OUR PHILOSOPHY

As all equal human beings labeled teachers, co-workers, parents, and students alike, our community will provide a patient and professional enrichment of knowledge, respect, and discipline between each other . If we have created a consistent and safe refuge of enlightenment where minds can consistently grow, we have succeeded in the name and honor of education at Prosperous High School.

FACILITY PLANS & LAYOUT

Upon much research for designs and high school inspiration where leaders of our pastime have come from as well, I, as your administrator wanted to give a school layout plan that was welcoming and would fit my mission and vision for educators and well as my future leaders/students.

The grouping of the classrooms are according to the genre’ of study. By doing this, it makes it easier and less of a hassle for educators that teach in the same subject area to collaborate with student project/learning ideas. At the end of each hallway there are “group rooms”included for example so Math and Science classrooms on the second floor can possibly come together for students to accelerate in their passion for the sciences such as chemistry or biotechnology.

On the first floor right below, how appropriate to have the library adjacent to the Social science, English literature, and foreign language rooms for students and teachers to once again have the efficiency of their resources right on hand.

Page 6: Dream School

FACILITY PLANS & LAYOUT CONTINUED…

Special Education classrooms have a teacher resource room to the left and right of them for all their supplies and needs in order to give full attention to challenged students. We also placed the Special Education classrooms on the first floor so teachers may use the courtyard as part of “field trips” or recess time for these students.

For students to receive inspiration in their exploration of their talents in the arts, we have placed the visual arts, Auditorium, and band room all adjacent to each other so students can see, hear, and watch inspiration all around them.

Since we are a well rounded school in developing every and any type of leader, we provide electives that can strengthen their interests in what may not be academic but more of a hands on type of education. The vocational education courses and classes are also close nearby the arts .

CURRICULUM AND INNOVATION

The curriculum based at Prosperous High School will be at the student’s individual potential and rank of learning ability. During the summer of his/her 8th grade year, or entrance from a transfer school based on a official transcript, the student will take a 50 question exam based on academic topics. 25 questions will be at a standard grade level according to age, and the other 25, will be at a higher grade standard (honors). Then with a school counselor, they will assess conversation between the young adult to see or note of any gifted or talented abilities that we the school, can adjust to his curriculum needs and abilities. If the child scores above an 88 percent, he is permitted at the discretion of the parent to go on to the Honors level or stay at a Standard level.

Page 9: Dream School

CURRICULUM FOR STANDARD/HONOR LEVEL STUDENTSAll four years of study, students will have to choose 1 foreign

language and complete the 4 year language levels,

2 years of a visual art/music class or all 4 years.

When only completing 2 years of a course rather than all 4 in a subject, an extra academic or vocational course of 2 years , or 2 years of an athletic course must be taken.

3 years of a Social Science, Mathematics, Literature and Earth or Bio Science required. 4th year requires 120 hours of involvement in a career of interest in the community and self research study paper on a approved topic in areas of Literature, Mathematics, Social Science or Earth Science.

INNOVATION AT PROSPEROUS HIGH SCHOOLThe curriculum is set before them in syllabus style format from the minute

they come onto campus. They will be treated as an adult, like they would be in the “real world.” We want them to be extremely ready, with no surprises once they leave our grounds as leaders not just graduates. So the innovation idea for the high school is to set scenarios and events that are related to and similar to what will happen to them as older adults/leaders in the future. For example, in college- signing up for their own classes. We will provide that here at Prosperous.

With the curriculum format, after grade/learning level testing, they will come together with their results and guidance counselors on a personal level and make an education plan of what type of leader they would like to be at the end of their educational career at Prosperous High School. They will pick out classes, not their parents, THEY will, - where they will feel a sense of independence and a goal set up for them to follow and actually see. Guidance counselors will have encouraging quarterly meetings with the students to keep them on their leader track. I believe this will be a successful and innovative way to keep the child’s grades up, and taste consistency and discipline.

Page 11: Dream School

GOVERNANCE AND FINANCE In a dream school like Prosperous High School, the governance and finance will not come from

government of the United States. We as a community: School leaders, neighboring schools, local leaders, teachers, parents, and their families will come together in financing the school.

School events, school activities will have a charge which will all go back to the treasury of the school.

These ideas above seem unreal. If we were to go non-profit this would seem impossible, a challagence, and a burden to do.

If we were to go for profit, I would receive a school community of parents who WANT their kids to learn and will pay anything for a quality education.

For example, If I were to charge $1,000 per year to each student at a population high school that can attain 2400 students, that guarantees my school $2,400,000 per school year. This seems more tempting and more of a guarantee on a dream school, rather than hoping for the best towards such things like state testing results, government funding according to the growth of the city, and state taxes.

The Chief in command in the chain of command would be a school board made up of elected townspeople and officials who meet with the next in command, the Principal of Prosperous High School, then come the educators and employees of the school, followed by the parents voice, and finally our students. However, the students, parents, and educators are always invited to the quarterly year meeting of ideas and suggestions held in front of the Principal and school board.

OUR FUTURE GRADUATES…

I see them leading in and fulfilling the definition of the word in their lives that was built into their foundation with us in our institution. Because of the freedom of choice was given to them, they will be advancing and fulfilling in anything that is desirable to them and leading in it in the near future. They will continue to be eager lifelong students of whatever community. They will be outgoing and disciplined fathers and mothers. When opportunity strikes, it will not be surprising to see them be the first in line at their successful interviews. They will not settle for title of associate. They will be managers, Chief Executive Officers, Professors, Presidents and local leaders. They will always define, no matter where they go or where life directs them, …the title word from their high school foundational roots, prosperous.

WORKS CITED

Slide 1 and 8, Facility plans/layout of school were modeled from Silver Lake Regional High School of Massachussets. After reviewing many, many designs, this high school seemed to make sense with the collaboration in reasoning of where to place my classrooms and creating a perfect dream school environment.
