ADSAP substance violations.

The Defensive Driving CourseYou will learn defensive driving techniques used by professional drivers – techniques that could save your life.

Defensive DrivingCourse Information

You must register in advance and be on time. As a reminder, any person who drives a motor vehicle when his or her license is cancelled, suspended or revoked is in violation of S.C. Statute 56-1-460 and is subject to arrest; this includes driving to and from TTC campuses. The student should verify before enrolling (at www.scdmvonline.com) if you have a penalty points balance on your driving record for the credited points to be applied. Books included.

Motorcycle SafetyCourse Information

Student riders are required to have the following items: eye protection (sunglasses, prescription lenses OK), over-ankle footwear, leather gloves, long pants and long-sleeve shirt or jacket, full face or 3/4 helmet (half helmets are not permitted; helmets may be available for use).

The Motorcycle Basic Rider (BRC) course is for both the inexperienced rider or for a rider needing the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Certification and teaches the basic techniques of safely riding a motorcycle. The course meets South Carolina law for an insurance discount, so please contact your insurance company to verify your eligibility. Students must pass both a written and riding assessment to receive the Motorcycle Safety Foundation card. Training bikes are provided for the Basic Rider course; however, street-legal, registered and insured personal bikes are permitted for use in the course. Students with a learner’s permit who successfully complete this course are

eligible for the Motorcycle License Waiver Test. Class riding time may vary due to weather conditions and level of enrollment. Prerequisite: Basic Rider enrollees must be eligible for a driver’s license and able to ride a bicycle. Books included.

The Motorcycle Experienced Rider (BRC2) course is a skills tune-up for the experienced rider and a refresher for licensed operators or for those riding with a passenger. Both the rider and the passenger must be registered as students (course fee is for rider only). This course meets South Carolina law for an insurance discount, so contact your insurance carrier for eligibility. Students must pass both a written and riding assessment. Course consists of two hours of classroom instruction and four-and-one-half hours of practical application riding. Students must provide a street-legal, insured and fully registered motorcycle; proof of ownership is required. Students with a learner’s permit who successfully complete this course are eligible for the Motorcycle License Waiver Test. Prerequisites: Students must have an M class motorcycle license, motorcycle license endorsement or a motorcycle learner’s permit. Materials included.

The Motorcycle License Waiver (3PT) course is for individuals with a S.C. Motorcycle Learner’s Permit who successfully complete the Motorcycle Basic Rider (BRC) or Motorcycle Experienced Rider (BRC2) course. Participants successfully completing this test within 14 days of the completed BRC or BRC2 course earn a SC DMV Motorcycle License Waiver to be presented to their local DMV to receive a license. The class runs most every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Testing time slots will be prescheduled upon the conclusion of the previous BRC or BRC2 course and students must be pre-enrolled for the test on one of the two following Saturdays. The test must be scheduled within 14 calendar days after but not prior to successful completion of the BRC or BRC2 course for the license waiver to be accepted by the DMV. Students can test on the motorcycle on which they took the BRC course. However, at the presentation of waiver papers to the DMV for the license, if recalled by the DMV for a re-test, you may be asked by the DMV to have a motorcycle available for that appointment. BRC2 students use their own bike for this test.

The NEW! Motorcycle Maintenance and Repair course is for the rider who wants to add years to their bike and keep it trouble-free while saving a lot of money on repairs. A top notch mechanic teaches valuable tips and techniques.
