Last Saturday I went to “Cinepolis” with my two favorite cousins, Mark and Anthony. They are high school students; they are teenagers, so they are younger than me. I’m 25 and a very sensible girl, I like comedies and romantic films, but, they think those films are boring. Mark and Anthony like action and horror films. But I don’t, I think these days, action and horror films are more violent than before, but my cousins love them. I wanted to watch a comedy or a romantic one, but they said that action movies are more exciting than romantic or comedy films. Finally we decided to watch Spiderman 3 and the new version of Godzilla. My cousins enjoyed both movies. They said that the special effects in Spiderman 3 were more interesting than the ones in Godzilla and also that Godzilla was more violent than Spiderman 3. Me? I like the first one better, because in my opinion, Godzilla was very loud and very noisy. But my cousins were really excited; they thought the movies were wonderful. My plans for next weekend? Go to the movies and enjoy a romantic film…alone!

When you visit someone in Japan, it is polite to take a gift. Remember to take your shoes off as you enter the house – they will give you special slippers to wear instead. Leave your shoes at the door, but make sure the toes are pointing towards the door. When you are in the living-room, don’t sit anywhere you like – wait until someone shows you where to sit. Also, don’t blow your nose in public – find a place where you can do it alone.

c. Son: I have a toothache.

Amy: (buy) expensive clothes!

INSTRUCTIONS: Read the three texts and guess which country each statement is for. Write J (for Japan), E (for England) or C (for China).

E N G L A N D

The first thing you should remember when you visit England is always to say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’. Never push into a queue of people or they’ll get angry. Don’t be late for appointments and don’t talk with your mouth full. Remember – always ask before smoking in someone’s house.

C H I N A

When you visit China, don’t kiss anyone in public – it’s very rude. Never be late for appointments, and don’t tell jokes to people you don’t know very well. Be careful when you are eating, too – never leave your chopsticks pointing upwards in your rice because this makes people very upset. A last tip – when you give someone a present, give it with both hands.

Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll was born on February 2nd, 1977, in Barranquilla, Colombia. She also listened heavily to English - language rock & roll, listing her favorite bands Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, The Police, the Cure, and Nirvana. She wrote her first song at the age of 8. At the age of 10, she began entering and winning talent competitions; she started playing

Shakira created the “Pies Descalzos Foundation” to help children in her native Colombia receive a quality education. She is also a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, and was honored by the United Nations' International Labor Organization for her philanthrophic efforts in 2010. Shakira also served on The Voice again for season six of the series. In 2016, she voiced the character Gazelle in the animated film Zootopia. Early in 2017, she appeared on "Deja Vu," a hit single by Prince Royce. Prince Royce returned the favor by appearing on El Dorado, the album Shakira released in May of 2017.
