Dua'a Jaushan E Sagheer Minor Chain-Armorدعاء الجوشن الصغىير Pg 1

ٱلرحيم من ٱلرح ٱلله بسم In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-

merciful.1

ي كم من عدو إلهO my God, many an enemy

ٱوته ف عد ي سي تضى عل ٱنunsheathed the sword of his hostility against me,

ته ة مدي وشحذ لي ظبhoned his dagger's edge against me,

ٱ ه و با حد رهف لي شsharpened the heads of his weapons against me,

ومه م ٱتل س و ي ق ٱف ل د وmixed for me his deadly poisons,

امه ٱئب سه صو ي ل د إ وسدleveled at me his hitting arrow,

ى نم عن ولم ت ته ٱس ين ح عkept a sleepless eye on me,

ٱ مر ٱو ه ض و ك ٱلم ومنى ن يسand decided secretly to target harm to me

ٱرته ف مر ذعا عنى ويجرand to make me taste the deadly poison of his

bitterness.

دح وٱ ٱلف ل ما ضعفي عن ٱحت ى ل نظرت إ[Amid all that] You considered that I am too weak to

bear hardships,

ٱل وعجزي عن ته محارب ني ب ن قصد م تصار م نI am too short to have aid against him who aimed at

attacking me,

ي وٱ ٱن او ن ن م ير م ي في كث صد لي ووحدت ر

and You perceived my loneliness to confront many of

those who incurred my hostility and laid in wait for

me,

ٱفيم لم مثله هم ب ل د صا ٱلر ي في ك مل ف عwhile I have not been ready to give any thought to

sitting in ambush and retaliating.

ا تك ف و يدتنى بقSo, You came to stand by me with Your might,

دت ٱ تك وشد زري بنصmade me strong through Your support,

ه وفللت لي حدnotched his sharpness against me,

وحشده مع عديده عد ج ته ب وخذلdisappointed him although he concentrated all his

troops and crowds,

ٱ عبى عليه و عليت كYou gave me the upper hand over him,

إليه ه ائد ك ي من م ل د إ هت ما سد ووجdirected toward him the same traps that he had laid

for me,

دته عليه د ورand caused him to be engaged with his own traps.

ف غليله ولم يشThus, he could not quench his thirst,

د ولم تبر ٱت غيظه ٱز حزdid not assuage the fury of his anger,

امله وقد عض علي ٱ نbit his thumb [out of his malice toward me],

ٱ ا قد ٱو ي ول ٱياه دبر م قت س خفand turned his back fleeing after his pennons had

failed.

مد يا رب ٱلح فلك So, all praise be to You, O Lord;

يغلب تدر لا ق من مYou are invulnerably Omnipotent

ذي ٱ عجل و ي اة لا نand prudently Forbearing.

د د وآل محم م صل على محBless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

ائك م عم علنى لن ٱج ين و اك ٱلش ن and include me with those who are thankful for Your

bounties

ين ٱك ٱلذ ولآلائك من and those who permanently mention Your graces.

ي وكم م اغ إله ن بO my God, many a tyrannical oppressor

ائده مك ي ب ن ا بغmade me the target of his oppressive trickeries,

ي ٱ نصب ل و ائده ٱك مص شset the traps of his hunting for me,

د رعايته ق ي تف ب ل ووكcontinuously spied on me,

ٱ يدته ضباو بع لط ٱلس اء ضب ي إ ل إand waylaid me like a beast waylaying its prey

ته ص از ف ته ٱ لان ار تظ ن إin waiting for seizing the best opportunity [to catch

me],

ملق ٱل اشة بش هر و يظ وهWhile he was showing me happy mien flatteringly

ير طلق ا غ بسط وجه ويand displaying an uncheerful face.



ا رٱ م يرته فل دغل س يت So, when You saw ill intention of his inner self

بح م ته وق ي مل ف كه ي ش ل وى عليه نط ا ٱand the ugliness of his determination against his

partner in religion,

ٱ و با لي في بغيه صبح مجلand he became resolute in tyranny against me,

ته لاٱ م رٱركس سهYou threw him down headlong

ٱ نه من ٱو نيا اسه تيت ب سand demolished his structure from its foundation.

ته ف ع ي زبيته فصSo, You knocked him down while he was in loftiness,

ته وى حف ي مه يته ف د ورmade him fall in the bottomless depth of his hole,

ٱب رج تر ا ل بق ه ط علت خد وج لهcaused his face to be a cover of his foot’s dust,

ورزقه نه ي بد ته ف وشغلcaused him to be engaged with his body and his

earnings,

ته بحجره ورميhurled him with his own stone,

وتره ته ب نق وخsuffocated him with his own rope,

اقصه مش ته ب ي ذك وslaughtered him with his own arrowhead,

ته ل وكبب ه نخ مoverturned him to his nose,

ه نح دت كيده في د ورturned his plot to his own neck,

ته ٱم ند ته ب ق وربlassoed him with his remorse,

اوفس ته س ته بحand stretched him with is regret.

تخذٱ اس وته ف عد نخ اءل ب وتضSo, he became lowly and dwindled after his

arrogance,

ته ال عد ٱستط مع ب نق ٱ وwas crushed after his haughtiness;

لا ما ته ذلي ال ب ورٱ في ربق ح سhumble and captured in the lasso of his trap

ل ٱ ان يؤم تى ك ٱل وته وم سط ا ي ه ني في ن يرٱin which he expected to see me in the days of his

influence.



تك ولا رحم ا رب ل وقد كدت يIn fact, O my Lord, I was—had it not been for Your

mercy—

ٱ ته اح بي ما حل بس ن يحل about to encounter the same as he had encountered.





ٱج ين و اك ٱلش ائك من عم علنى لنand include me with those who are thankful for Your

bounties

ته س ق بح ش اسد ي وكم من ح إلهO my God, many an envier choked with his regret

ي بغيظه وعدو شجand an enemy became grieved out of his fury,

نه قنى بحد لسا وسلsmit me with his sharp tongue,

نه وق عي م ي ب ن ووخزpricked me with the inner corner of his eye,

ٱميه مر ا ل ض علنى غ وجmade me the object of his intentions,

ل فيه لالا لم تز ي خ ن د وقلand gird me with dispositions that are still his.

ٱ بك ير تج ا رب مس ديتك ي ناTherefore, I called upon You, O my Lord, seeking

Your shelter,

تك اب عة إج س ا ب ق ٱث وhaving full confidence in the immediateness of Your

response,

ى ما لم ٱ عل وكل ت ل ٱم فه ز تعرtrusting in that which I am still receiving from You;

اعك دف من حسن namely, the excellence of Your defense of me,

ما ٱ ال هد من ٱع يضط ه لا نفك ن ى ظل ك ل وى إhaving full knowledge that whoever harbors under the

shade of Your protection will never be persecuted,



ا دث من لج وٱ ٱلح ع ار بك ولن تق تص ن ٱلا قل ى مع ل إ

and whoever takes refuge in the fortress of the

seeking of Your support will never be exposed to the

strikes of misfortunes.

تنى من با ن قدرتك فحص ب سهSo, You safeguarded me from his prowess with Your

omnipotence.



ذي ٱ و اة لا عجل ن يand prudently Forbearing.


ين اك ٱلش ائك من عم علنى لن ٱج وand include me with those who are thankful for Your

bounties

ائب م ي وكم من سح تهاإله ي ه جل و كO my God, many clouds of misfortune You have

dispersed,

تها مة مط ع اء ن م وسmuch rain of bliss You have poured,

ٱمة ٱ ل ك ٱو تهاوجد جريmany streams of conferral You have made flow,

ٱ ين ٱو هاع مست ٱث ط حدmany springs of troubles You have effaced,

تها ش ن اشئة رحمة ن وmany launches of mercy You have spread,

افية ٱ ة ع ن هاوج بست لmany armors of wellbeing You have adorned [us

with],

ها ات كشفت ب ك ٱمر و وغmany overwhelming calamities You have removed,

ها ٱو رت ارية قد ور ج مand many continual events of goodness You have

decided.

ا ته ذ طلب عجزك إ لم تThey would never render You impotent when You

determined them to happen,

ذ ٱ نك إ نع م مت هاولم ت دت رand could never stop responding to You when You

wanted them to be.

قت ي وكم من ظن حسن حق إلهO my God, many an excellent hope You have

achieved,

لاق جبر س إم ت ومن كmany breaking poverty You have set,

لت و ادحة ح نة ف ك ومن مسmany gross neediness You have shunted,

عشت ن هلكة عة م ص ومن many destructive blows You have revived (me from

them),

ة ٱ ق رحت ومن مشand many hardships You have relieved (me of them).

تسا عل لا ا تف م ل عYou cannot be questioned concerning that which You

do

ون وهم يسا لand they shall be questioned.

قصك ما ٱ ن ي قت ولا نفThat which You spend never decreases You.

قد سئلت فا عطيت ولWhen You have been besought, You gave;

تدٱولم تسا اب ت ل فand although You have not been besought, You took

the initiative to give.

ا ٱ م اب فضلك ف ميح ب ٱست كديت وWhen the door of Your favoring was knocked, You

have not withheld.

ا ٱ ان ٱمتن اما و ع إن بيت إلاYou have insisted on nothing but favoring and

bestowal

ٱ انا و لا يا رب وإحس و تط بيت إلاand You, O my Lord, have also insisted on giving

generously and beneficently.

ٱ اتك و م ا لح اك ه نت ٱ بيت إلاBut as for me, I insisted on nothing but violation of

Your prohibitions,



صيك ا ى مع ٱءٱ عل ر

ت ٱج وdaring to commit acts of disobedience to You,

دك يا لحدو عد وتtransgressing Your limits,

وغفلة عن وعيدك passing over Your threats,

ك ي وعدو عدو اعة ل وطand obeying Your and my enemy.

ك الش لالي ب ي إخ ص نا ي و ا إله عك ي ن لم يمMy failure to be thankful to You has not made You, O

my God and Helper,

نك إحسا ام م عن إتstop perfecting Your favors on me.

ذلك ني حجز كاب عن ولا اخطك ٱرت مسLikewise, this has not prevented me from committing

sins that You dislike.

ذليل بد ام ع ق ٱ م هم وهذ ٱللO my God, this is the situation of a humble servant

[of You],

ال ترف لك ب وحيد ٱع تwho professes Your Oneness,

ٱ ي ٱو ف ير قص ت ال ب نفسه ك ق على ق ٱء ح دconfesses of his failure to carry out his duty towards

You,

هد لك ب متك عليه وش نع وغ سبand testifies to Your ample favoring on him,

ه ند دتك ع ا ميل ع وجYour excellent habits in treating him,

نك إليه ا وإحسand Your bestowal of graces upon him.

دي من فضلك ي وسي ا إله ي ي هب ل فSo, my God and Master, confer upon me an amount

of Your benevolence

ا متك ٱم لى رح ا إ ب ريده سبthat I can use as a path taking me to Your mercy,

ٱ ما ٱو ه سل خذ اتك ت ض لى مر إ ج فيه عas a ladder by which I ascend to Your satisfaction,

من سخطك وآمن بهand I can be secured from Your wrath

ولك تك وط عز بin the name of Your might and supremacy

د م ك مح نبي وبحق and in the name of Your Prophet, Muhammad,

وآله عليه ٱلله ى صلmay Your blessings be upon him and his Household.

بد ي وكم من ع إلهMy God, many a servant [of You]

سى وٱٱ موت م ٱل ب ي ك بح ف صis in eves and morns suffering the agony of death,

در ٱلص جة ش وحand the rattles of death,

ود ٱلجل نه عر م قش لى ما ت إ ظر ن ٱل وexperiencing that which shudders the skins

وب قل ٱل وتفزع له and horrifies the hearts;

ٱ و ه ذلك كل افية من نا في عbut I am safe from all that.

سى وٱٱ عا م وج م قيم بح س صis in eves and morns ailing and feeling pain

ي ٱ ة ف ويل ن وعwith moans and wails,

ه م ي غ ب ف قل ت يand is rolling over and over with anguish;

يجد محيصا لاneither finding any way of escaping it

اما ولا غ طع يسي ٱبا ولا شnor is he finding the taste of any food or drink;

ٱ بدن و ٱل ة من صح نا في while I am enjoying body health

عيش ٱل لامة من وسand safe living.

ذلك نك كل مAll that [wellbeing] is from You.





ع علنى لن ٱج ين و اك ٱلش ائك من مand include me with those who are thankful for Your

bounties


ي وك بد إله م من عO my God, many a servant [of You]

سى وٱٱ ا م وب ائفا مرع بح خ صis in eves and morns fearful, frightened,

لا ا وج ق مشفterrified, scared,

اربا ٱ ه يد طfugitive, runaway,

ي مضيق ٱ ف نجح مhiding in a tight burrow

با ابئ ومخ مخ ٱل ة من or in an ordinary den;



ٱلا اقت عليه ض ا قد به رض برحwhile the entire spacious earth has become too

narrow to secure him a place.

يجد حيلة لاHe thus cannot devise any plan

ما ى ولا نج م وى ولاor find any shelter or retreat.

ٱ مانا في ٱو افية من وط نة وع نيWhile I am living in security, tranquility, and good

health;

ذلك من ه كلall of which is from You.

مد يا رب ف ٱلح لك So, all praise be to You, O Lord;

دي ي وسي إلهO my God and Master,

بد وكم من عmany a servant [of You]

سى وٱٱ ولا م بح مغل صis in eves and morns enchained

ٱلحديد لا في ب ك مand shackled in iron shackles

ا ونه ب يرحم لا عدٱة ٱل يدي in the hands of his enemies whom show him no

mercy;

ٱ من ٱ قيد ف وولده هله[and he is] separated from his family members and

children

وبلده ٱنه عا عن إخو قط ن مand detached from his friends and country;

اعة با ع كل س وق ت تل ي ق ي قتلة يeach hour, he wonders what kind of killing he will be

killed



ا وب ل به مث ي مثلة يand what kind of mutilation he will be mutilated.

ٱ ذلك و افية من نا في ع ه كلBut I am safe from all this.

سى وٱٱ ب م ٱلح اسى بح يق صis in eves and morns contending in war,

نفسه ل ب تا ٱلق ة اش ب ومconducting the fighting by himself,

ٱلا ته انب قد غشي ٱء من كل ج عدand is surrounded by enemies from all sides

ب ٱلح اح وآلة م ٱلر وف و ي الس بwith swords, spears, and instruments of wars.

ٱلحديد عقع في تق يHe is trembling inside iron [i.e. his armor],

ده هو غ مج قد بلand trying desperately to do everything possible.

ف حيلة عر ي لاHe cannot find any further means

هربا يجد م ولاand cannot find any escape.

ات ٱقد ٱح الجر نف ب دHe is seriously experiencing wounds

ٱ ا بدمه ط تشح و مor is totally covered with his blood



ٱلا ابك و ن ٱلس رجل تحت [struggling] under the toes of the hooves and under

feet;

ا ء بة من م ش ى تمن يhe desires a drink of water

لى ٱٱ و نظرة إ وولده هلهor a look at his folk and children

ها قدر علي ي لاbut he cannot get it.

ٱ ذلك و افية من نا في ع ه كلWhile I am safe from all that.

ٱلذ ين ولآلائك من ٱكand those who permanently mention Your graces.

سى وٱٱ ار م بح ٱل ات م ي ظل بح ف صis in eves and morns living in the darkness of seas,

اح ي ٱلر ف ٱص و وعin the storms of winds,

ٱلا ٱلاو ل و وٱ ٱج ه و مand in horrors and billows;

هلاك ٱل ٱلغرق و ع وق ت يanticipating drowning and perdition;

قدر على حيلة ي لاhe does not have any means in his power;

قة ٱ اع ى بص تل و مبor is afflicted with a thunderbolt,

ق هدم ٱو ٱ و حdemolition, burning,



و خسف و شق ٱٱor choking, swallowing of the earth,

و قذف و مسخ ٱٱdeformation, or striking.

ٱ ذلك و افية من نا في ع ه كلWhile I am safe from all that.

سى وٱٱ ٱ م اف بح مس صis in eves and morns on journeys,

اخصا عن ٱ ش وولده هلهfar away from his family members and sons,

اوز مف ٱل ي رٱ ف ي تح مbewildered in deserts,

ٱم و ٱله ائم و به ٱل ش و وحو ٱل ها مع ائ تwandering with beasts, wild animals, and pests,

يدٱ ٱ ف وحيدalone and forlorn;

ف حيلة عر ي لاhe can find no way out

تدي سبيلا ه ي ولاnor can he follow any right path;

د ٱو متاٱ ا ببر ي و ح ذor is suffering cold, hot weather,

ي و جوع ٱٱ و عhunger, nudity,



ٱئد ٱ د ٱلش من ه ير و غor other sorts of tribulations

ا ٱ م نه خلو م ا م نof which I am free;

ه ذلك كل افية من ي ع فand I am released from all that.

دي ولاي وسي ي وم إلهMy God, Master, and Lord,

بد وكم من عmany a servant [of You]

سى وٱٱ ائلا م يرٱ ع ق بح ف صis in eves and morns poor, needy,

قا مل اريا م عnaked, deprived,

ٱ ور هج ا م ق مخفabortive, abandoned,

مآن ا ظ ائع جhungry, and thirsty;

بفضل عليه ود من يع نتظر يexpecting someone to bestow a favor upon him;

ندك ٱ بد وجيه ع و عor many a slave—who enjoys a high standing with

You

و ٱ ندك ه ى ع وجه منor who is superior in prominence than I am in Your

view

ٱ ادة لك و شد عبand more worshipping for You than I am—



ٱ ور قه ولا م مغلis chained and subdued;

اء ن ع ٱل لا من تعب ل ثق م قد حhe has been overloaded with the exhaustion of pains,

ة دي و عب ٱل ة وشدthe hardship of slavery,

ق ٱلر وكلفة the encumbrance of serfdom,

ٱلض قل بة وث يand the burden of imposition;

لاء شديد ٱ ب ى ب تل و مبor is encountering a hard tribulation

ك عليه ن بم إلا بل له به ق لاthat he cannot stand except by a favor that You

bestow upon him;

ٱ م و ع من ٱل مخدوم ٱل نا while I am served, turning in bliss,

م ك م ٱل افى مع ٱلrelieved from that, honored,

و فيه ا ه م افية م ي ع فand released from what that one suffers.

ذلك مد على ٱلح فلك ه كلSo, all praise be to You, O Lord;

دي ي وسي إلهMy God and Master,

بد ٱ سى وٱوكم من ع صبح مmany a servant [of You] is in eves and morns

ٱ يد ط يدٱ شhomeless, fugitive,



ٱ ر ي تح ٱن م ير حconfused, bewildered,

ائفا ا خ ائع جhungry, and afraid

ٱلبرٱري حاري و ٱلص ي فin deserts and wild lands;

ق قد ٱ ٱلبرد ح ٱلح و ه he is burnt by hot and cold weather

عيش ٱل ض من و في وهwhile he is suffering harsh living,

ٱلحياة نك من ض وbarely sufficient manner of living,

قام ٱلم ل من ذ وand humble position;

ة س ح نفسه لى إ نظر يhe looks at himself with grief

نفع ض ولا ى ها عل قدر ل ي لاbecause he cannot make any harm or benefit to

himself;

ٱ ذلك و و من نا خل ه كلbut I am free from all that

مك دك وك و بجon account of Your magnanimity and generosity.

ين ٱك ٱلذ ولآلائك من and those who permanently mention Your graces;

متك ٱرحمنى برح وand have mercy upon me, by Your mercy;

ا ٱ ين ي ٱحم ٱلر رحم O most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

دي ي وسي إلهMy God and Master,


ا لا مريض عليailing, ill,

نفا مد قيم سsick, and seriously unwell;

ا باسه ي ل ة وف عل ٱل ش ى ف عل[laid] on the bed of ailment and dressed with it;

الا م ا وش مين ب ي قل ت يhe turns right and left [unrestfully]

ام ع ٱلط ة ف شيئا من لذ عر ي لاand cannot find the good taste of food

ٱب ش ٱل ة من لذ ولا

or the good taste of drink;


ٱ و ض ا تطيع له يس ا لا نفع لاbecause he cannot make any harm or benefit to

himself.

ٱ ذلك و و من نا خل ه كلWhile I am free from all that


ٱ إله إلا لا نك ف بحا نت سSo, there is no god save You. All glory be to You;




ابدين ع ٱل علنى لك من ٱج وand include me with the worshippers of You,

ين اك ٱلش ائك من عم ن ولthose who are thankful for Your bounties,


متك ٱرحمنى برح وand have mercy upon me, by Your mercy;

د ولاي وسي يمMy Lord and Master,


تفه ومه من ح ا ي دن وقد receiving the day of his death;

ٱ وت في ٱو ٱلم ملك نه حدق به وٱ عand the Angel of Death and his assistants are gazing

at him;

ضه ا وت وحي ٱلم ٱت ك الج س ع يhe is thus suffering the agonies and pains of death.

الا نا وشم مي اه ي ن تدور عيHis eyes are turning right and left,

لى ٱ إ نظر وٱي ائه ب وٱح ٱئه د و ئه لا خlooking at his dear, beloved, and intimate friends;

لام ٱلك نع من قد مhe is restrained from ability to talk

اب ٱلخط وحجب عن and withheld from speaking.

ة س ح نفسه لى إ نظر يHe looks at himself with grief

ا نفع ٱ ولا ض ا تطيع له يس لاbecause he cannot make any harm or benefit to

himself;






د و م د صل على مح آل محمBless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

ين ولآلا ٱك ٱلذ ئك من and those who permanently mention Your graces;

متك ٱرحمنى برح وand have mercy upon me, by Your mercy.

ا ٱ ين ي ٱحم ٱلر رحم O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!

دي ولاي وسي ي وم إلهMy God, Lord, and Master,


ون ج ٱلس س و بو ٱلح ائق ي مض فin the straits of jails and prisons

ا ا وحديده ذله ا و ه ب وكand in their agonies, humiliation, and iron;

ٱوله ٱ تد و ي اع ته ني ا وزبا نه ٱcontrolled by their keepers and guards;

يدري ٱ لا عل به ف ال يف ي حso, he has no idea what will be done to him

ٱ و ل به مث ي مثلة يand which punishment will be set upon him.

عيش ٱل ض من و في ه فHe is suffering harsh living

ٱلحياة نك من ض وand barely sufficient manner of living.

ة س ح نفسه لى إ نظر يHe looks at himself with grief

ا نفع ٱ ولا ض ا تطيع له يس لاbecause he cannot make any harm or benefit to

himself;

ٱ و و ه نا خل ذلك كل من but I am free from all that







د وآل محم م د صل على محBless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad




متك ٱرحمنى برح وand have mercy upon me, by Your mercy,

اء ٱلقض مر عليه ت ٱس قد permanently suffering under the vicissitudes of time,

ٱ لاء و ٱلب حدق بهsurrounded by hardships,

ارق ٱ ه وٱوف ٱء د اءه وٱو ءه حب لا خdeparting his dear, beloved, and intimate friends,

ٱ سى ٱو لا م ذلي يرٱ ق ٱ ح ير سreceiving the evenings while he is imprisoned,

humiliated, and lowly,

ي ٱ ٱلاف ار و كف ٱل ٱء يدي عدin the hands of the unbelievers and the enemies

الا نا وشم مي نه ي ٱولو تد يwho dominate him from the right and the left;

ير ام مط ٱل ي قد حص فhe has been locked up in cellars

الحديد ل ب ق وثand overloaded with iron (shackles);

ٱلد اء ضي يرى شيئا من ا لا نيhe cannot see any of the light of the world

ها من روح ولاnor any of its rest;




تط يس ا لا نفع ٱو لا ض ا يع لهbecause he cannot make any harm or benefit to

himself;

ٱ ه و ذلك كل و من نا خلbut I am free from all that

ولاي ي وم ديإله وسيMy God, Lord, and Master;

بد ٱ سى وٱوكم من ع صبح مmany a servant [of You] in eves and morns

ا بة فيه الرغ ا ب ني ٱلد لى اق إ ٱشت وقد has desirously longed for the worldly pleasures

ى ٱ ل اله إ وم نفسه اط ب ن خthat he risked himself and his property

نه عليها صا م حout of his greediness of them (i.e. these pleasures).

ت به س ٱلفلك وك قد ركب He thus embarked on a ship, which was then broken;

ا مه بحار وظل ٱل و في آفاق وهso, he is in the horizons and murk of oceans;




نفع ض ولا ى ها عل قدر ل ي لاbecause he cannot make any harm or benefit to

himself;



ٱ إله إلا لا بحاف نك نت سSo, there is no god save You. All glory be to You;







م ٱرحمنى برح تك وand have mercy upon me, by Your mercy,

اء ٱلقض مر عليه ت ٱس قد permanently suffering under the vicissitudes of time

ٱ و لاء حدق به ٱلبand is surrounded by hardships,

ٱلا ار و كف ٱل ٱء و عدunbelievers, and enemies;

ٱ ام و ه ٱلس يوف و ٱلس اح و م ٱلر خذته and is taken up by spears, swords, and arrows;



ا يع ص ل وجدand he was then knocked down and thrown to the

ground.

ٱلا بت ش رض من دمه وقد The soil swallowed his blood

ٱ كلت و مه من لح ير ٱلط اع و ب ٱلسand beasts and birds munched his flesh.

ٱ ذلك و و من نا خل ه كلBut I am free from all that

مك دك وك و بجon account of Your magnanimity and generosity

قاق منى تح اس ب لاalthough I do not deserve it.

ٱ إله إلا ا لا نك ي بحا نت سO He save Whom there is no god. All glory be to You;





bounties



ا ٱ ين ي ٱحم ٱلر رحم O most Merciful of all those who show mercy;

يم تك يا ك وعزand by Your might; O All-generous.

ا لديك لا م طلبن مI will insistently ask for that which is with You,

ن عليك ولا لحpersist on You,

ن ي ولا وك مد نح دي and extend my hand towards You,

ا إليك مع جرمهalthough it has committed offenses against You.



من ٱ ب ا رب ف وذ ي عO my Lord, whose protection should I seek

من ٱ وب وذ لand whose refuge should I take?

ٱ ٱلا ي إلا نت حد لNone can stand for me save You.

ي وٱٱ ن د تر ي ف ل و نت معWill You reject me while You are my one and only

confidence

كلي وعليك متand upon You alone do I rely?

اء ساٱ م ٱلس ى ته عل ع ذي وض ٱل مك لك باس

ت قل است ف

I thus beseech You in the name of Your Name that

when You put it on the heavens, they raised,

ٱلا ى ت وعل تق رض فاسwhen You put it on the earth, it settled down,

ست ف ل با ٱلج ى وعلwhen You put it on the mountains, they became firm,

يل فا ٱلل ى ظلم وعلwhen You put it on the night, it darkled,

ار استن ف ار ه ن ٱل ى وعلand when You put it on the daylight, it lit up,

د ٱ م ل مح د وآ م ى مح ي عل ن تصل[I beseech You] to bless Muhammad and the

Household of Muhammad,

ٱ هاو ي كل وٱئج ي ح قضى ل ن تsatisfy all my wants,

ا ه بي كل نو وتغف لي ذforgive all my sins,

يرها ب يرها وك صغthe trivial and the significant,

زق ٱلر ي من ع عل وس وتand expand my sustenance

ة ٱلآخ ا و ني ٱلد ف ش غنى به بل ا ت مto the scope that I can attain the honor of this world

and the Hereafter.

ا ٱ ٱلر ي ين رحم ٱحمO most Merciful of all those who show mercy!

نت تع ٱس ولاي بك مMy Master, Your help do I seek;



د وٱ م د وآل مح م ى مح عنىفصل علso, bless Muhammad and the Household of

Muhammad and help me!

تجرت فا ٱس ني وبك جرYour protection do I seek; so, (please) protect me.

ٱ ادك و ب اعة ع تك عن ط اع ننى بط غThrough my obedience to You, (please) suffice me

from obedience to Your servants.

مسا تك عن مساوب قك ل لة خلThrough my entreaty to You; (please) suffice me f rom

beseeching Your creatures.

ٱلغنى لى عز ٱلفق إ ذل قلنى من ن ٱ وTransfer me from the humiliation of poverty to the

honor of richness

اعة ٱلط ى عز ل عاصى إ ٱلم ل ذ ومن and from the humiliation of acts of disobedience to

You to the honor of obedience to You.

قك ير من خل ى كث تنى عل ل قد فض فYou have really given me preference over many of Your

creatures

ا م ٱ منك وك ود جout of Your magnanimity and generosity,

قاق منى تح اس ب لاalthough I do not deserve it.

ى مد عل ٱلح ي فلك إله ه ذلك كلMy God, all praise be to You for all that.

د د وآل محم م صل على مح(Please) send blessings to Muhammad and the

Household of Muhammad

عل ٱج ين و اك ٱلش ائك من عم نى لنand include me with those who are thankful for Your

bounties
