Inter National Yoga Day (21-06-2016)

The United Nations General Assembly proposed on Dec-11 and established June 21 as “International Yoga Day”. The date was assigned for the occasion as it is the longest day of the year, when the sun is out at its most compared to every other day of the year. Dr.B.R.Ambedkar University-Srikakulam encourages its students to organize events. In this regard, “International Yoga Day” was celebrated in the campus. The chief guests for the inauguration were Prof.M.Chandraiah, Vice-Chancellor of Dr.B.R. Ambedkar University, Srikakulam and Prof Vijay Mohan, Registrar of Dr,BRAUsklm. . ,Prof.G.TulasiRao Principal of Arts, Commerce, Law, Education and Prof.P.Sujatha Principal of Science College were invited as special guests. Dept of Yoga & Physical Education and faculty members of Yoga & Phy.Edu department hosted the spectacular event in a gracious way.

Dr.B.R.Ambedkar University-Srikakulam, celebrates Independence Day & National Sports Day (Sri Dhyanchand Jayanthi) every year which includes sports and games in it. The Department of Physical Education, organized Inter branch matches among the campus students to cultivate the sports cultural and improve interaction between senior and junior students. The University’s 18 departments pertaining to Arts & Science with strength of 800 students had taken part in the event and made it successful one. On National Sports Day – 29th August, an eminent sports personality of the district was invited as chief guest and felicitated as a token of gratitude for contribution towards sports & games. The final match was played in the presence of the dignitaries. All India and South Zone Certificates (participation & merit) were distributed to players by the Hon’ble Vice

Chancellor and Chief Guest. Academic Sports calendar was discussed with the students by the Physical Director.

ANNUAL SPORTS MEET REPORT 2016-2017

Annual Day is an important event that celebrates the beginning of a new year and the bidding farewell to the previous academic year in a celebration of felicitation, feast and festivity. Annual Day forms an integral part of University’s activities. This wonderful event is celebrated to showcase its achievements. It is an occasion of celebration, when students present not only their wonderful performances but also receive honours for their curricular and co-curricular achievements. Dr. B.R.Ambedkar University celebrated its 9th Annual Day with unprecedented fanfare on 9th day of April, 2017 at the kalapranganam premises of the campus at 6.00 pm. The campus was decorated elegantly. A grand stage had been set up with sound & lightings etc...

Prof. M.Chandraiah, Hon.ble Vice-Chancellor (i/c) of Dr. B.R.Ambedkar University had been invited as the chief guest. Guest of Honour was Prof.G. Tulasi Rao, Registrar, Dr. B.R.Ambedkar University. They were given a floral welcome. There were three distinguished guests Prof.P.Chiranjeevulu, Prof.T.KamaRaju and Prof.B.Addai also were invited. All the guests have inaugurated the programme.

The talented students presented mesmerizing cultural events such as dances, plays, magic show, and many more. Prof. P.Chiranjeevulu, the Principal & convenor has presided the 8th Annual Day Celebrations and made the audience aware of the university’s achievements in academics and co-curricular arenas.

Prizes were given away to the toppers and other students who had brought laurels to the Dr. B.R.Ambedkar University in various competitions and contests. Addressing on the occasion Prof.M.Chandraiah, Hon.ble Vice-Chancellor(i/c) , Dr. B.R.Ambedkar University ,lauded and praised the students for raising the educational standard in the University.

At the end Prof.P.Chiranjeevulu, the Principal & convenor has thanked the chief-guest, dignitaries, and parents for having spared their time to attend the function; he also thanked students, teaching staff, and all others who have contributed their best in organizing the event successfully.
