‘Dear Sainte Éloise, if you exist, please send me some money. I don’t ask for much —
just enough to buy some bread and a bottle of wine’ – George Orwell, Down and Out in Paris and London, 1933
An unlikely heroine, Dear Sainte Éloise is a tiny oasis of wine in the heart of Sydney’s King’s Cross.
We focus on wines made with the greatest consideration for quality in the vineyard and a skilled and gentle hand in the cellar.
In the same vein, our chef Hugh Piper selects the best seasonal produce to create simple, honest dishes for you to share with
friends.
With a sun-drenched terrace, open plan bar and dining area, as well as a sunken private dining room; we are well fixed to host
your next gathering.
Just behind the main King’s Cross drag on Llankelly Place, we’re just a 5 minute walk from the train station. Well-situated for easy
transport from the city, eastern suburbs and further afield.

TERRACE
Sitting amongst the quiet hustle and bustle (mostly hustle) of Llankelly Place, our terrace is a fun spot to people-watch while

It’s a rare thing in this town to be able to raise a glass outside and in the street no less. It feels positively European! And there
in lies its charm. Best suited to long lunches with friends, whatever the occasion, the terrace seats up to 25 for lunch.
Set menus start at $50pp.

Sydney’s original bad girl of natural wine. Love, Tilly Devine
takes her name from the notorious brothel Madame and
militia boss extraordinaire, Matilda Devine.
The wine list here is as rebellious as our namesake, with a
penchant for Aussie wine makers, working bio-dynamically
and doing things a little differently.
Our chef Michael West creates a daily changing menu of
beautiful food that speaks of the seasons. He does
unspeakably good things with vegetables and his his meat-
free ‘Spring Bloom’ menus have a cult following.
The location, hidden away in an unassuming back alley. lends
it a real speak-easy feel. The kinda place you can let your hair
down.
Located in Surrey Hills just behind William Street we’re in easy
reach of the city or eastern suburbs.
