  • An established institution in Belgrade, the Economic Summit has

    been organized annually since 2001. The Summit is an annual review

    of Serbias political, economic and business developments, while it

    provides an analysis of the countrys role within the region as well as

    with the European Union.

    The Summit is an excellent communication forum among Serbian and

    international decision-makers, business leaders and experts. More

    than 50 speakers and 400 participants attend the event every year

    gaining the opportunity to learn more about the economic policies of

    the government, and meet counterparts from Serbia and abroad.

    Local, regional and international business leaders and decision-

    makers, as well as representatives of the press, consider the event

    an annual milestone and a primary meeting point between companies

    and individuals.

    The 15th Economic Summit of the Republic of Serbia will take

    place at the Metropol Palace Hotel in Belgrade, on

    Monday-Tuesday, June 8-9, 2015, and will present and

    discuss all significant topics related to current political and

    economic developments of the country.

  • Key Moments of the Economic Summit

    2001 The 1st Economic Summit of the Union of Serbia & Montenegro is opened by the

    President of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Vojislav Kostunica. The Official Dinner is

    addressed by the late Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Zoran Djindjic.

    2002 The President of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Vojislav Kostunica, opens the 2nd

    Summit together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, Carl Bildt.

    2003 The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milo Djukanovic, opens the proceeding of the 3rd

    Summit together with the Governor of the National Bank of Serbia, Mladjan Dinkic, and the

    President of the Central Bank of Montenegro, Ljubisa Krgovic.

    2004 The opening speech of the President of the State Union of Serbia & Montenegro,

    Svetozar Marovic, is followed by the keynote speeches of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the

    State Union of Serbia & Montenegro, Vuk Draskovic, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic

    of Serbia, Miroljub Labus, and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Montenegro,

    Miroslav Ivanisevic.

    2005 The President of the Republic of Serbia, Boris Tadic, the Prime Minister of Montenegro,

    Milo Djukanovic, the Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia, Miroljub Labus, the Minister of Foreign

    Affairs of the Union of Serbia & Montenegro, Vuk Draskovic, and the Minister of Defense of the

    Union of Serbia & Montenegro, Prvoslav Davinic, open the proceedings of the 5th Summit.

    2006 The Prime Minister of Serbia, Vojislav Kostunica, and the Prime Minister of Montenegro,

    Milo Djukanovic, open the proceedings of the 6th Summit. Following their opening speeches,

    Ambassador Miroslav Lajcak, Personal Representative of EU Secretary-General of the Council

    and High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy addresses the event.

    2007 The Conference is opened by the Minister of Economy & Regional Development of the

    Republic of Serbia, Mladjan Dinkic. His opening speech is followed by the keynote address of

    the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Vuk Jeremic. The Official Dinner is

    addressed by the Governor of the National Bank of Serbia, Radovan Jelasic.

    2008 The 8th Summit is opened by the First Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of the Interior

    of the Republic of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy &

    Regional Development, Mladjan Dinkic, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of

    Serbia, Vuk Jeremic. The Official Lunch is addressed by the Prime Minister of the Republika

    Srpska, Milorad Dodik.

  • 2009 The Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Mirko Cvetkovic,

    opens the proceedings of the 9th Summit together with the First

    Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the Republic of

    Serbia, Ivica Dacic, the Deputy Prime Minister EU Integration &

    Minister of Science, Technological Development of the Republic of

    Serbia, Bozidar Djelic, and the President of AP of Vojvodina, Bojan

    Pajtic. The Official Dinner is addressed by the Minister of Trade &

    Services of the Republic of Serbia, Slobodan Milosavljevic.

    2010 The Summit celebrates 10 years and is opened by the First

    Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Interior of the Republic of Serbia,

    Ivica Dacic, the Deputy Prime Minister EU Integration & Minister of

    Science, Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia,

    Bozidar Djelic, and the President of AP of Vojvodina, Bojan Pajtic.

    2011 The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the

    Republic of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, opens the 11th Summit, and is

    followed by speeches of the State Secretary for European and

    International Affairs of Austria, Wolfgang Waldner, and the Minister

    of Foreign Trade & Economic Relations of Bosnia & Herzegovina,

    Mladen Zirojevic.

    2012 - The 12th Summit is addressed by the Prime Minister & Minister

    of Interior of the Republic of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, followed by the

    speeches of the Minister of Finance & Economy of the Republic of

    Serbia, Mladjan Dinkic, the Group COO of Eurobank, Stavros Ioannou

    and by the President of Foreign Investors Council, Costin Borc.

    2013 - The Prime Minister & Minister of Interior of the Republic of

    Serbia, Ivica Dacic, opens the proceedings of the 13th Summit, while

    keynote speeches are addressed by Milorad Dodik, President of the

    Republic of Srpska, Sasa Radulovic, Minister of Economy of the

    Republic of Serbia and Frederic Coin, President of the Foreign

    Investors Council. The Official Dinner is addressed by the Economic

    Advisor to former Greek Prime Minister, Professor Gikas Hardouvelis.

    2014 The 14th Summit opens with a Leaders breakfast, where key

    Leaders discuss how the wounds from the horrible floods in Serbia can

    be healed. The main session is addressed by the First Deputy Prime

    Minister & Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivica Dacic, followed by the

    Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Issues, Aleksandar Vulin,

    the Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council, Goran

    Svilanovic and the President of the Foreign Investors Council,

    Frederic Coin.

    The last Summit of the Republic of Serbia was organized in June

    2014 at the Metropol Palace Hotel in Belgrade, with the

    participation of the countrys First Deputy Prime Minister and

    Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E Ivica Dacic, the Minister of Labor,

    Employment and Veteran and Social Issues, H.E. Aleksandar Vulin

    and other senior members of the Serbian Government.

    An official reception was held at the Town Hall of Belgrade, with the participation of distinguished members of the Greek and

    Serbian communities.
