Software Used
• Adobe Connect – Used for Live Lecture broadcast
– Students get link to online “lecture room” and log in.
– Lectures are recorded with link to recording placed on Moodle.
– Students can then view the lecture via the link anytime
– Lecture is not downloadable
Software Used
• Panopto – Screen capture tool
– Essentially it records what is being seen on the screen e.g. Adobe Connect Interface
– You can simultaneously record in Panopto and Adobe connect.
– Key advantage is that it provides the lecture in a downloadable format.
Assessment Strategies
• Use Moodle for Quizzes
• Different Question Formats can be written into Moodle.
• MCQs, True/False, Mathematical, Cloze, Picture Mapping, SAQ/LAQ.
• Use of mini projects and corresponding viva’s on a specialist topic.
• Enquiry based team Projects
Assessment Strategies-Enquiry based Team Projects
• Students use tools such as Google Hangouts and Skype to meet and interact online
• Assignments reflect work-based scenarios that students may encounter
• One submission for 3 students
• Meeting minutes and actions also need to be submitted for grading as well as individual learning logs to evaluate learning experience online.
Online Proctoring of Exams
• Using camera technology and keystroke monitoring.
• Live checking of online exam students.
• Partnership with US company ProctorU for this initiative.
• Approx. 100 online exams conducted to date.
