
Arizona.
Dr. Bagalagel completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at The University of Arizona. His
area of research includes clinical safety and efficacy of biosimilar, diabetes care, and
drug reactions.
Dr. Bagalagel is Certified Diabetes Educator. He is an active member of the biosimilar
working group at The University of Arizona Health Outcomes and
PharmacoEconomic Center.
Susan Sanders, DNP, RN, NEA-BC
Vice President, Kaplan Nursing
As Vice President of Kaplan Nursing, Dr. Sanders, oversees the vision and strategy
surrounding product development, research and consulting for the company’s full
suite of nursing products. The nursing team has expanded Kaplan’s NCLEX prep
business into benchmark testing and remediation with the addition of service and
consulting.
She has focused on student, faculty, staff and program development through an
emphasis on outcomes. She is experienced in delivering presentations to regional
and national audiences. She has gained additional leadership expertise as president
of the state nurses association, through professional memberships, and through
board certification as an Advanced Nurse Executive (NEA-BC). She previously served
on the American Nurses Association Credentialing Center’s (AACN) Commission on
Accreditation to develop criteria and evaluate continuing education programs for
nurses.
Prior to joining Kaplan in 2010, Susan was Associate Vice President of Clinical
Operations at Quorum Health Resources, Director of Nursing Education at Motlow
College and Chief Nursing Officer at two Tennessee facilities.

Mr. Waleed F. Al Ghazzawi Director, Sales and Distribution SITCO Pharma, Jeddah, KSA Mr. Waleed Al Ghazzawi the current Director for Sales and Distributor at SITCO Pharma, Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; as well as an adjunct lecturer of pharmacy under the Department of Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, KSA. Mr. Al Ghazzawi holds degree in Pharmaceutical Science, a diploma in Practical Marketing, and a Masters degree in Business Administration. He is a member of Harvard Business Review (HBR), Drug Information Association (DIA), Saudi Management Association (SMA), American Marketing Association (AMA), and American Society for Health Care Pharmacist (ASHP), American Management Association (AMA), and Saudi Pharmaceutical Society (SPS). He is active in community activity and research. Mr. Al Ghazzawi was awarded “SITCO PHARMA Award” as "Man of The Year 2005"; and “Saudi Pharmaceutical Society Award” for the active support as assistant chairman in Pharmacy Development Committee from 1995-1999 and writing “Pharmacy Law”.
Prof. Omid Farokhzad
Omid Farokhzad is an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School (HMS) and a physician-scientist in the Department of Anaesthesiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH). Dr. Farokhzad directs the Laboratory of Nanomedicine and Biomaterials at BWH. He is a faculty member of the Brigham Research Institute Cancer Research Center. He is additionally a member of the Dana Farber/Harvard Cancer Center Programs in Prostate Cancer and Cancer Cell Biology. Dr. Farokhzad’s research is focused on the development of therapeutic nanoparticle technologies; most notably, he pioneered the high throughput combinatorial development and screening of multifunctional nanoparticles for medical applications. Dr. Farokhzad has authored approximately 135 papers (~26,000 citations; H-Index 66) and holds more than 145 issued/pending US and International patents. The technologies that Dr. Farokhzad has developed with collaborators at HMS and MIT formed the basis for the launch of four biotechnology companies: BIND Therapeutics (NASDAQ: BIND), Selecta Biosciences, Tarveda Therapeutics (formerly Blend Therapeutics), and Koan Biotherapeutics, which are translating the aforementioned academic innovations toward commercialization and societal impact. Dr. Farokhzad has served in various capacities on the Board of Directors and the Scientific Advisory Board of these companies. He was a recipient of the 2013 RUSNANOPRIZE, one of the largest international nanotechnology prizes, for the development and industrialization of nanoparticle technologies for medical applications. In 2014, he received the Golden Door Award from the International Institute of New England for his societal and economic impact as a naturalized USA citizen. In 2015, he was named as one of The Worldview 100 by Scientific American, which recognized visionaries who shape biotechnology around the world. In 2016, he was among the recipients of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor for his scientific, societal and economic contributions to America as an immigrant. Dr. Farokhzad was elected to the College of the Fellows of the American Institute of Medical and biological Engineering. He was selected by Thomson Reuters among the Highly Cited Researchers in 2014 and 2015. The Boston Globe selected him among the top innovators in Massachusetts and the Boston Business Journal selected him among the Health Care Champions for his innovations. In 2012, he was among the regional Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year awardees. Dr. Farokhzad completed his post-graduate clinical and post-doctoral research trainings, respectively, at the BWH/HMS and MIT in the laboratory of Institute Professor Robert Langer. Prior to her appointment as the General Director of Nursing, she was the assistant of the

Dr. Tagwa Omer is the current Dean of College of Nursing in King Saud Bin Abdul Aziz

Prof. Khaled M. AlKattan Prof. Khaled Manae Al-Kattan, Dean College of Medicine, Alfaisal University and
Consultant Thoracic Surgery and lung transplant at King Faisal Specialist Hospital &
Research Centre. He was a graduate from King Saud University 1983, got his FRCS from
Edinburgh with a gold medal in 1988. Appointed as an assistance professor at KSU in
1989, Associate professor in 1995 and then a full professor in 2000. He served as the
director of continuous medical education at the college. He was a co-founder of both
the Saudi thoracic society and Pan Arab Chest Society. He is the Middle East regent for
the European Society of Thoracic Surgery. He is a member of many international
societies and sits as a senior editor for the Annals of Thoracic Medicine journal. He is in
the editorial board and reviewer of most of the international thoracic surgery journals.
Have extensive research and publication in his field, presented many abstracts in
international symposiums. Was invited as an international speaker in many medical
events. He is the Chairman of the National Lung Cancer Study Group and the national
lung transplant program. Have extensive work in medical education and a board
member of its Saudi society. Have contributed to public health education and
establishment of several charity medical associations.
Dr. Khalid I. Al-Qumaizi MD, ABFM, SBFM Assistant Professor & Consultant of Family Medicine
Dr. Khalid I. Al-Qumaizi is the Dean of College of Medicine & General Supervisor of Medical
Services, Al-Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University since September 2012. He has
obtained his Saudi & Arab Board of Family Medicine in 2001; during his residency, training
program was selected as the Best Resident in Family & Community Medicine for three
consecutive years 1997, 1998 & 1999. He was appointed as the Resident Co-coordinator for
the Saudi Board Training Program Residents from 1997 up to 2000, CME Co-coordinator in

Medicine and biggest centers in Riyadh Military Hospital with more than 250 multi-
nationality staff) from August 2004 till February 2009. He was a representative of the
Ministry of Education (MOE) at the administrative board of National Unified Procurement
Company for Medical Supplies (NUPCO) from Jan 2013 to Dec. 2015. He was also the
Representative of the college in different consultative committees, the university counselling
committee, the training and scholarship committee. He worked as the vice dean for quality
and development, as the vice dean for the administrative affairs, the college of medicine at
Al Imam university from December 2009 up to April 2012. He is an assistant professor at the
college of medicine, Al-Imam University from 2/2009.
Currently, Dr. Al-Qumaizi is the Chairman of the College Board, Member of the University
Board, Member of the Saudi Medical Deans’ Committee, and Member of the GCC Medical
Deans’ Committee since September 2012.He is a part time consultant and advisor for many

Nassir is the current Dean of Faculty of Medicine in Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Dr. Yousif Abdu Asiri is a professor of clinical pharmacy at College of pharmacy, King Saud University (KSU), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Prof. Asiri also a Vice-Rector for Planning and Development at KSU. Yousif was born and grew up in Makkah (mecca) where he got his high school diploma and he moved after to Riyadh to study pharmacy. Dr. Elham Al Nagshabandi, BSN MSN DSN Associate Professor, Faculty of Nursing King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah Dr. Elham Al Nagshabandi is currently working as an Associate Professor in Medical Surgical Adult Health Nursing in Faculty of Nursing at King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah. Dr. Bassim Tahseen Albeirouti MD,MSC, CIP, FRCPC, FACP Department of Hematology King Abdulaziz University Dr. Bassim Albeirouti is currently working as Assistant Professor and Consultant of Adult Hematology & Bone Marrow Transplantation in Department of Hematology in Faculty of Medicine at King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Dr. Bassim is a graduate of King Abdulaziz University. He holds a Masters degree in Cellular Immune Therapy of Cancer. He is a current member of Canadian and American Boards of Internal Medicine and Hematology. He is also a Clinician Investigator Program Certificate of RCPSC, the Founder and ex-board member of SSH (Saudi Society of Hematology) and SOS (Saudi Oncology Society), Vice President of SSIM (Internal Medicine) & SS-BMT (Blood and Marrow Transplantation), and Board member of SSTM (Transfusion Medicine)
Dr. Emad Khan
Faculty of Dentistry
Dr. Emad Khan graduated from King Abdulaziz University – Faculty of Dentistry, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He earned his Master’s degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, and PhD degree in Oral Biology, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA. Dr. Khan is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. He is an active member in several professional organizations such as the Saudi Dental Society, the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, International Association of Dento-Maxillo-Facial Radiology, and the American Dental Education Association. Dr. Khan is interested in medical education and career coaching, and has conducted several educational activities. Currently, Dr. Emad Khan is an assistant professor and consultant in oral and maxillofacial radiology at King Abdulaziz University – Faculty of Dentistry. He is also a trained personal coach.
Prof. Ibrahim Albidewi Professor, Information Systems Department, Faculty of Computers and Information Technology King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah Prof. Ibrahim Albidewi is a professor in Information Systems Department at Faculty of Computers and Information Technology in King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah. He is also the current Vice chairman for Dean’s Committee Office; the current Chairman for KAU Strategy Planning Department; and a Member of the Board of Directors of the National Center for strategic studies ration. Prof. Albidewi holds a Ph.D in computer engineering. He has taught students from various degrees, from Bachelors degree to PhD. Prof. Albidewi is very active in attending and participating in more than 80 various conferences, lectures, and workshops. He has participated in more than 10 Webinars with his current topic is "Strategic Planning on a Shoestring: New Best Practices from Kiva", Association for Strategic Planning (ASP). Prof. Albidewi kept on expanding his knowledge through attending various trainings. And it’s worth mentioning that Prof. Albidewi numerous research publications published throughout his career.
Dr. Loujain Sharif
Dr. Loujain Sharif is a Dar Al-Hekma University first-degree honours 2007 graduate, with a Bachelor in Nursing (BSN). She completed her internship in 2008 at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSH&RC) in Jeddah. Following her internship she was hired in 2009 as a Psychiatric Nursing demonstrator at King Abdulaziz University (KAU). In 2010 she completed her master’s degree (MSc.) in Mental Health studies from the Institute of Psychiatry and Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN) at King’s College London. She also completed her PhD in Nursing Research in 2015 from the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery (FNFNM), King’s College London. Her areas of research interest include: Treatment Resistant Depression (TRD) and mental disorder-related stigma.
Dr. Hind Abdulrazak Yassin Abdulmajed Faculty of Medicine King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, KSA Dr. Hind Abdulmajed is the current Supervisor of the Medical Microbiology and Parasitology Department- female section; and also an Assistant Professor of Medical Microbiology and Immunology at the Faculty of Medicine in King Abdulaziz University. Dr. Abdulmajed holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Microbiology, Masters Degree in Immunology and Immunogenetics, and a PhD in Molecular Tumor Immunology. Dr. Abdulmajed was Accredited Professional International Trainer in Multiple Intelligence, Road to Guinness, Dealing with Difficult People by the American Institute for learning and Human Development, Dubai, UAE; Accredited administrator of Myers Brigs Type Indicator (MBTI) Instrument by CPP Asia Pacific, Singapore; and an Associate Trainer of 6 Hats of Thinking by de Bono Middle East& North Africa, Jeddah, KSA. She has been awarded with numerous awards, honors, and fellowship. She have attended and participated in various conferences, lectures, seminars, and workshops.
Dr. Mohammed A Almekhlafi MSc, FRCPC, ABPN diplomat Assistant Professor Faculty of Medicine, King Abdulaziz University Dr. Mohammed Almekhlafi is an assistant professor and consultant of stroke neurology and interventional neuroradiology in King Abdulaziz University hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He is a Fellow of the Royal college of physicians and surgeons of Canada and the American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry. He holds a master degree in clinical epidemiology. Dr. Almekhlafi currently serves as the head of the Students’ Research and Innovation Unit in King Abdulaziz University and as a board member in the Middle East and North Africa Stroke Initiative led by the Government of Dubai. Dr. Almekhlafi research interests are in the fields of endovascular stroke therapy, and acute stroke workflow. He has co-authored over 50 peer-review publications in journals like Circulation, Annals of Neurology, Neurology, and Stroke. These articles were cited over 600 times. Dr. Almekhlafi is the recipient of the 2013 Canada’s Governor Academic Gold medal for academic excellence. He serves as a peer reviewer, for journals as the American Journal of Neuroradiology, Stroke, and Annals of Saudi Medicine and is an editorial board member in the Neuroscience journal (Riyadh).
Prof. Abdel Moniem Mukhtar Family and Community Medicine, Faculty of Medicine King Abdulaziz University Dr. Abdel Moniem Mukhtar is Associate Professor at the Department of Family and Community Medicine/ Faculty of Medicine at King AbdulAziz University. He was the head of research office at the Public Health Institute/ Federal Ministry of Health in Sudan and the head of Evaluation Department at the Central Research Institute of Ambulatory Health Care System in Germany. His main areas of research interest are unwarranted variations in healthcare, evidence-based medicine and chronic disease epidemiology. Most recently, he published a paper titled “Factors associated with antenatal and delivery care in Sudan: analysis of the 2010 Sudan household survey” in the BMC Health Service Research Journal. Currently, he is participating in a large cross-sectional study on vitamin D deficiency and a systematic review of cross-sectional studies estimating the prevalence of obesity in Saudi Arabia. He serves as the Chair of the Students Research Assessment Unit at the Faculty of Medicine/ King AbdulAziz University and as the Supervisor of the Clinical Trials Unit at King AbdulAziz University Hospital.
Dr. Talal Al Khateeb Currently an assistant professor and chairman of Otolaryngology-head neck surgery at King Abdulaziz University. Dr. Al-khatib is fellow of the royal college of surgeons of Canada since 2010. He also is Sub specialized in pediatric otolaryngology from Melbourne, Australia. Dr. Al-Khatib holds two master degrees one in science from McGill university in Canada. The second master degree is in health professional education from Sydney University in Australia. Dr. Al-Khatib has more than 28 publications in peer reviewed journals and more than 40 presentations both national and internationally.
Dr. Abeer A Arab (MBBS, FRCPC) Consultant, Pediatric Anesthesiologist Assistant Professor at the Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Arab is a Simulation Instructor & training specialist at King Abdulaziz University Clinical Skills & Simulation Center and currently is the deputy director of the center. She has co-developed many Train-of-The-Trainer & Crisis Management Simulation-based workshops presented in Saudi Arabia and internationally including UAE, Oman, Turkey, Canada and USA. She has been a content reviewer of the International Meeting of Simulation in Healthcare and a member of the Society of Simulation in Healthcare. She is a clinical educator at the under/postgraduate, and faculty development levels and she is currently the chair of the simulation committee at the Saudi Board of Anesthesiology. She is also the chair and co-developer of the mandatory “ Patient Safety Module” of undergraduate medical students at KAU; that module produced over 100 students’ patient safety advocacy projects in less than 4 years. Dr. Arab is also a member of the steering committee of the International Clinician Educators network of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Dr. Arab’s current research focuses on Simulation-Based Training and program integration under the umbrella of patient safety in the region.
