Today LED is the lighting technology with the fastest growth in product variations, innovation and demand. Eco-friendly and energy-saving – LEDs fully comply with our values and principles in terms of energy responsibility. This is also in line with the Ecodesign Directive 2005/32/EG, which has started to change the lighting market sustainably.

The demand for simple and reliable lighting control is continuously rising. More and more, LED lighting is discovered as perfect solution for creating a pleasant atmo sphere in residential as well as in commercial buildings like hotels, restaurants or shops.Parallely, other lamp types are still used and require flawless dimming as well.

In the past many different lamps required many

different, specifi c dimmers. So changing lamps

often led to the situation that the installed dim-

mer could not control the new lamp without dis-

turbances. Your customers thus faced humming

THE ALLROUNDERUniversal dimmer for LED lamps

The new universal dimmer insert for LED lamps facilitates planning as well as it simplifies the process of installation and configuration thanks to sensible presettings. Optimised for LED lamps, the universal dimmer is the perfect and future-proof choice even for other loads such as incandescent or halogen lamps. It is capable to dim all lamp types flawlessly, safely and reliably. This way, a subsequent change to LED lamps is possible at any time.

To make the changeover to the new dimmer even more straightforward, existing cables can certainly be used and connected loads will be detected automatically.

The Ecodesign Directive has started to chan-

ge the market for lamps and dimmers, while

the customer requirements remain the same.

Lighting comfort, energy effi ciency, safety, and

reliability are always crucial factors, whereas

the choice of lamps can be quite different from

customer to customer. The universal dimmer

optimised for LED lamps is the answer to all

end-user demands for a classical installation.

FIVE-STAR DIMMINGKNX Universal dimming actuator

For KNX installations Schneider Electric offers two new universal dimming actuators, specifically designed for LED lamps.

These dimmers reliably control other loads as well, thus ensuring the best choice for today and tomorrow. Useful pre-settings simplify installation and configuration.

Beyond creating convenient lighting comfort in private homes, KNX and LED tap the full potential to achieve customer-oriented and individual lighting ambience, especially in commercial buildings like restaurants, hotels, and shops.

FIND THE RIGHT MATCHThe Schneider Electric DimmerTool

THE SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC

DIMMER RANGEAlthough many energy-saving lamps are dimmable, clear assignments to dimmers are missing. To determine suitable matches, all possible combinations need to be tested. Schneider Electric has carried out comprehensive internal tests with a large number of different lamp types – LED as well as other loads.

Based on these results we have developed the DimmerTool, which will support you to trace corresponding dimmers or lamp types. The DimmerTool is online accessible; test results of new lamps and dimmers are regularly integrated.
